Good morning!

I am continuing the lollygagging this morning. I suppose I am delaying having to be fully ON for as long as I can.

Today's plans -
** 8:30 go to the city with DH for medical appt. With DS14 birthday celebration and other trips this past week we used a lot of gas. The SUV is below 1/4 tank so it needs some attention before coming home. Gas in the city is usually 40-50 cents cheaper than in rural stations.
** 6pm Birthday celebration at DFriends home.
** Call to move DD11 appt with counselor to another time. It conflicts with Meet the Teacher time.

Project of the day - hum...how to choose? Which project is more embarrassing? Making progress on DS14 bedroom......or......preparing 2021 tax paperwork to take to CPA? Maybe I can use that humiliation to motivate me to stay focused on them.

It's quite 'muggy' here too, Cathy. It's pretty overcast at the moment but we only have a bit of rain in the forecast this afternoon and then again overnight.

Dh has gone to winterize his first RV already this morning. Hoping he gets it done well before it gets too hot. The good news is he's not working today so that's good. Says he feels somewhat better than yesterday. We spent almost all day inside -it was definitely sauna weather here yesterday.

DS-R and DDIL had their 'meeting' with camp director (former owner) yesterday. Dh asked DDIL last night how they made out. Her only reply was, "Worse than we expected". So still not sure how much their lot rent went up. Know DD's went up $247 and ours is up $189. DD has a water front lot and they're charged at a higher rate. Do know that the new owners wanted to raise the fees on several campers that surround a small pond. But director told them, "NO! If you want you can fire me, but those are the smallest lots in the campground." They barely have room to park a car in front of their RV in all those spots.

Harmony, your gas in FL is about $1.00 cheaper per gallon than it is here. Last we paid on Tuesday was $4.59/gallon.

Dee - is that increase in lot usage per month or per year?

Everyone is up and the day is in progress. DS14 was delaying his morning shower because of fear of a grass spider in his shower. I resisted my initial response to laughter and was understanding of his fear and took care of it. However, there is just something that tickles my funny bone seeing this big strong male shying away from a tiny harmless spider. Of course, when the tables are turned and it is ME being afraid of a tiny mouse or harmless snake, that irrational fear is entirely different and not the least bit funny.

We had the most wonderful afternoon/evening with friends yesterday. We went on a very long boat ride "down river" to the next dam. It was a gorgeous day but hot, but the boat was moving. Miles and miles of mostly unspoiled river. Stopped off at a marina for gas and bathroom break. No rain until we got back after dh was done grilling. I didn't realize we would go so far - I didn't put sunscreen on but took it with me and applied while underway but got more "sun" than I wanted. We took steaks and they grilled green beans and made mashed sweet potatoes - what a meal! And the sky was gorgeous after the rain when we were heading home.

No workers here today - they are off on Monday. I'll head upstairs to work as soon as I have breakfast and do some more a.m. routine. I've s2s-ed...

What a lovely afternoon, Twins'. Reminds me of Keeping Up Appearances' Hyacinth and her hopes for "riverside supper with riparian entertainment", except that yours actually went right! So wise to have been prepared with sunscreen.

We're right at $3.50 to $3.60 for gas. I only know this because when a few stations dipped below $3.50, that was evidently the signal a local tv station was waiting for to air a morning special report. They interviewed people who had specifically shopped for gas while prices were high, rather than staying with a usual station, and whether they thought it had been helpful or the extra traveling took more gas and time to make it worthwhile. Generally, it was time that made the difference. if the person had time for it, they were happy with decisions to search.

I had neglected to mention yesterday that the morning service from the local church had been very good with a sermon that had me scribbling notes fast. Only glitch was that the mic for the choir didn't work. BUT the evening online service the night before, which I enjoy from a greater distance, became a target of "trolls" who tried to dominate and disparage the written prayer request comments. The minister handled it as graciously as he could. HRH was brainstorming some ideas on how to put a stop to that but still let serious people comment. The minister has a certificate in IT, so he may be capable of handling this very well before next time. Hope so.

It is the 4 grandboy-brothers first day of school today. I'll need to go over there and hear the opinions this evening. Hope everyone is content! (Of course they're not - summer's over! )

HRH didn't sleep well last evening and is sleeping in. I need to do housework that doesn't make noise! Let me think... .. I know decluttering could certainly be a smart path in the office area!

