Name Things Tuesday

In Monday Mojo (smile) Twins' suggested "name 5 things" to go and do and come back through. (Gee, that rhymes)

Smart. Naming things gets us to admit that the chores are there in the first place (lol) and that they are specific!

Decluttering push went well here yesterday because there was a specific goal of boxes to point to, rather than a general hope.

BTW, a tada from yesterday was ordering glasses for HRH from an online company, doing measuring, etc. Odd but maybe helpful. If it works out well, I'll certainly recommend, but just don't know for a week or more.

I wish my 5 didn't have to be time-consuming today but they do. I'd like to be here more frequently :( but this is my day :

Finish grocery list
Desk Day (time consuming)
trash to cans
recycling to cans
grocery (time consuming)

Oh so many things to name today then! The big picture:

-Joseph here working already
-meeting at temple at 11 a.m.
-to things to take to post office, at least
-7:00 accountability group
-8:00 webinar if I get there.

In between, who knows? I try to stay out of the kitchen when they're working. He's putting up the undercabinet lighting now. Then whatever we decide about closures on the uppers. That's in dh's hands now. Once those things are done uppers can be loaded up more completely. I hope that drawer handles are all done today, that is what I'm waiting on to get the more fully loaded.

Right now:
-personal clean up
-start laundry
-make bed
-refill meds containers/take meds
-breakfast

I hope this list doesn't sink me, might need more coffee to get started today.

Morning...

Not sure what my 5 things will be today. My stomach flareup seems to be over. been a long 6 days.

I've already scheduled an appointment for Sweetie's driver license. We are having hurricane shutters attached to our home. Noise at best. However the fellow that is installing them broke his foot after he left here so I don't know when the job will get finished.

I need to do a grocery run and a stop at T arge. Have done most of my morning routines, but still need to make my bed. May be naughty and let that go today. I also have a lot of computer stuff to catch up on.

Yesterday was my first day of feeling normal, but I'm still eating easy and don't want to push much. Above my stomach area is still very sore to touch and yesterday when I did much movement it let me know.

Anyway its not as sensitive today as it was yesterday., so slow and easy is my moto for today.

I hope the things you have will come with ease and not be as time consuming as you imagine!

Naming things gets us to admit that the chores are there in the first place (lol) and that they are specific!

you know how creative ideas just pop into your head; well I suddenly got a vision of what my inside yard will be.

My goal Is to
keep mud down from dogs when they are in the inside yard
easy care and up keep
practical but easy on the eye

I figured it out except for the area between the small parterre garden area and the other side - (4 f't wide area.)
I figured out the veg garden for next year
and what I need to add to the outside garden and fake stream bed.
So exciting!

time to do the curtain hardware.

dh keeps going back to saying how sad this and that is for children and young adults, now a days. He feels that they don't have: such and such like he did. I tend not to look at things that way. I feel each generation will have their pluses and minuses; as well as the things they love to do. I tried to explain that his own parents loved their dances and radio and sitting on the front porch and that when tv came around that sitting on the stoop to talk to neighbors started to fade. I am sure they felt we lost something but my d mom in law saw the positive - she had 13 grandchildren and a house full of laughter.

I tend to feel that We all grow in our generation and learn from other generations. It's not meant to be that we stay in one time. I grew up sitting on a stoop and my mom playing her mandolin - our neighbors coming on and off our stoop to talk. When we moved we didn't have a front stoop. So we went in the yard. It wasn't the same as a neighborhood I grew up - with kids playing non stop up and down the street, while the adults chatted and laughed. the plus for us in our new home was that there tons of woods to discover and walk in with our dogs with the new friends we met. I loved it too. I do wish he could see the good more often than he does but he is a good man; so I am happy.

I like that zinnias were picked for Temple. That's so nice. Hope they stay colorful a long time.

Ooooooooh, I like this:

... you know how creative ideas just pop into your head; well I suddenly got a vision ...

lovely. I need one, too. (waiting. Looking up in the air. Hmmm ...)

Everything done on my 5 except recycling, which, if I'm lucky, I may get teenaged help with this evening.

Going to the grocery was the usual anonymous time for me and for HRH. We don't even see the same people who were there last time and we'd never seen them before either. It's so different from any time in my past.

We walked out behind (and I do mean behind) a lady who was dressed in workout clothes that have obvious and efficient under-derrière cupped thicker elastic. So it was like two light-colored spandex circles with wiggle, under-curved in an outline of dark non-wiggle. :| HRH had opinions. His progeny forever are forbidden to wear such a thing in public, and I am personally responsible to insure they never do, in perpetuity and over the generations, until elastic isn't made any more.

Reminder for U.S. folks :
Have you ordered your Covid tests if needed for the fall/winter? Labor Day deadline for our provided ones.

Coming back through after meeting, I also mailed a couple of items. I kinda had hopes of going to the social security office to drop off a form but it was lunchtime and I didn't want to go when there was a crowd.

Things are rocking along here. Dh called and said he wanted to call our contractor and get an ETA for finishing because he "wants it done." I explained to him that the contractor only has 1.5 guys working on it right now, and we're waiting on other people for some things. And for him for the upper cabinet closures. The things he ordered on Sunday got here today and they're not even the right thing, they are soft drawer closures. I just checked and Lowes doesn't even have enough of the handles to finish the upper cabinets if we go that route.

I'm going to go upstairs and do some genealogy work. I need it!

I had bought mounting hardware yesterday for the top curtain rods but I don't think they will be strong enough over time. I will try it. I wrote the company to see if I can just get the hardware.

d twins - glad things are rocking along.
My dh wanted people done and out of the house too.
Praying you find the handles and that it gets to your home soon.
have fun with your genealogy work

hi d harriet
I love zinnias too!
sending the creative fairies to you asap!!! May they sprinkle you with creative fairy dust that gives you solutions and ideas that fit your vision!
I used to love seeing people I knew at the store.
oh my on the outfit.

okay time to get back to putting up the remainder cheaper mountings. Hoping it stays up.
I also have to vacuum and rinse the floor again in there.
