It's finishing day! Finish those projects, along with finishing the week off.

What's in your sights that you can finish off today? Holiday crafts? Decorations? Baking or cooking ahead, as Kathryn did last night?

Busy morning here. Dcleaning lady will be here in a little more than thirty minutes and we're leaving later, time to be determined, but after lunchtime.

So I need to finish straightening up for dcleaning lady, and later, packing.

Dh took my car this morning, he wants to see if he can get stronger headlights on it. They seem so puny although it's in part that our eyes are getting older. I've been keeping fog lights on too but haven't had to drive in the dark since I thought of that, so I don't know how much a difference it might make. He's worried about mountain roads after dark where we're going. And he's getting body work at eleven-thirty.

Hard to get to sleep last night - I was achy. Took ibuprofen and benydryl to get comfortable and sleep.

and ugh. Dfriend texted us to remember swim suits this weekend for hot tub. I need to do some, ahem, personal grooming, if I'm doing that.

Time to get to work, I'm so glad I got some things done yesterday, too.

Later, dcleaning lady doing her magic. Dh did not find the headlights for the car, need to be ordered. He's in great room, sitting. He tried to change the light bulb in laundry room and I was sure I had a replacement but can't find it. It was marked "Laundry room."

Hope you have a fun trip, Twins! My finishing project is Christmas cards. Only a few left to do.

In the better late than never category, I got my flu shot this AM. DIdn't want to get it after surgery while my body was healing, then forgot. Also stopped by a Dollar store for candy for dh stocking. Lots of people are sick with the flu according to the local news so I wore a mask to both places & I wasn't the only one. Halfway down one aisle a young kid started down from the opposite end, coughing constantly. I turned & fled to another part of the store ;) . Don't want to get sick.

Nancy, your mention of how excited your dog gets when boxes are delivered made me smile. You reminded me of our ddog who used to know the sound of the big brown truck & would alert us it was here. We had a regular driver years ago & once he mentioned he loved dogs we would let her out to greet him. They were great friends :) , & once the package was in the house she would sniff every inch of it thoroughly, her tail wagging the whole time.

Thinking ahead to what's for dinner. Maybe pizza? Will order two pies so I can restock our freezer with the leftover slices.

My dog gave me great attention today and I felt loved. I appreciate her so much.
A gal I know is getting off anti depressants and got a puppy it is great therapy.
I had a bit of a thing like Blessed with the ankle but minor and happy to say I am fine I was able to catch myself on the tv stand made out of 2 x 6" a shop project I was gifted by helping some one move. Had been trying to decide if I would change for a barn wood one. Nope keeping it now it is sturdy! My dog loves street tacos! I cut some up and was having her do shake and spins also roll over. I bake the strips for a bit to make em crunchy,
It also warms up the kitchen.

Slept in not done much yet today.
My goal speak more positive words.
Saw 4 deer yesterday when I couldn't sleep and was up cleaning they had bedded down in the leaves bedside the carport! :D

29* /38* today's forecast.
Sewing mission this week.

Anti P. / Sewing/ Meding Card
mend the back seam of pjs
mend another jean blanket.

I have been enjoying some planner set up you tubes while I work on my mental health challenge pages from my work book.
Just the headers to fill out later. . . titles of these are in my journey one thread.

Good Morning!

I am a slow starter this morning. FBit says I am behind on my sleep so I took advantage of having a day when I can sleep later without any consequences. I slept 10hour 47 minutes last night.

DS14 woke me up at 2am saying "he saw a HUGE spider on the roof". He didn't sound like his normal self, so I instantly wondered if he was sleep walking. I asked how big of a spider and he used his hands to show about a foot in size. That confirmed to me that he was living a dream. We went back to his bedroom but couldn't find the spider. DS14 got back into bed with Perfect Dog Sam next to him and went back to sleep. It has been a long time since DS14 has sleep walked. I had hoped he had grown out of it. I have an extra indoor ring camera that I am going to set up in the living room so I can observe if DS14 is sleep walking during the night.

I've been digging in the raised bed this morning. I am implementing an idea which might not work. I won't know until I try. I am digging as deep as I can in the raised bed opening up a hole that I can put a chunk of logs (tree) into it. It is similar to Hugelkultur method of gardening. My thought is the wood will frustrate the mole/gopher as it is in their way. I am fairly sure it won't work well but I am limited in what I can do about the mole/gophers eating my garden plants. It makes me feel better that I'm trying SOMETHING even if it won't work. The only thing that has worked for me to get rid of moles/gophers is poison and i refuse to put poison in the garden. I'm okay using it in the grassy yard but I don't want poison in the dirt where I grow food.

finishing Friday - what a nice thought- it's a good way of looking at today! . it will make me move forward to get Christmas work done as much as possible.
Thank goodness some presents came in.

I am trying to get some fresh Eucalyptus for dd younger to give to dd older (for the shower) as a gift.
I can buy it but it needs to stay fresh until Christmas - so it's better to order it closer to the holiday.

I have to call the respite lady from d mom's church today - mom is going to hate it - when mom is great she is great - today and yesterday she was wonderful. so now she would be angry - I don't really now what to do. I don't want to waste the churches peoples time.

