Suddenly Second Saturday

This year is whizzing past so quickly I can't catch my breath.
I'm curious if others feel this way?
Here we are at the second Saturday of the year.
Do you have any accomplishments to share having completed 1/26th of 2023?
Do you need to give yourself a shake and get back on track?
Do you need to give yourself grace, and set aside expectations while you deal with reality?
Do you need to change course/goals/plans in order to put yourself first?

I took my ADD meds yesterday but focused on the wrong things.
In the grace category, I was likely processing. We learned nothing new on Thursday but hearing what we already knew, coming from a doctor, made it 'real' and meant expectations had to be changed. For instance, until the surgery is completed, our time is not our own as we wait for that. Day to day living can occur but nothing that requires firm planning and dates. Dh told me last night that he's being removed from the conference schedule for Dubai. And it was a round table so they can't change it to be virtually.
Today is dgd's 'friends' birthday party. I had agreed to go to help dd but yesterday dgd specifically invited dh to the party so he's scrambling to get his routines out of the way in order to be there for noon. That's 4.5 hours out of our day (1 hour for the party, 3 hours for set up and take down including transporting things to the library where it will be held, and an hour for driving time.)
I have a long list of things I meant to do this month and haven't even started.
As well, the lobby trees need to be packed away. The office manager finally asked me yesterday since the staff have not had time to do it at all. Yesterday they spent the whole day shoveling in order to keep ahead of the snow on the walkways (we have stairs up to all three buildings.)
It is a sunny day today, I think the second of the year. So I'm hoping to make use of that.
My tea is almost done, light therapy is done (although I'm in bonus time, having doubled the time each day every day due to our overcast weather.)
So it is time to do something.
I guess I'll start with getting dressed and then 250 steps either on the treadmill or going up and down the halls.

Morning Kathryn… and everyone else.
Harriet… been wonder what has been taking the young man so long!!!
I finally was able to work on my office and got some things done. I had several different colored notebooks filled with my genealogy that I transferred to new white ones. I relabeled everything and like the outcome
Still have more to do in there but needed a brain break. I’ll come back to it sometime this weekend.
Since I’ve been getting up early to go to my daily exercise class, I am decided I will sleep for as long S I can on the weekends. Ha! Work up at 6:50 and that was it.
Made my coffee, watched the news and then gathered my thoughts together for today. M
We have a fellow coming to clean the lanai…washing the cage and such ..today so we are prepped for the guys coming on Monday to repair it. It’s cold here again….course I’m loving it..so I brought many of my plants inside last night and covered the rest with sheets. I’ll need to move the remaining outside plants to the center of the lanai so both repair guys can do their work. I’ll wait a bit till it warms up outside.
Reason being I need to take a shower first and wash my hair.
All my life I’ve had very wavy hair and have fought with it. As I teen I rolled it in large rollers and slept with them at night. Later when blow driers became popular I would blow it straight and style it with a brush.
Now there is a big trend for girls with naturally curly hair to wear it curly. My hair is past my shoulders now which I love because I cans wear it in many ways without fussing with it much. I decided to see just how curly my hair actually is. Bought new Curley products, including shampoo. Been watching videos on how to encourage the nature curls.
Oh my goodness… I think my curls after all these years have been let out of prison!!! Good glory! It doesn’t save me time rod wear my hair this way as I have to let my hair dry naturally. But I do like the results. However I need to figure out the way to part it so it looks the best.
So that’s first on my to do list today. Then I want to bake cookies while I’m waiting for my hair to dry, and then after that will work on my lanai. Cold weather and wet hair do not go together… at least for this girl
See y’all later

Yes, two weeks into January. I am getting used to a new dog and walking a whole lot more than I was in December. And have worked out twice and am going back too. On the other side of the coin, I really am not using a lot of my time well. Since finishing the portfolio I've kind of floundered around on getting busy again and I haven't used the last two days with dh away well.
I'm torn today between heading upstairs to my desk to research or cleaning house. I kind of promised myself I would start cleaning in the off week when dcleaning lady didn't come, but I'm resisting it. This morning I've emptied wastebaskets and taken out trash and recycling, and stripped the bed and got sheets into the washer. I'd like to go ahead and do kitchen and baths but I'm resisting.
(back from walking around the block with ddog, who needed a poopy walk.) I have got to get her stopped from this pulling! I am home breathless from the cold and pulling and not in a happy mood! Vent over!
I was up at 5:30 to take her out to potty but then went back to bed and was up before eight. I've used my time well so far this a.m. Need to reboot laundry (I'll put sheets right back on the bed) and have my breakfast.

