Parades, picnics and CFL football games! Everything is closed other than pharmacies and gas stations and corner stores. No mail delivery. No banks are open other than ATM machines. School starts tomorrow.

This year there will be a deep sadness as we deal with a mass killing out west. As of last night there were at least 10 people found dead with at least another 15 injured. 2 men are suspected. I haven't seen or heard any updates yet.

I did all the dishes last night. The only laundry is whatever we wore yesterday, so a small load. I think we are having meatball subs here. Totally not traditional, but we had leftover spaghetti sauce from last night.

It was totally overcast here yesterday with very little rain and no sun at all. Hopefully it will rain today because it's overcast again.

I'm not sure what I will do today. There is nothing but a meal plan on my calendar. An entire day with no planned activities is rare.

Thank you Cathy! We are going to SW for paint - still on sale - and then going to the river at dfriends' place.

I am glad to have a day without kitchen work but needing some time w/o people!

It's pouring rain here. Lots of info on the radio regarding parades that will now be cancelled (very small towns) and events that were outside now being inside at various wineries or rec centers.

Dh asked me what I was doing today. I said "Reading, computer or cross stitch." He will be watching football after 12.

I made smoothies for the first meal of the day. I haven't made smoothies in a while, so I had some remembering to do. Overall, I'm pleased how they came out but next time I'm not adding any blackberries due to their seeds.

I've created the daily journal pages for this week.

Next up - garden therapy.

Up on time, did a work out last nite bs was good this morning.
Hip & back is better, yea, did my stretching and my walk saw 3 deer.
Bfast is done.
Bed is made.
Planning done.
Did some journaling.
Good weather here today the air quality is much better here today yea!

sad to hear there was a knifing yesterday - so sad. it doesn't make sense. I saw the 2 men attacked 2 different areas. praying for all the families and their friends and the people in the community. very sad.

Friday and Saturday were a bit stressful for me. Good things happened but I had visual clutter and had to take care of things that I didn't expect.
I keep thinking: you keep on trying!!! Keep it up.
dd older helped me whittle down from my big thinking. she simplified my to do list to doing the visual clutter and keep up with the routines as she said if I didn't do that then I would fall behind.

I harvested sweet potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, and summer squash from the garden today.

SUV troubleshooting continues. It is a holiday weekend so getting it into the shop isn't going to happen. While we are waiting for the dealership to open, we are trying this and that. DH and I went to the next town and bought some jumper cables (DH can't find his). We tried jump starting the SUV with zero success. We discussed removing the battery and installing a new battery ourselves, but it involves removing several other parts & hoses to get access to the battery. DS14 in his extreme teenage wisdom told us that is why we should buy an older vehicle without all the bells and whistles because older vehicles are less complicated and easier to work on.
