Still missing Lynlee in the southern hemisphere, but for the rest of us it's the winter solstice. The days are getting longer again, we're heading back toward the light!

I was able to get to sleep in a reasonable amount of time last night, aided only by Tylenol and Voltaren on my achy hands. I think we are going to dfriends' tonight for chicken chili with them. We were inviting them to go to fav restaurant with us and they were already cooking for tonight.
Dh has scheduled dinner here next week for the couple he wanted to have over tonight for dinner. So that's next week - at least the house will be cleaner and I'll be rested then. Speaking of being around people, there are just over 100 reservations for dinner on Friday night at temple. I might fix a big plate of latkes and come home.
I'd like to do some cleaning upstairs. I say that every day but it feels so overwhelming I don't do it when I get up there.
Today:
-continue 250 steps/hr (thank you LadyM!)
-continue garage clean up
-15 min (minimum) clean up upstairs
-stamp? Genealogy? not sure
I just heard a big city truck go by and thought it was picking up recycling, but it's something to do with the sewers. Neighbor advised me to close toilet lids when I took recycling out and I just heard a big ole' flushing sound. (But picked up my 250 steps walking all through the house.)

Chanukah I think most dear
Of the feasts of all the year.
I could sit and watch all night
Every twinkling baby light.
Father lights the first one—green;
Hope it always seems to mean;
Hope and Strength to glow anew
In the heart of every Jew.
Jacob lights the blue for Truth.
Pink for Love is lit by Ruth.
Then the white one falls to me,
White that shines for Purity.
How the story of those days
Fills my wondering heart with praise!
And in every flame one sees
The heroic Maccabees.

I too miss lynlee - I wish we could text her or email her to see if she is okay.
hi d twins thank you so much for starting us! I am glad you got some sleep but so sorry you have been achy!
have a wonderful day!
hello everyone as well!
my dd younger is home - the house is bustling having 3 big dogs in the house now.
last night it was so fun to hear dd's laugh with each other. dd older cleaned the whole house so that when dd came home that it would be Christmas magical. (can you tell my A type personality dd). She even wrote a card for dd younger welcoming her (and her dog home).
dd and I are going to pick up an orchid for dd older for Christmas.
I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Good morning!
Twins - Thanks for the start and reminder our days will now start getting longer. Just knowing spring is coming makes me excited and hopeful.
I received two phone calls before I got out of bed this morning. Everyone knows I am typically an early riser, but they didn't think about me sleeping later during Christmas Break. Ohs well.
Today is DGD12 birthday. We have 2 girl grandchildren. DGD12 is 6 months older than DD11. DGD12 loves riding horses, singing, drawing and being creative. She is a blur of motion and chatter. Both her parents are type A personalities, but I do believe they have met their match with DGD12.
it could be because she has them wrapped around her little finger.
Today is monthly infusion therapy day for me. Evenity #8 treatment of 12. Thankfully these treatments are easy and almost painless. I just hope these treatments work and I don't have broken hip bones like my mom and grandmother experienced. Time will tell.

Got up very early.
Dealing with chair issues. They want the s/n which is embedded in the upholstery, readable by NFC but I don't know how to use NFC on my phone. They also asked for the number off the manual but there wasn't an assembly manual, just a warnings manual, and no numbers in that. I sent them the UPC code off the box and found two stickers with numbers on the box so sent those.
I also sent pictures that illustrate the issue.
The back of the seat of the chair is 5" lower than the front of the seat of the chair. This has the effect of forcing me back in the chair which is lovely and comfortable (if I have a footrest.) But it is useless since I can't sit up at my desk and reach my keyboard (which can be put in my lap), mouse, phone, tea much, get my face into the light therapy range, or reach any notes or other items off my desk. It would be like working in a recliner, semi reclined. And because my butt is 5" lower than the back of my thighs, that make my feet dangle in the air.
Hopefully it is some setting that can be changed but that setting is not referred to anywhere on the documentation they do include. At this point I suspect a faulty recline mechanism. If that is the case, sending me a new one to be swapped out should be acceptable. I double checked to make sure the mechanism was installed the correct way around and it must be because if it was backwards, the levers for the back recline and the height of the chair would be on the opposite side of the chair to where the manual says they are. They aren't.
Aside from that, I ordered a folding camp stove from Amazon (should come tomorrow night) and fuel for it (should be picked up this afternoon from a store near dd's.)
Dd wants me to come over so I will drop by after. Unfortunately, they are all sick so I'll be masked and I'm not sure that's what dgd wants. Dd suggested we play together online. She doesn't understand I don't have any time for anything right now (including spending hours on this chair mess.)
I'm near tears again because I'm so far behind.
Lucylee: I think we'll have to wait for Elizabeth to appear again tonight to find out what the object is.

Taking a break…
Movers showed up yesterday afternoon so I started unloading the boxes this morning.
Today is one of my favorite days of the year. Has been since I was a kid.
I need to find my moms cook book which is in one of these boxes. It has my pumpkin pie recipe in it and I have lost mine. We are celebrating Christmas Eve with my sons family and I am bringing salad, bread and pie. Dinner is spaghetti which is nice and easy.
The dog shelter needs volunteers on Christmas Day afternoon, so since I have no plans for that afternoon I told them I would be there.
Back to my boxes, but first I want to eat some lunch. Waving to y’all

I've done my 250 steps for first three hours and am still sitting here. I've decided to make lasagne for tomorrow night when ds is coming for dinner with us, so did a grocery pick up order. (I'm willing to cook for ds this week because he's my son, I'm not willing to cook for friends that I don't consider close friends. And lasagne is my traditional birthday meal.) The recipe makes two so one will go in the freezer too.
So I need to pick up by 2. I'm setting myself an alarm and will go upstairs and set a timer for 15 min clean up.
