you know I have to put a poem up every so often - especially when it comes to the seasons.

November comes,
November goes,
and the first white snows.
with night coming early,
and dawn coming late,
and ice in the bucket
and frost on the gate.
The fire burn
and the kettle sing,
and the earth sinks to rest
until the next spring.

listening to Christmas music

time to bring out the timer -
I pulled the Monday weekly chores and the daily routine so that dh can work with me on it. He would love to get rid of the cleaning ladies after Christmas and until May. I said that we have to work through what needs doing together so that I can make it happen for him. I would love to save the money during this time.

I have the grocery store to go to
leaves to rake.

Ugh, I couldn't get to sleep last night for worrying about how to finish and whether to go to Nashville and when and how and my mind going on and on. I was up at 7:15 or so this morning - just talked to dd for 30 minutes but did a few things while I talked. Just showered and I'm having my brunch now.

My phone didn't charge overnight - I accidently unplugged the charger last night. I have it plugged in now, and I can plug it in when I get upstairs.
I need to forget trying to pick off the easy things now and get down to the stuff I don't think I have enough research for. I typically pick off low hanging fruit and work my way up until I have to tackle the harder stuff, but I need to get my mind settled on this.

Warm weather yesterday when the sun was out - almost too warm on the deck by the river at times. We ended up driving over the mountain (state forest, cumberland trail) to a rural community diner for dinner. I wish I had more notice - I took dramamine but it wasn't but 30 min or so before we left but I did okay. This road would have done me in. Quite the "adventure."

I gotta get upstairs and face these hard things.

No Christmas music here. I definitely keep it until after November 11th, Remembrance Day. But even after that, I attempt to keep it unplayed until Advent 1 or December 1, whichever is first. This year I'll be practicing our Hollywood Holiday Music songset for the 24th, so will be singing it, but not listening to recorded music until the Sunday.

Of course, the weather here doesn't seem Christmassy at all. Another sunny day, cooler (high 50s, down from the 70s yesterday) and windy, but definitely more September-like than November-like.

The time change hit me hard in a weird way. My meals yesterday were times as if we had turned the clocks ahead so I had breakfast at 2 p.m. body time, dinner at 8:15 body time and went to bed at midnight body time. So 1p.m., 7:15, and 11. This morning, my alarm came far too early and I didn't get out of bed until 8 a.m.

I wondered if I was sick (I have a bit of a sore throat which might be the dryness of the apartment but I'm staying fully masked when around people just in case), since I was achy as well as tired and was dizzy when I got into bed last night and through the night. Normal temperature, normal blood pressure, and once I started moving slowly and steadily, everything cleared up except for the mild sore throat.

I ate atrociously yesterday so it could be sluggish from that, and I also took 2mg of melatonin so will try cutting that back tonight since that makes me drag in the morning.

Despite all this, I'm now up and dressed, bed stripped and the sheets are in the washer, the next load of laundry in the washer, clothes on the drying rack put away, the final load of laundry waiting to go on, fresh towels out, and plants watered.

Given it is only 10:30 (I keep staring at the time because it feels like 12:30 to my body), I'm doing very well for someone who is vowing to go slow and steady today because I might be coming down with something!

I like the poem you posted, blessed. When I read the next part about you listening to Christmas music, I guess I had not thought that far ahead because my reaction was :o :) .

Jumping in where I am. Or maybe I should say carefully stepping in -- no jumping for me until I'm healed from recent surgery. I'm not cuop for this month but am for October & you all touched my heart when I read your posts wishing me well both here & in J&C. Thank you so much! I'm glad it's over & am feeling better every day.

My focus today will be menu plans. I have some ideas in my head but want to get them down on paper. Meals that I made ahead & froze are almost gone.

~~~~~ Waving to everyone. Hope you all have a wonderful day!
Twins - Thanks for the start today.
I'm cheering for everyone's efforts in getting it done today.
I have done a decent job of not sidetracking this morning. I have been slowly & consistently checking off one thing after another. DSisIL dropped by for a visit and stayed for 30 minutes. That did pause homeschooling lessons, but thankfully we easily restarted after she left.
I have no idea what I'm cooking for the family today. I need to get a clue and get it started.
I have raked up some grass and leaves in a pile for my morning stretch should have done it yesterday when it was nice and sunny out
but I did not it rained so was wet out got it ready for when I take the can to the curb for Tues. trash pick up hoping it will fit.
Glad that is done. Put on my yoga pants for that glad they fit enough to get on now.
Got redressed for other things today.
Glad I spiffed up the kitchen after my soup for dinner.
Had a before bed nap yesterday rolling my eyes.
Sort of glad I did not sign up for the sun nite Bible study type class I do more with morning ones. Just saying. :roll:
It is a good week for soup colder temps later in the week.
Thinking what I can do the first part of the week ahead of that.
QT Journaling and planning is done.
Waving to all.
I pray your sore throat will just simply go away, Kathryn.
Dh has taken to trying to sleep in the bed. Trouble is he's moving all the time which of course keeps me awake. Try not to let him know -he' s so under the weather it's not funny. He's huddled under a blanket and I have the fan going over me in the office. I'm sure there's a middle ground somewhere but not sure where it is. Just waiting for him to tell me just what it is he wants to do. Stay/go/call cardiologist/call cardiologist here??????
I'm finding myself 'grouchy' over having to remake the bed each morning. Used to have to just pull up my side and perhaps 2 seconds to straighten the other side. Now I almost have to start from scratch. There, I'm through complaining. I know it's not his fault.
I did one LOL last night and I just finished taking care of that. Have a load of whites in the dryer and then I should be done for the week (or thereabouts). Finished loading the dishwasher but do have a large crockpot to wash. I just now finished my breakfast and it's nearly 11:30. Feel like you, Kathryn.
We're trying to do a menu plan here as well. Told dd we need to do that if only so I know what to fix and what needs buying.
Called our hair dresser to see if I could get dh in for a cut and his toenails cut Friday when I go for a perm. I think he's not there today so left a message.
I need to go to the grocery store at some point today -especially for milk, bread and soda for dh. I don't wanna!
