At least it sounds alliterative!

There's a lot to celebrate. I'm a big foggy but these come to mind without reading over yesterday's:

1. Harriet finding her address card box.

2. Blessed getting things set up for her dh to come home.

3. Lucylee updating her photo album to pre-Christmas December 2021. I'm in full awe of this (my albums might be up to date to pre Dec 2001 but I won't swear to it!

4. Harriet finding the energy to tackle her sewing area. I hope her slow and steady work in this area brings up much joy as she handles fabric and notions from older projects that brought joy and plans ahead for new projects produced in the sewing area just waiting for her to recover all her energy.

5. I'm hoping for a peaceful celebration of life for Dee's dbil.

yesterday celebration: dh walked around the hospital corridor! Huge, and he was speedy as well. So different from he day before yesterday.

I didn't see dh yesterday and I know he was disappointed but dd older was there for most of the day!

My morning has been one blooper after another. There have been so many of them that I started writing them down to capture the weird experiences. 9 bloopers so far today and I have been up less than 2 hours. At first, I was upset then frustrated but now I have moved on to considering them a nuisance that is becoming humorous.

I've blown past my 9 a.m. 'dressed?' alarm.

I had a good deep sleep for most of the night and had the sense to turn off my 6:30 alarm at 2:14 when I was up to the bathroom so woke up at 7:40. Dh had woken up 10 minutes prior.

The bedroom windows are defrosting. The aluminum frames are just cased in ice from the humidifier's moisture but the room was still over 30% rh when I got up, even though the humidifier had been off for 90 minutes at that point. For reference, the rh is 15% here in the living room where no humidifier is running (because it couldn't keep this space anywhere near the 30% minimum recommended, for that I'd need 3 - 5 of them since industrial ones suitable for this open concept 800+ square feet are just too noisy for me to live with.)

I spent far too long on FB this morning. The EV community are sharing horror stories about how their cars are too cold to work properly and, for those who went away for the weekend, how the fast charging stations on their routes had 1 - 2 hour long lineups to charge because 1. range is half or less in this extreme cold so they had to charge on their way to ski hills even though it is less than 200km away, and 2) cars charge much more slowly in extreme cold so every car charging had to charge for much longer than the usual 20 minutes.

Even some of the people charging at home are finding their cars are unable to get warmed up enough to drive normally if the car isn't in a garage (Teslas have a turtle mode when full energy is not available). Some people are unable to even put their car in drive in order to move it to a heated garage despite the batteries being at 75% charged (i.e. 200 miles of range in summer, 100 miles in this cold.)

Last summer, in a North American wide forum I answered that 110V charging, outside, in winter is occasionally not enough let you drive in such a cold-snap as this. And 240V home charging might be so slow as to cause problems if you need to fully recharge your car overnight. I based that opinion on similar posts on our FB group 2 years ago when temps went really low for a few days. I was told by the fan-boys that I was completely wrong and accused of spreading FUD about EVs. Here we are, back in a cold snap and the situation is worse this year because now there are way more EV owners so more people requiring extra charging. (Last year I was told by someone that, since I live in a rental apartment and can't put in a 240V charger, I shouldn't even own a Tesla since I'm not rich enough and I needed to either move to a house or sell my car. Some of these fan boys really make me angry.)

Of course, fan boys argue you could give up on your plans to go away for the weekend and just hang out in the city or take your other vehicle. But for those without another vehicle and unwilling to give up on a ski weekend, it is ridiculous to say that EVs have no problems handling this weather. They do, and those who have no issues are people who are willing to make major compromises and live with the restrictions EVs present. This year, I'm copying all these FB comments into a file so I can do direct quotes next year when people ask the question of how EVs handle deep cold.

I need to get moving. The newsletters have to be delivered today and I should go to the library and pick up the books I have on hold. Plus some green onion for dinner tonight and possibly some beef so we'll have a beef stir fry instead of a pork stir fry. I'm getting concerned about the availability of chicken with the new Avian Flu taking hold. That's what driven up the price of eggs and chicken but now I can foresee chicken simply disappearing from the supermarket shelves. We went 2+ months without the rotisserie ones at Costco in 2021 or early 2022. But this time it could spread further as last time it was only one supplier affected.

Trying to wind up some odds 'n ends here before I head over to Dbil's house. Dks and dh all went over about 9:30 (dh to supposedly just sit and chat -I can only hope. Did ask DD to try to get him to lie down for a little while.) DS-A was going to do laundry when he got home and I just said I'd do it in my space of time this morning. He thought he was leaving Orlando tomorrow night at 10 and it's actually 10AM. But I dallied a bit and when I went in the washer was full of DD's LOL. So I put that in the dryer first and promptly forgot to turn it on. Just finished folding all hers and got DS's in the dryer. Hopefully it'll be dry before I leave for the "Celebration of Life". Have notes typed up with me for dh. Not sure he's going to be able to get through it really. But I can fill in if need be. His voice and words give out pretty quickly so it's sometimes hard to understand him.

Tuesday he has an appointment with another gastroenterologist in Winter Garden -the other side of Orlando. (OH lucky me having to drive that drive. DD was going to take us but she has to work her 'fun job' in Tampa that evening and leaving here same time as his appointment an hour & a half or more east of here.) As all his attending doctors have reiterated, "We need to get this camera of his small intestine done ASAP". That's been for about a month now. And he just keeps getting worse and worse. I am so thankful for our village and all my friends here. Don't know what I'd do without all of you. Bless you all!

Kathryn, lest you be TOO much in awe, I must admit, I am up-to-date with photo albums through 2013. Then there is a gap, until 2018. Then I'm up to date again through Dec. 2021.
Hmmm... 2013 was a big year, wasn't it? I retired, ddad passed away, dgs turned one... 2014, dmil passed away... 2015 dgd was born... I really need to catch up those years as well. I should buy FIVE albums tomorrow... but I think I'll start with ONE. Maybe two .

It was minus 14 Celcius when I woke up at 8 this morning. Now it is minus 6 C, so I will celebrate the warmth returning.

I need to know what FUD means. I think I know the first 2 words, but can't come up with the third.

Dh will be having left overs from last night. I will have French Onion Soup.

We went out for breakfast and then we went grocery shopping at a different location of a store I normally go to. I couldn't find hot chocolate at this other location. They didn't have powdered dishwasher detergent either. So... I still need those 2 things.
