PWYC Friday Edition
Check in today! I slept in and did not get an early start. I hope you're all busy and productive!

Re: PWYC Friday Edition
When I woke up this morning it was snowing. Traffic reports mentioned numerous accidents and cars in ditches plus icy roads. Decided to stay home today. Then I decided to have a nap. I woke up when I heard dh scraping snow/ice off of his truck. I think he went for a coffee. I made him a coffee earlier, but some days he likes to have 2.
Supper might be an scrambled eggs with bacon and toast.

Re: PWYC Friday Edition
Good morning!
Even if you’re not productive, it’s good to hear from you, Twins. The radio here said there were tornadoes in your and lucylee’s areas overnight.
Staying home sounds like a good idea, Cathy. We had snow hit this area, but from the south, so it wasn’t the usual lake effect. Still, they did get much more in the usual snow belts. Here along the lake, we barely got a dusting.
Still dragging today. I hope I’m moving better next week when DC starts classes again. The only thing I’ve really accomplished is a text conversation and an email. Delderly friend we used to take to church has several blood clots and is being put under hospice care, according to her daughter, who asked if I’d contact the church. Fortunately for me, our pastor prefers email (and checks it pretty frequently), so I was able to make the DPC a slightly less dreaded email.
I need to get a load of laundry done so it doesn’t affect DD’s shower later. I’ll get that in, and while I’m downstairs, I’ll pull something out of the freezer for lunch.

Re: PWYC Friday Edition
I was so tired last night I had a mini nap, and then couldn't get to sleep. And ddog got me up at 1 a.m. for a trip outside, where it was cold and the wind was howling! And I turned off the alarm at 7 a.m. and slept until close to 9 a.m. - not the start I wanted for today.
Shortly after I got up dfriend M texted me about walking dogs so we ended up walking three laps before I even ate brunch, which is what I'm doing now. DMillie is now very curious about R uby but when she approached - a little too enthusiastically, R uby gave a growl. I think they will get there eventually. I nearly have my step goal for the week and still have tomorrow to go.
I started this a long time ago, I'm not using my time very well today.
Although were were warned of severe storms yesterday they didn't amount to much here.

Re: PWYC Friday Edition
I slept all day yesterday and all last night. I must have needed it. Today my insides and back are sore but I am rested.
hello d twins hello d mystery hello d cathy hello d everyone.
dh: I got a good report yesterday - I compare things to where we were a week ago. My dd's said that I am too positive - I told them I am not but I can grab the positive that is in the moment and be realistic of what is going on. It doesn't help me to sit in the worst of the worst even though the future is frightening for dh. I am grabbing whatever I can and appreciate the moment.
I won't be any help to anyone if I can't keep moving in the day or moving forward.
good news - dh is awake and can communicate by mouthing things or writing things down
his white blood cell count is now where it should be again
they no longer have to do the invasive catheterization but will do a stress test by Monday.
he failed is swallow test but they are hoping that since they are reducing the the anti psychotic and he is able to now handle the steroids without becoming delusional that he should slowly learn how to swallow again.
meds are next
shower next
then trash

Re: PWYC Friday Edition
CI ~ I am okay.
Have been doing paper work first qt & journal.
Now I am decluttering a box of stuff to shred after I pull the envelopes off.
I considered going to town for fabric for 2 baby quilts to make but had my fun shopping day already this week...
and was not quite up to it again sinus stuff.
This mindless activity is ust fitting the bill for what I am up to.
Ddog did not want to go out. We have winds in our forecast.
I've had bfast & coffee.
I will shred a handful of these each day till done.

Re: PWYC Friday Edition
Twins - Thanks for the start today.
I was here earlier but had zero creative ideas...or even non creative idea. I was overwhelmed at the thought of starting today's thread. Sometimes I am stumped with why I can't accomplish the simple things but have no problem doing other things.
DD11 appt with her counselor last night was well worth the time, money and effort it took. I am fascinated and thankful to watch her overcome issues that made her life miserable and see how she is developing life skills to deal with those issues now and in the future.
While traveling DD11 talks almost nonstop. DD11 is quiet and doesn't speak around most people so I treasure these moments. Sometimes I will ask a question and DD11 will talk for 15+ minutes. I asked DD11 what she is studying in Social Studies class currently. They are studying Canada! That lead to a conversation that I thought was extremely interesting as DD11 explained Canada provinces, territories, government, dual languages, capitals, beautiful sites, etc. After DD11 shared some of this information that she is learning about Canada, then she paused and said, "Did you know Canada even has Ketchup flavored Potato Chips?!" DD11 knows I'm a chip-o-holic and that fact would be of great interest to me.
I need to do a massive grocery haul. Note to self.....don't ever choose to stop buying food as it goes on sale and/or is needing to be restocked. It feels overwhelming and not a bit of fun to do a massive restocking grocery haul. Instead of focusing on a dozen or so items to purchase I have several dozen items to purchase. Ugh. The frustrating part is I did this to myself. Lesson learned.

I'm perhaps too realistic in that I have a good sense of how bad things are in our health care system so have little reason to feel optimistic.
Dh had a roughish night and we turned on the radio before 6:30 and then slept until 7:30.
Since then I've just unloaded the dishwasher, had my tea and light therapy, did badly (but solved) Wordle, and booked White Point in the summer (but I refuse to be happy about this because the odds of this working out are slim although I now know that dh can fly ~10 days after surgery so that is better than than the driving restrictions and means if the surgery was as late as the first of July we may still be able to go.) I updated the calendar and note the problem with me having dgs from March 1 - 10. Even dh didn't catch it - if he has had his surgery, he sleeps in the guest room cuz he can't be in the waterbed. Not to mention I'll be caring for a toddler and a post-op patient simultaneously (although I might be able to handle that. My sister called after I had sent her an update on dh and that was a long call.
I'll get dressed in a few minutes.
We're snowed in as expected but that's no excuse for doing nothing. Paperwork, as always, awaits.
As for the conflict with dgs' stay (and his parents' trip to Cuba), my negative point of view says there's no way the surgery will be before then.

totally understand d Kathryn! Is there a reason they can't take your dh earlier to fix the valve? I am praying they can take him earlier! I am praying hard!!!
hello d lady I am so happy she has found a counselor who listens to her and helps her figure out how to deal with her feelings and situations.
hello d Nancy yay on your paperwork and journalling
