Long title - but we're beginning the third week of the new year. Time cruises on, doesn't it?
I have a bad case of "I've got all day.....week.....month....year" and it's kicking in right now!

We're going to see our friends at their River house today for some sunshine and socialization. Gonna be cold tho, high 52. We can sit outside if there's little wind. I'm being rushed by dh right now to get ready and be there at in an hour or so. Finishing breakfast, he's walking dog instead of waiting for me.

Decided to change the décor in a corner of the kitchen counter area. Nice to find a very old ant trap from last year with a few dead ants behind a small appliance. So happy that the cleaning lady was being so thorough...

Dh said the house smells cleaner now that I'm doing stuff. Kind of a drag to be washing the floor between the bed and the toilet every day though. Today I took every layer off the bed and I'm washing the mattress cover, the 2 pads that go under dh's side and all the blankets as well. After seeing the mattress, I'm thinking that there might be a new mattress in our future. A huge part of the problem is dh sweats so much when he sleeps.
The sun is shining again today. It's cold out, but it's so nice to see the sun.
Dh is making himself a huge pot of chili. Football pre game shows are on. I will be having a French onion soup for my supper.

Opposite for me, Twins -I'm thinking I only have "right now". But I sure do KWYM!
Just finished finally cleaning up the kitchen, emptying and refilling the dishwasher, doing up pots and pans. At least it looks good again. DD's busily taking care of all the Christmas stuff.
I'm waiting for dh to wake up again. Been trying to decide what to do about a problem he's having with parts unspoken. Thinking when he's awake enough we'll try calling the home health team. He's hating to go to urgent care for fear they'll send him back to ER and "I'll have to wait there for 30 hours". This, I can tell you (as many of you know all too well) is NOT EASY! Find myself crying more often than not. A lot is because of lack of sleep. (And Kathryn, I did see your suggestion about DBIL's house -it's just not feasible right now. Besides which I'm not sure anyone can stay there until ownership is established.) I do think that things are in the works for DBIL's Memorial Service to be held on February 4th.
Dh decided to try going from the living room (which is across a hallway, our office, our bedroom) to the bathroom this morning without cane/walker. Of course he fell and dsonil rescued him. He wants so badly to push himself and it's just not happening. Trying to make him realize it's not fair to any of us OR to himself.
32 out here this morning. Pretty darned chilly for Florida! Am I right, Harmony/RR?
What game are you watching, Cathy? Know dh will be watching Buffalo with interest (if he can stay awake). Think it's at 1pm. If dsonil wants to watch something else we can go in our bedroom.

praying for your dh d dee- hoping they can get the fluids in his body under control so he is more himself and not swollen. I am glad your husband is okay after falling! praying he uses his walker and asks for help when he needs it.
wow that is cold for Florida!
a quick hi - I get to go see dh in the hospital today. I won't stay all day bc it's tremendously hard on my body.
I hope to wash his hair and give him a good shave.
Things that need doing here:
clean out the back yard
have dd's move the heavy shelf onto my desk/garden desk in the garage
I love saying exactly what is going on instead of hiding behind the stuff.
put away - I have three vacuum cleaners out - industrial, reg. small all in the front room - don't ask lol
dd younger has all her groceries on the dining room table
I put all my books etc that I had in the front room into a plastic bag - oh my gosh I thought those days were over with. That bag is on the kitchen table
garage - I can't even talk about the garage
the 3 season room - too much food and no cooking
okay time to be a productive citizen
waving hello to you d cathy, d twins, d everyone. I saw you were up at midnight d Lucy and checking in - waving to you as well!

Just finished up watching morning worship and taking high-speed notes ( smile ) during the sermon.
Breakfast for me was my steel cut oatmeal with 3 fruits, comforting.
Loving these Flair pens and wishing I'd bought more colors. We went through such a long time without an easy choice for color felt-tip type pens, and certainly without real variety. For years, office supply stores didn't even offer red. They are great for my particular kinds of record-keeping, so the new availability is cool. Wish I'd bought the larger package of "limited edition" colors, but it is true I didn't need the really big package of two rows of them.
I'm sure I'll finish the spaghetti for lunch.
The predictable happened and I shot up more than a pound in weight because of the restaurant meal yesterday. Must have been full of sodium. Oh well, this too does pass, lol.
blessed, in my cleaning of this week's Focus room the bedroom, I found a bookstore bag of two books I bought and had even started reading but put back in the bag! They had been put on what must have seemed a sensible place, but then so was an afghan later, so they disappeared. Just shows we need to keep rotating our room attention. Enjoy your visit with dh today.
Hoping ((Mr. DeeClutter)) has no ill effects from that fall and glad his dsonil was right there. I would probably be thinking I could walk short distances, too, frustrated with slow progress in getting better.

Dee I'm sure it's Buffalo, as dh is a fan. He used to live across the river in Fort Erie. His mom used to shop for groceries in Buffalo.

Well, they'll be cheering together, Cathy. Of course there's lots of Buffalo Bills fans at our campground and our area of Western New York. Just got dh situated in our bedroom so he can watch this afternoon. It'll be interesting to see if Damar Hamlin is there today. Have little doubt he will be -in a heated booth I'm sure. But won't be surprised to see him walk on the field. Amazing the far reaching effects his experience has had!
Need to make lunch soon, but right now dsonil is standing in the kitchen munching on cashews. I did manage to get dh's bread and milk fixed for him. Not sure just what I will have. I do want to make some spaghetti real soon. Maybe this week.
We plan to have our entire family here (other than the funeral meal the church will most likely provide) and I almost think I'll make a big pot of spaghetti for that. If DS-R takes ownership of Dbil's house then I'm pretty sure he and DDIL will stay there for the weekend. DS-A & his wife and possibly DGS10 will probably stay in their motorhome that's just outside our bedroom windows. DGS played a hockey game yesterday I think and dedicated it to his Uncle. They ended up winning and he wanted to know if we could bury the 'game puck' with DBIL. We'll find a way. He's such a thoughtful kid. (DEJAVU: Back in 2009 when DShelley passed away -DGS -then 10/now 23- our family decided that night to go watch him race (go kart). He happened to win and dedicated that win to his Aunt Shelley and gave dh a very tall trophy. )

Sweetie and I were up and out of the house by 9:30 this morning. Stopped at the kids house first to drop off a container so “Granny’s oatmeal cookies” and was able to have a quick visit.
We went to a Home and Garden show but it was a bust. Took us less than 10 minutes to walk through and most of the venders were selling roof repairs and hurricane windows, plus the garden site had plastic plants!
Came home to the house smelling of beef stew which I started before we left. Had my lunch and am now watching the Giants.I’m even trying to drink my second cup of coffee. The football playoffs are my favorite to watch cause everyone tries to do their best to win.
Had an even better night of sleep. Yup it’s cold here to… and the thermostat read 67 when I got up, and yes I slept with the window open… heaven!