Good Morning!
It's Saturday! #IL0veSaturdays!
Kathryn - Thanks for the start and thought inspiring questions.
I was outside before sunrise and loved watching the sky change as I was walking in the garden. The brisk air was invigorating.
I tried to talk myself into going to sam's yesterday and I tried again today. I just don't want to be in a crowd of strangers. So I ordered 11 items to be shipped to us and 28 items for curbside pickup tomorrow evening. We will be driving through the city, and I hope to make a detour to pick up the order. I just hope we can make it back from our outing in time to pick up the order before the store closes. I don't know what happens if you don't arrive on time for your pickup order.

I have a done list amazed at how much I did the first half of the month already.
Today bathroom lites did not work. I made a plan then went in to check and touched a bulb and they came one!

All four of them. I am out of bulbs of that size I realize so put those on the list.
Had the magic touch. Next Mon. is
Magic touch Mon! New Card!
I got out food from the deep freezer that I made up ahead last fall for meals later on.
To go with meat not sure what yet.
I had progress then sorted another box of crafting type papers etc. and my workspace now needs attn. again sigh... I can do this!
I have another stack of books set aside to donate after decluttering the book case last night. Glad for that progress.
Now I have two stacks of books to donate.
I listened to a you-tube on decluttering and making the decision it must be helping! LOL!
Sipping coffee.
Did my planning some in bujo.
Today's goal on leash training in the back yard with ddog.
Saw a you-tube on that as well.
Got decluttering trash outside and emptied the vacuum canister too.

Did I not close the front door when we got back from walk? Did I leave it cracked and it blew open? Making my omelet I realized front door was standing open and ddog gone. So I walked a lap calling her and when I got back she was down the street in a yard. Called her and she came, back on leash. I think my strategy if she gets out again is to wait at home and call her. My heart can not take this. Neighbor's teen daughter (it was her grandmother's dog) heard me and came out to help. She is so sweet and fond of dog.

Twins … have you tried a gentle lead? Harness don’t help when you have a dog. Think horses… harness a horse to pull a cart, bridle and bit to control and steer. Sled dogs are harnessed to pull together.
Balancing paws dog training is on fb. Yoni was the one who taught me how to walk Willis. Willis was terrible at pulling!!!! If you look through the fb page you will see all the dogs he works with wear a collar and lease. You can watch Ceasar the dog whisper … who trained Yoni… on you tube to learn how to keep your dog from pulling. I believe Yoni has videos on his fb page. I swear by the man!!!
Without Yoni I don’t think I could ever get Willis to walk with me without pulling
My plans have changed I’m now headed out to a car show with Sweetie

About 20 passwords dealt with from very important (the business' paypal) to inconsequential (ToysRus) but that more done.
I'm discovering of the 500+ we have to manage, a lot are duplicates. Passport managers ask if you want to save a password if you enter stuff in a new launch page. So sometimes there's an entry that is from a password change page or an open a new account page as well as the main log-in page. So, as I find those, I'm deleting them and then only having to change one password.
Next up: help dh with bike stuff or more tidying.

Dh is making "his" version of stew today and chili tomorrow. Seems I have the weekend off from cooking, but not the clean up part. While dh was in the kitchen, I mopped the living room, hallway and bathroom.
When dh makes stew, he boils the carrots separately and then adds the carrots and the water they were in, into the meat, potatoes and onions. Quite frankly, it's more like a soup than a stew as he keeps his broth thin and watery. Lots of meat though.
Another sunless day here, even though the weather person promised sun today as we have been 22 days without sunshine other than a bit of a tease a few days ago.
Dh and I went out for groceries first thing this morning to get onions, carrots and potatoes. We got eggs and milk and bread while we were there. I just don't feel like going into any crowded stores any more.
