It's November 1 - I actually heard Christmas music in a commercial last night on TV. So let's move on to the last two months, last 1/6 of the year.

What are your plans for the day? For the week? For the month, and rest of the year?

It's November. For me it means it's getting real that I am going to turn this work in and I need to get it done and polished. And accept that it's not going to be perfect. A hard lesson for me. I've mostly had a three day break - the weekend and yesterday. I did pick it up a little on Sunday but was pretty inefficient because I was downstairs with laptop, not upstairs with multiple monitors and a real keyboard.

This morning I'm going for body work. I also need to do a.m. routine - I've been lollygagging about this morning. I've s2s and had breakfast. Need to take out garbage before I go too.

We always have a lot of trick or treaters here, probably more than fifty or sixty? I always wish I had counted. It's a flat circle with houses close together on both sides of the street, so we get extras too. The more the merrier but thank goodness we finish up on the early side. We were visiting with neighbors by eight. Ruby had fun and got lots of attention, one little girl circled back because she wanted to pet her again. Dh and I just collapsed and I never cleaned up behind us much.

Need to get our plastic pumpkins put away for next year!

I think it's hard to break that perfectionist gene! it's so so good that you have learned progress and good enough over the perfection (lol there is no such thing lol but I keep thinking if I just do ... one more thing... etc. etc. ) I am glad you had some time away from your project - good for you!

wow that is a lot of tricker treaters !!! again how nice to have such a wonderful time with Ruby! so cute about the little girl wanting to pet her again. adorable!

Good morning!

Twins - Thanks for the start today. I have a hard time wrapping my mind around it being the end of the year already. I did the November calendaring but planning further is more than I seem capable of doing. I frequently seem to be peddling as fast as I can just to make it through each day.

My focus for today -
** DD11 public school - Delivered in good spirits. Yesterday I made 2 trips to the school when they called about DD11 forgetting items. Hopefully today she is more organized. DD11 carries TWO backpacks with her so it boggles my mind that she could not have everything she needs.
** DS14 homeschool. I need to up my effort in planning Spanish, history, and Computer Tech assignments for November. ELA, Math, and Science assignments are planned for the month and are working well. I noted with interest today's ELA assignment is pronouns which seems to be a hot topic button.
** Cooking for tomorrow. It is my turn to prepare the food for feeding the church family (100-150 people) tomorrow night. It is a simple menu that I have prepared before so the unknowns are minimum. Today I'll be cooking 10lbs of chili meat and making sure all other ingredients for the meal are out of the freezer and on hand.
** Pick a corner to decide its purpose, declutter, deep clean, organize and set it up for success.

Arrrgghhhh....lost my post -now to see if I can recreate it!

Dsonil just finished packing very light for his trip up north tomorrow. He gets into Rochester NY about 6:30pm. Then he and dh will leave around 7am Thursday morning. Have to admit I'm a tad nervous about dh traveling right now. Know cardiologist told him yesterday that he's back in Afib. He's changing his meds yet again, but dh says he's not doing the change till he gets down here.

Trying to keep my mind off the fact that our Tuxedo cat is going to see the vet today and might need blood work and x rays. She has been limping and favouring her back right leg. Dh felt it and it isn't broken. 15 minutes until I have to leave.

I was on A river early this morning ordering cat food and a cat tree and cat treats for all 3 cats. We pick up cat #3 next Tuesday and she will be recovering from getting spayed. The shelter doesn't spay them until they get adopted. She is approximately 1 year old and looks like a Tuxedo, but she has brown striped fur instead of solid black. We haven't picked a new name yet. Neither one of us like her current name.

Dh will be having penne with pesto tonight. I will be having penne with spaghetti sauce and meatballs.

Absolutely NO kids here last night, although dh had 3 or 4 customers coming and going. Dropping off tires, picking up cars... all of them talking on the driveway.

I was up in the nite did stretching with the 5:00 a m show then went back to bed up again now.
It has been raining out off and on glad b/c we can use it.

Had lunch tasty chicken pot pie filling on bread.
BS seems to be regaining some normalcy yea!

Got under the fridge oven & china hutch.

Home again. I need to stop lollygagging and get some things done downstairs before I can take myself to my office upstairs. I'm setting a timer to give myself a few more minutes of lollygagging, then 45 min of work.

What is with me? I didn't get started on clean up until TOTH, and worked :25 - a Pomodoro. I think all that's left when the timer goes off is to make the bed.

Whew! Cat is okay, just seems to be a sprain of some sort. She is on pain meds for a week and the vet suggests that she stay inside for the entire week "if possible".

Cathy - Glad your furkids will recover with a few days of reduced activity. I would love to see a picture of all your furkids when everyone is settled in.

Homeschool is done for the day. DS14 confidence is growing in accomplishing his assignments. IXL says he is doing ELA at 12th grade level and his frustration with Algebra has disappeared. On most days now DS14 is tackling the daily assignments without needing my help. Each of the curriculums has daily videos to explain each part of the assignments in detail.

Two years ago we had a horrific ice storm that happened before we had a freeze. The leaves were still on the trees, so the weight of the ice on the green tree leaves broke many of the trees. ANYway, two years later we are still recovering from that storm. We gave the trees some time to see if they could recover and some of the trees have grown new limbs and are looking okay. Other trees will never recover, so we are in the process of cutting them down. DH has been cutting a tree a day and hauling off the wood/limbs. I'm encouraging DH to pace himself and not push so hard. He turns 70 years old in a few months and still tackles physical demanding projects.

I rode with DH to haul off a trailer load of tree limbs. The limbs do an excellent job of reducing the erosion in the gullies on some land we have. While DH unloaded limbs from the trailer, I explored the gullies. I loved being deep in the gullies with the only sounds being the squirrels playing in the trees that form a canopy over the gully. I immediately found myself making plans to move there. Note to self: No. No. NO! However, it was fun to fantasize a bit.
