I am enjoying a slow start to my day. I was up at 6am just because I wanted to be awake while the house was quiet. I have steadily been working on setting up the new laptop. All the tweaks take time. Now I am working on finding & copying my customizing quick access toolbars for MS Office. After that I will add the cloud printer. Then swap the Ctrl and Fn keys. Then...??

DMIL hair stylist has a family emergency so hair appts has been cancelled today. DMIL was scheduled to get a perm so that frees 4 hours up for DH.

Actually I think Monday is also "Labour" Day in Canada, Twins. Am I correct in this thinking, Cathy/Bittersweet? At any rate, everyone have a safe and good weekend, celebrating all those who labor.

I had my thinking cap on during the night and another solution to a storage problem came to me. Dh and our neighbors will implement it in a little while. Right now dneighbor has gone to fetch some gravel to put around our electric/water poles on the other side of our RV. They did theirs a few weeks ago and it looks so nice.

Dh is giving wagon rides (drawn by the tractor) in a couple hours. Right now he's cutting up a melon he bought at the farm stand (here -it's their last week here). And then he's going to cook a couple of a different kind of squash -one I've never seen. Guess it's more like a sweet potato. We'll see.

Been puttering around and picking up and adding to my list of 'things done'. Also just ordered a new B lackstone griddle and cover to replace our grill. Think we'll use it a whole lot more. It should be delivered on Tuesday. Actually ended up being less for the 2 at A river than it was at H ome D epot. I'm anxious to get moving with the transformation here.

Sure your dh will enjoy having those 4 hours added to his day, Lady M. Hope he can relax part of them.

Morning...

LadyM...Look in your SUV manual because on some SUV's there are places in your car where you can charge your key's battery.

I've been up and busy. We had hurricane shutters installed yesterday and I wanted to vacuum the lanai so we didn't drag any of the dirt inside the house. My morning routines are do. I also wrote a birthday card and got it ready to mail. Next up is to make my brunch smoothie. My stomach was wonky again yesterday so I am being very careful what I eat. I suspect my IBS is contributing to the stomach stuff.

This afternoon is sports day for me. College football has begun, plus the US Open, tennis, is going on. And the space shuttle is suppose to take off a little after 2 p.m. so there is plenty to watch. I look forward to fall for these reasons, plus cooler weather will eventually find it's way here.

Twins, our football team won Thursday night, but I don't think it was much of a challenge. Looking at the kids in the stadium all dressed in yellow jerseys made me think how things have change. Back when I went to the ball games at UT, girls were dressed in dresses, stockings and heels. I remember wearing wool skirts with blouses because coming from the North I didn't have any transitional clothes to wear and our seats faced the sun. Our dates had to buzz us from our lobby because boys were not allowed up on our floors. And never did it occur to us, the girls, that we could attend the game by ourselves.

Dee dson has a grill like that not sure the brand, then they got a smaller one for his gal to use and for camping.
I have been up since five slept well even dreamt do not remember those.
I have been writing, walked and had bfast.
A bit more writing then will decide what's next.
I have spaghetti squash & chicken legs outside cooking on the deck in the crock pot.
Turned the squash & chicken legs over it is cooking along well * easier than grilling
can you say planned leftovers!

Rested air quality is not the best here today.
Might need to clean up in the next! LOL!

I was awake while dh was getting ready for Torah study - between seven and eight - and thought I'd get on up, then thought I'd rest a minute longer and woke up at ten a.m. I was exhausted last night and achy. We still have a lot to do to get the kitchen and the rest of the house back together.

This morning I must take the dress for the New Orleans wedding to the tailor for hemming. I have a week and a couple of days but Monday a holiday. I think they will be able to do it in time. It completely got past me yesterday.

I love it that LadyM's fried pies raised so much $$! Good for you and all that practice to get them right! Your family will be after you to keep making them now.

RR, I agree it wasn't much of a game. We got busy with the kitchen clean up/supper clean up and completely forgot to turn the TV on. They had already run up the score by then. Still, it was exciting to see college football again.

Dee, I guess I didn't realize that, but I think Cathy posted on Thurs about the long weekend, too? Glad you can implement your storage idea immediately. I often take a few days with the pluses and minuses and by then, the urge is gone.

DD11 and I went to the community center to see what we won in the silent auction fundraiser. We were out bid on most items but came home with 3 wins. DD11 was sad that she didn't win something that she bid on. I explained in silent auctions you need to check back a few minutes before the auction is over if you really want to win the bid on an item. #LifeLessons

I am making progress on troubleshooting and fixing yesterday's techie issue.
** the tweaks and multiple updates are done on the new laptop.
** my phone is playing nice with the sim card.

next up - suv fob troubleshooting

just a quick hi - HI - we were out last night with dh's d brothers/sisters/in laws (which I am one :D ) and had the most loveliest time.
I was out with d brother most of the morning and had a wonderful time. he came here as well and helped move the hutch back and put up the screen door from the laundry room to the outside. Other repairs as well.
in other words - lots of fun the whole day which is making me move very slowly today - oh yes - and contentedly moving through my morning

my brother is coming to pick up my old car. He should be here in just a sec.