I have walked & fed the dog. Deer ate the applies I put at the field but were at the edge of the road did not make it to the field were gone
this morning. 60* - 104* here not muggy quite pleasant out this morning. Today I am coring and slicing apples to freeze. Gota formula the dog will eat with them! Some oatmeal was involved. LOL!

Glad I spiffed up the kitchen last night before bed it is a delight to get up to a clean kitchen especially after doing apples yesterday.
Floors need some attn. this week.
I will continue on the spare room revamping it is more fun now that most of the decluttering is done now yea!
It was mission sunday at our church yesterday.

I can put desk day back on it regular day now that my other things changed their schedule to earlier in the week.

Morning...

Was up and outside repotting some plants before it got too hot. I need another bag of soil which is in the garage so figured it was a good place to stop. Will finish up in the morning.

I've done a major clean up in my kitchen and vacuumed a good part of my house. Rearranged my laundry room which has been bugging me for a while so I am glad to get that done. Answered a few emails and finished making my list for WM.

Twins... a question for you. I have submitted my paper work for the DAR and have run into an interesting problem. As you know the DAR needs a copy of my birth certificate. No problem, I have one. Only it doesn't list my parents names on it. This is the birth certificate I've used for my entire life for anything that needed one. I've checked the 1950 census to see if I am listed with my parents, but I must have been born after it was done.

The DAR gal that I am working with says she's seen this before..no parents on the birth certificate, so she may have some ideas to prove who my parents are. However I have contacted the NJ Vital Statistics and ordered a rush for my birth certificate. Will be interesting to see what they send. The birth certificate that I have has been used to get my driver's and marriage licenses, school enrollment applications as well as my passport so this is a puzzle to me.

Off to make my WM trip. Want to beat the afternoon showers. Our gas here is running around $3.95, but haven't looked for today.

LadyM...I once posted a cartoon on my FB page of a man walking down the hallway getting ready to round the corner with a fly swatter in his hand. His wife had come screaming to him that there was a spider in the shower. The caption was the man saying...I can't believe she's so scared of a little bitty spider...and the view can see there is a giant size spider filling up the bathroom door. Its one of my favorites.

dog training lady came over for the fence - turned out that her collar was too loose and she was just getting a little bit of a message - now to work with her re: her boundaries.
well that wasn't the problem - younger dog ran right through it again. mmmm she is willing to take the risk

my ADHD brain has been struggling with visual clutter, perfectionist thinking that I have to do it "right" - I forget - anything is the right thing. By waiting for the perfect time or the perfect job then nothing gets done. instead of perfection go for good enough and it will still get done. (by the way this is me yelling to myself )

I need to make the dreaded list.

I took a picture of the 3 rooms I am working on

1. wash the cabinet in the kitchen
2. put drink cans in there and water bottles (they are all over the house)
I ended up tossing 36 smaller bottles of gatorade and a couple dozen cans of sparkling water - way past the date.
3. clean shelf above door with ladder
4. put Alsatian pottery on that shelf. I have a bunch of this style of pottery - pitchers bowls this item etc. on this shelf

5. FLOORS - DIRTY AND STICKY My kitchen is back to normal!!!

Next 5 nope I am done: I did clean up the maple syrup and the glass.

1. sweep and vacuum 3 season room as the floors are full of dog hair and stuff.
2. flip the laundry
3. put the ladder away

dust the wood trim on floor in kitchen
wash the floor in 3 season room
wash the trim (later tape it).

I checked the garden and I have lots of weeds again but tomorrow I will work there if the weather and my body cooperates.

Thanks to Blessed and her post on May 13th ("Decide on the next right thing"), I've accomplished a LOT this morning. Right now I'm waiting for 2 ears of corn to cook in the microwave so we can husk them and take the husks to the dumpster along with another very full/large bag. I cleaned our freezer a little while ago. Dh wants to winterize DD's RV later today (if it turns cooler) and she has things in her freezer/fridge that need to come to ours.

I was going to go switch our LOL over to the dryer twin while dh took the load to the dumpster. However, he left to go do it when I wasn't looking. Still have the container that will receive the corn husks that will need to go down. I'll do that when I fetch the laundry from the dryer.

Seems nice to have room in our freezer but I'm afraid that won't last long. AND to have it organized. I really need to reorganize the fridge as well.
