Good morning!
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning how to dance in the rain.
I'm dancing in the rain today.
7:30 - DD11 to school (Done)
8:30 - leave for the city
9:30 - DH appt with surgeon to develop plan for dual surgeries to remove lump and fix hernia.
3:30 - pick DD11 up from school and immediately leave for the city
4:30 - DD11 meeting with counselor. I suspect this will be a difficult meeting. Because DD11 has increased her fit throwing, I am ready to try a new method of dealing with these.
6:00 - pick up a large $$$ curb side order from Sam's
7:00 - attend first PTO meeting
DMIL is changing quickly in appearance. It is a normal process of life/death. Her body is shutting down. She continues to rest comfortably in the hospital bed at her home and doesn't seem to be aware of anything happening around her.

I'm up and going. I need to run a few small errands today.: grocery for a few things, cleaners, and maybe drugstore if the last script is ready. (I have them all grouped so I can pick up together, but had to wait for this one.)
I need ingredients to make kugel for the temple break the fast tomorrow night, and an aluminum pan so it's disposable. This morning brought an email saying I should bring it to the temple between 11 and 2 tomorrow, trouble is, I don't make it until I go home around noon, and then I bring it hot at four or so. So I'll do what I usually do, lol.
I also have a Zoom this afternoon with my mentor - I think I'm at the point I could be using my time better, but no matter. And will need to have an early dinner and be at temple at 6:30 tonight. And busy/out of the house tomorrow, and fasting tomorrow.
Thinking about you and dh, LadyM, family and your dmil on her journey.
I put our garbage can out earlier and they're already picking up.

Morning…
LadyM… your description of your dmil sounds like my mom’s. However my moms internal body is strong and medical team just examined her and extended her three month care. She is still eating and her body functions remains strong. When I was home Alma her caregiver told me she felt my mom has at least a good three months left in her. I trust her opinion because she’s been a caregiver for well over 16 years.
I told Sweetie I didn’t want to do much today. Going through the storm, taking acre of both the home insurance stuff and keeping an eye on Sweetie has been stressful. We cleaned up the outside of our home the best we could without water before we left to come here. The power is suppose to be turned back on by Saturday but we will still be without internet.
I lost all the food in my freezer and refrigerator but my insurance adjuster told me to make a list of all that I could remember that were in both. As look would or wouldn’t have it, I had just been to Sams and spent well over $200. I bought a lot of fish and meat there. However I have the receipt that lists everything I bought so I can use that.
LadyM …So sorry to hear about your dd’s problems and glad to know she is working with a counselor. I know many of the kids I worked with over the years had similar issues. Bottom line was most outburst were driven by fear. Some were realistic while others were not. Glad she has someone you trust that is working with her.
I am waving to y’all…I need this down time to prepare myself for what’s ahead. My community was really destroyed …and the landscape will take years to rebuild. The two islands that we enjoyed are demolished and it will be years I suspect before we can enjoy our beaches and areas again.

bathroom day here - ooo hoo
hello d twins - I was wondering what woke me up - Robin Williams voice for the she village - wake up PWYC! thank you for starting us
wishing you a gentle and seamless day!!! you are up and running - good job!
hello d lady - I wish you a gentle day.
praying for your d mil. I am thinking of your dh.
hello d rose
I hope today is not as stressful. you have been through a lot.
it's horrible what has happened. No one knew that the direction would change. I think, unfortunately, we all learned (and I hope the weather teams and powers that be) that nature has it's own way. we can predict but we can't really know. Everyone was shocked by this and it created a dangerous situation for people. I am praying for everyone.
Sending you strength. How is your son's family? any damage there?
We keep saying - never again - any sign of a hurricane coming down in the area (prediction or not) then my family will leave whether my mom wants to go or not. I am glad that dd younger could take in our friends dad. If they hadn't been there he would have been alone after such an ordeal.
The pictures of the devastation doesn't give justice to how bad it is.

okay timer in hand!!!
5 x 5
1. meds
2. s2s well my version of garden attire. Always stunning. (not the victorian version of the woman in a beautiful broad rimed hat and ribbon in a flowing dress and miniature scissors. Rather the junky shorts, garden sweatshirt or top, dirty garden gloves, old gym shoes, and hair that is all over the place

(oh don't forget the smudge of dirt on the cheek).
3. visual put away in kitchen and in family room.
4. water plants and animals
5. flip flop laundry
Tuesday's weeklies
bathrooms
Habit goal for today:
1. Take it there now
2. like things together
3. trash patrol
4. see a smudge and wipe it off right away instead of waiting for a certain cleaning day.
5. make dinner.

OK, time for me to stand up and get going.
(I note that standing and moving was much easier yesterday when I wore the knee brace. Unfortunately, the knee brace only works for me when wearing skirts, my pants push down on my kneecap when I have it on and then my knee hurts, although that only happens when sitting so maybe that's a BGS solution!)
Yesterday I was slow moving in the morning but had a successful day. And I was dressed by 8 (because I needed to start laundry, including my PJs.) Sunday was the similar (although I had church in the morning so that counted as moving first thing.)
Both mornings I had trouble getting out of bed. Today it occurred to me that it might be time to cut my melatonin back. Near the beginning of September I wasn't sleeping well so doubled it (to half a pill from a quarter pill) and have enjoyed wonderful sleep all month, popping out of bed most mornings, often before my alarm. Yesterday, the alarm woke me. Today I woke an hour before the alarm but took another 2 hours to drag myself from the bed, but I slept deeply for the first hour of that until the alarm went off. I'll try a quarter pill. I may have to double it again when dh gets back as his restlessness disturbs my sleep (I've love these past 2 weeks!)
So now, shower to shoes. Then start in with my Pomodoro Timer to make sure I keep switching things up to keep my knee moving.

Oh how I wish melatonin would work for me, Kathryn. When I take it I seem to be even more wide awake. BTW it is so good to see you posting -we've missed you!!
In the department of "PROCRASTINATION": I've had a letter from medicare regarding my suit against I KEA. Kept putting off scanning it, copying it and getting it sent to my law firm in FL. Then today when I set an hour's time limit to get it done found I first had to find it. Of course it was right where I put it for convenience.

First I sorted everything on the tray on top of the printer. Was just preparing to open the top of the printer when I decided to first read the letter. On the back were the words: CC: M oody L aw. So obviously they already have a copy. DONE. This has been on my mind for nearly 2 weeks -needlessly. I expect I'll be hearing something from the law firm before too long. I don't expect much but thinking they should at least cover my medical expenses which are now well over $24K. By the time the law firm takes their 33 1/3% and medicare and our health insurance are paid back I doubt there'll be much if anything left. We'll see. It's out of my control but I know who is in control.
I am loving the new set up in our RV. Obviously one can't do a lot of changing around in these but it just seems much more open. And for whatever reason it seems easier to keep it neat and tidy.
Have an appointment at 2 for an oil change and tire rotation. Need to wash my hair first, have lunch and get the dishes done.
I had good plans yesterday to put dh's meds up for the next 3 weeks. That was until I got to only Friday of the first week and realized I was out of Potassium for him. Went online and saw it was due to be refilled so clicked that only to find it needed a renewal. But I guess they got it pretty fast as I got an email last night that they were processing it. So it's all good.
Thinking of Lady M's family today. Hugs and prayers.
