waiting for fall!
Are you beginning to feel like fall may be around the corner?
We are having cooler nights and warm or hot days!
Pumpkins are starting to turn orange at my home.
I always feel there are times that feel like it's a new beginning! Spring, Summer, the beginning of school and Fall!
Don't forget to tell all of us about your Ta da's!
hope you have a wonderful day!!!

two fall poems (I love children poetry)
by Marguerite Gode
A little red apple
Hung high in a tree.
I looked up at it
And it looked down at me.
“Come down, please,” I called.
And what do you suppose?
That little red apple
Dropped right on my nose!

FALL BY WINIFRED C. MARSHALL
They're coming down in showers,
The leaves all gold and red;
They're covering the little flowers,
And tucking them in bed
They've spread a fairy carpet
All up and down the street;
And when we skip along to school,
they rustle 'neath our feet

Good morning!
Blessedw2 - Thank you for the start and sharing the excitement for the fall season.
My day is off to a good start. This is another normal day (said with much relief). I am trying to remain aware of my stress level and adding more stress reducing, fun, and enjoyable moments throughout my day. After doing the first 4 routines this morning and delivering DD11 to school, I took myself to the garden. Spending time in the garden is my #1 stress reducing activity.
I would like to add more stress-reducing activities. Do you have favorites that you do?

My dog is four we walked around the block today.
Coyotes ertc. in the area could be the reason she does not want to walk more.
I can finish my steps later doing things I have on my plan.

I need to get OUTSIDE walking too, Nancy. Good job btw! Need to get dh to go with me so he can start regaining his strength especially after his heart procedure on Monday. Only 4 more sleeps and we can do this! Understand that there is now an increased police presence at this hospital since yesterday's lockdown and subsequent suicide of the person who made a video threat.
Dh is outside puttering around. I need to putter myself over to the kitchen sink and do a load of dishes. Can't believe how quickly they piled up.
Last night just as we had closed our drape to the patio door there was a knock. People who live down the road from dd's (here) were here with a package for me. They have a booth at the antique co-op where I worked for so many years and are friends with the now former manager/owner. She had put away a ceramic angel for me back during Covid. I've never been able to get out there to see her and pick it up. She sent it via them yesterday. I bought this angel as sort of in memory of our DShelley. It's much larger than I thought. I really like it but am thinking I may give it to our Dgd27 or I'd really like her to put it in our new GGD's room (if she wants) as a token of her Angel Grandma watching over her. Will have to ask DGD.
I've been working on getting a lot of medical stuff done this morning. Think I now have several papers ready (all in a file folder) to go to the car.

Morning…
I was up early as I had a dermatology appointment. The spot on my face had to be biopsy and then removed. I’ll get the results later next week.
Best thing about being retired for me is the ability to sleep as late as I want after 25+ years of getting up at 4:30 in the morning. However I seldom sleep past 7:00 because I feel guilty about wasting my morning. My exercise classes start at 8:00 so I’m back to getting up a little past 6 M,W and F. I also stay up much later at night now that I’m retired. When I worked I was in bed and sleeping by 9. Now I am seldom asleep by ten. I’m usually in bed, but reading or listening to stories on my phone, so sometimes I stay up till midnight depending on how good the story is.
LadyM … my stress relief is either reading nor listening to music. For many years especially when teaching I seldom was able to read for pleasure while teaching so I spent a good part of my summers doing so. I don’t watch much tv, but have favorites like Alone, Life below Zero or Mountain Men. However the last season of The Handmaidens Tales has just started and I’ve been waiting for it for over a year.
My grandsons birthday is today so I have a few presents to wrap. Also bought my DGD a few fun things like stickers and sticker books so she won’t feel left out. I also bought flowers for my ddil.
I have laundry to start and chicken and hamburgers I bought the other day to wrap and freeze. Just finished my brunch and once my second cup of coffee is done I’ll start getting the laundry going.

just a quick hello - I am sorry I wish I could say hello in depth.
d cleaning ladies are here - wonderful.grateful!!! I should have them do the family room but I had to lock up the dogs in there as the landscapers were outside.
d landscape people were here - always a blessing.
next look for trash everywhere - garage first.
order cat food
cat litter
okay:
I have a list for outside.
what I want to do: pull flagstone and pull the dirt that filled in over the last few years. redo flagstone and put down pea gravel in between until next year.
what I know I should do: finish cutting the mini pumpkins down
pull weeds in back zone some more
plant the new hydrangeas.
see if there are more sunflowers ready for picking.
tomorrow: make sunflower seeds

Hello blessed. Hello to everyone. Blessed, thanks for the lovely opening. I enjoyed reading the poems.
I should put my fall wreath up on the door.
Our texture is on the porch and slabs. It was a harder job than either of us thought. My muscles are screaming at me and my hands are shaking from holding the heavy hopper gun and pulling the trigger. It really was a bugger of a job. I am covered in what looks like plaster spots all over and my hair has lots of white in it.
DH was so wet when he came in after me I had to peel off his socks and shoes. He also brought lots of grass. I tried to dry the floor real quick, all through the laundry room and the hall and the kitchen and the family room. I helped as much as I could but towards the end I had to handle the hopper gun to him because I couldn't lift it any more. So he did that part and I got down and did the hand troweling. I think it will look nice when it's all painted.
It is 86° and we were working in the bright sunlight which was 'curing' the material before we could get it down and then it wouldn't go through the gun. DH had to keep mixing it up to keep it from curing. He is all done in and so am I. Way harder job than we are easily able to do now.
Cleanup was a bugger too and I helped as much as I could until I just couldn't do any more and I came in and collapsed into my chair. I need to soak in the bathtub and get some of this stuff off me but I don't have the energy to do it now. I'm trying to rehydrate but my tummy is upset from the heat and the work, so I'm taking small sips.
We think this is the last biggest job to do with the house. Repainting/staining the driveway will not be near as hard as this, but other than a big cleanout this is all I can think that needs doing. A bunch of landscaping too, but after we get the painting of the porch done we'll have the worst done.

Harmony - You definitely earned a break! WOW OH WOW! Congratulation on having that difficult job accomplished!
I made a big pot of vegetable soup - all the vegetables in the soup are from my garden.
I cleaned underneath one of the rabbit cages. fact - DD11 is slacking on her rabbit care. We will talk about it when she gets home from school.
I took everything out of one of the kitchen freezer drawers and washed it well. Then I decluttered, organized, and put things back into that drawer.
In between doing things I have been monitoring DS14 homeschool efforts.
DH left a couple hours ago to be with his DMom.