She won't remember to eat lunch, when she is off; the purpose was to have someone come a couple times a week to heat it up and say hi - but now she is great again and poof that will send her over the edge. I doubt if she will let her in. I need to find someone that will allow dd to go out with friends over the weekend or visit dog training events over a couple days. I will have to talk to my brother. my brother doesn't want to bring anyone from the nursing place in and I understand mom will be upset. - otherwise I will go there and stay with mom for the three days or more. I am not sure. I think that would be easiest for mom. I dislike flying tremendously but it is no longer an irrational fear. (I took a 6 week course in the fear of flying a couple years ago and it was well worth it.)

lots to think about.

Hello d twins. I loved this start for today. it will keep me working! I needed that inspiration!

oh how nice that you have the cleaning lady!
it's good to be a step ahead for safety!
lol on the personal grooming and the hot tub. that made me laugh - winter is definitely the time where everyone lets that stuff slide. sitting in water in winter - lol not for me. I used to go outdoor swimming and hot tub in Vail when on vacation - lots of snow and cold toesies
cheering you on as you work

hello hello d dove,
yay on flu shot being done! I would have turned and fled if anyone coughing came near me :D
have a great day

hi d Nancy!
how sweet your dog is! I love that.
glad you didn't hurt your ankle too much.
I love that you will only speak positive words - I will try to match that.
have a great day

hi d cathy! have fun at knitting!

hi d lady good morning
It sounds like my brother when he kind of woke in a dream - he ran to my parents bedroom and climbed the door thinking there were rats - he remembered the next day a little bit. My d cousin used to leave her house and sit on the front porch - she looked awake but oddly looked 1/2 asleep too. My dh used to sleep walk in his 20's but in his 30's it stopped. You made me remember that time. One time, we lived on the second floor of a three flat and he went out our back door ready to use the hall as the bathroom - he asked why I was in the bathroom - he remembered none of it. lol I did catch him in time. thank goodness.
I hope you have a great day!

have a great day everyone!!!

Been a busy day so what's new?

Started out great then saw I had a "prior authorization" letter sitting in wait. So looked at that and the way it started out I feared they'd declined dh's authorization for his heart procedure Wednesday. But it actually was an approval letter. Whew! The noticed that there was a new letter in his "My Care" account. We spent hours yesterday trying to figure out the time for his prior testing for blood and Covid. I had thought today but after researching and talking with our dfriend decided it must be on Monday. She even called the office and they told her they didn't know. ????? So evidently at 9:52 last night a letter came through with all his instructions prior to the procedure (all except his actual time for arrival at the hospital & they're supposed to call him the day before with that). At any rate it said in the letter that his pretesting had to be TODAY! So tried calling dh -no answer, left message for him to call me ASAP. Meantime I called dfriend who was working with a client. She was going to call her dh and see if he could take dh and then dh called me before he'd talked with him. At any rate I believe dfriend's dh is taking him. And of course they can't be accomplished at the same place. But at least they're within a block or 2 of each other. Think dfriend's dh is taking him so it can get done.

Found out last night that dh's db was put in hospice yesterday. He has friends coming today to take him to the funeral home. Just praying for dh to get down here. DS-R (dbil's favorite nephew btw) has plans to fly down January 4th for a week. Praying for that to be soon enough too. I guess DGS18 is also going to fly down but only for about 3 days as he can't miss that much school.

Think dd and I are going over to see DBIL after she gets home from work. I'm feeling somewhat down but trying to 'stay upbeat' if only for dh. And I'm getting there with the better attitude for it all. Can say will be so glad when all this for dh is behind us. I find myself thinking of all so many of you, my village friends, have gone and/or are going through. Your names pop into my head at random times and you are prayed for.

I was going to go do some grocery shopping but thinking I may wait until Monday. Have my list made out and I'm sure it'll be added to.

Making hamburg stroganoff for dinner (I hope/think -if dd and dsonil don't mind). It's been years since I last made it. So we'll see.

Thinking of you, DBlessedw2.

Dee: don't forget to do some things to care for yourself. Or go find a spot for a good cry if that's what you need. There's a lot going on and you are doing a lot of juggling right now.

For me it is "Finished Friday."

I got the vacuuming done (except the office, I intended to do that while dh napped) and the stew on and some of the paperwork sorted (so now the dining table is clear, just ignore the card table set up in the living room) and then did my Costco run before picking up dh.

I made him test when he got home and it showed positive within 3 minutes.

Sigh....

I was unmasked in the car with him (and a quick 'buss' kiss when he got in) but he wore his mask up in the elevator. Then I was home with him, unmasked, until he tested but wasn't physically close to him, windows are open and the air filters are on. Once he tested, I put on a mask and took as much as I could think of that I'll need out of the bedroom.

He got a second wind so wanted to work which means he gets the office as well. That gives him 2 bathrooms and a work space. I'm wearing a mask in the rest of the apartment and have windows open and the air filter on (we have 2.)

I've let the kids know. I'm guessing this blows up the family tree trimming day on Sunday. Not sure if I'll be babysitting dgs or not.

Dh has offered to move to a hotel but I figure if the goal is to expose as few people as possible, that makes no sense. On the other hand, he's already exposed everyone at the conference (the sore throat came on Tuesday) and on the flights.

He keeps opening the door to the office because he doesn't want to text me, he wants to talk to me and not through a shut door. I'm so angry and upset right now I don't particularly want to talk to him. No, you don't get bonus points for disinfecting the hair dryer after using it. I won't be using it anyway.
