I'm up and have the garbage and compost out (Separate pickups, both today.) I purged the refrigerator yesterday - a good day for the compost bucket. I have body work at 10 today and I really need it. My back and hips continue to ache. I probably need an exercise program (duh) and maybe some PT.
OMM:
-garage clean up
-----break down boxes for recycling tomorrow
-----load car up for a Goodwill run
-----need to pack shred to go to UPS store (save a box or two)
-----glass needs recycling
-upstairs - my office
-wrap dh's and ds's hanukkah gifts
What else?

Yesterday was a particularly hard day. Talked to dh yesterday morning as his phone died. From then till just a while ago nobody had any contact with him. He called dd about 45 minutes ago and evidently now has a charger. Wanted us to go ahead and do whatever we need to do to cancel his reservation on F rontier for Thursday. He said this morning that cancellations were already coming in Friday including flights. He thought DS-A and family were coming Friday but it's not until Saturday.
Saw that dh was getting a special cardiogram this morning (obviously he's still in the hospital). He's trying to contact his cardiologist because it dawned on him today that the hospital has not been giving him his Metolazone -which is his extra diuretic. That could well be spelling the difference between fluid retention and not. Says he feels very bloated. They're doing all sorts of tests to determine kidney function. Oh, so hope he can still by some miracle get here Thursday.
DD and I are going to M id F lorida bank shortly for me to open an account down here. Going to put my settlement check in and then later (after tax returns are here) I will close our one bank account. Been wanting to do it for some time as we've had to always leave a $2,000 balance in our checking account in order not to be charged a monthly fee.

(((Dee))) This is so very hard on everyone with the emotional draw to be together at this time of year. And now, with the weather, it feels like things are piling on unfairly. I'm stomping my feet here, in sympathy for your frustration and disappointment.
I'm glad he at least has a charger for his phone (plus I'm thankful you can watch his medical chart and get a sense of what is happening.)

I'm still in my pj's.
But my ta-das are:
Got Wordle in 3!
Wrote the sermon!
I actually wrote the sermon first. I started to make some notes in the file and before I knew it the sermon was pouring out of me AND in the end, none of the notes I started with are part of it! I think it is good. I'll reread it later.
Dh had a lousy sleep last night and, as a result, mine wasn't much better. He was awake at midnight, up to the bathroom, and then again around 4 he couldn't sleep so started scrolling on his phone which woke me. I sleep with a mask on but I still sense the light at least 30% of the time (or maybe there's a subtle noise I hear, or just his movements clue me in.) I got up at 4:30 for the bathroom and snuggled against him but he never got back to sleep again.
He left at 6:30 to go have breakfast with ds (and babysit dgs while ds had his haircut.) He's on his way back now.
With any luck, I'll be dressed by the time he gets in the door.

Twins - Thanks for the start. I love TA DA Tally
((((Dee))))
Kathryn - Thank you for the feedback on noise cancellation head wear. It was helpful information.
I am slow on getting started today but have managed to get hourly steps for the first 2 hours accomplished and am eating my 1st mini meal of the day.
It still amazes me to observe DS14 be so independent by waking himself up and getting out the door to work. I continue to encourage him to take time off but staying busy seems to be hard coded into who he is. Yesterday DS14 left home at 8am, came home twice to eat (lunch & supper) and arrived back home after 9pm. DS14 found an older (antique?) vehicle being advertised for sale online and showed it to his boss. So after they finished the day of working on their current house renovation, they went to look at the vehicle. His boss bought the vehicle, and they brought it home.
I read the documentation of Windows 11 version 22H2 (the latest) and decided it has features that I would like to have. It is in the process of downloading and installing.

Hello all. I have been busy busy this morning. DH's customer called; the engineer she and DH saw yesterday has reported that the missing phone has been found. It evidently fell out of his pocket and was on the couch he was sitting on. That's one problem solved so far.
I have made a big batch of gingerbread. I don't have a real gingerbread boy cookie cutter so I cut out stars and trees. I've frosted them because they are not very sweet and kind of spicy. They are crunchy and I had one with my coffee. I have a bunch left not frosted and I'm out of frosting so I looked up a glaze recipe so I'll do that with those. 1 more recipe of cookies to do next. Lastly I've got a new recipe for Scottish Shortbread (which I've never made but I'm going to try) and then that is it.
The big truck came down the street. They've gathered up our rubble but they don't do a wonderful job. They pulled out all our perennial peanuts underneath

and left a bunch of stuff. I am going out now to rake that into a pile in case they come back (they're supposed to) to get the rest.
(Dee) so sorry this has all been so hard for you and DH.

My legume stash is empty. I try to eat legumes every day and keep them in the freezer in portion size containers. I had planned to cook pinto beans but didn't get them soaking yesterday. So I went to Plan B and am cooking lentils because they don't need to soak. I keep adding things to the pot of lentils and now it has reached the top. I am either going to have to stop adding to the lentil soup or switch to my biggest pot.
We are preparing as best as we can for the extreme cold weather about to happen. They are predicting us to be below freezing for 5 days with wind chill temps -20F.
** Rabbits - DD11 and I have been working to prepare the rabbits for the extreme cold weather about to happen. The rabbit cages have windbreaks and are filled with stacks of fresh hay for the rabbits to snuggle into.
** Cats - DH and DS14 have made sure the outside cats have warm places in the shop to snuggle into. The cats normally roam outside during the day and stay inside the shop at night. The cats won't be given an outside option during the days when it stays below freezing. The shop doors will stay shut so the cats will have to stay inside.
** Dogs - No change in Micro habits. Perfect Dog Sam will be taken outside to do his business then immediately brought back inside. He won't be allowed to stay in the yard for several hours a day like normal.
** Vehicles - antifreeze checked.
** Exterior faucets checked to make sure no hoses are attached. Insulated covers are on the faucets that need extra protection.

I must admit: "The busier the hands, the less the worry." How thankful I am for routines. The days I didn't follow them and all the to-do's were definitely much more challenging.
Dd and I just came back from opening our new checking account at M id F lorida. Put my entire settlement check in. Gal did tell us that after January 1 the savings account will go to 4% for over $10,000. So that'll be a plus. We almost forgot but did add DD to the account to be able to write checks. We'd do it eventually and now it's done and if we're unable to in the future it's already done. We probably will add her or DS-R to our accounts up home. I will now deposit our tax returns directly there but that's probably the only one. I will go close our B ank Of A merica account very soon.
DD noticed earlier when she was reading what I'd written that I had left spaces between a couple of names on my post. Explained to her that we've done that here for years to prevent trolls.
How do you eat your "legumes" each day, Lady M. And you know what? I'm not sure I really know what constitutes 'legumes'.
