MONDAY PWYC

Post by DeeClutter »

Sorry no special title today, I can barely think. Thinking of all in the hospital and hoping today is proving an even brighter day.

Here things are so confusing to say the least. I just called to cancel dh's appointment with his Primary for tomorrow. He's been in the hospital since Saturday. He ended up with 2 transfusions Saturday night. Yesterday they did a nuclear bleeding test which, who knows why showed no bleeding in the small intestine. He called me at 4:53 this morning to tell me they're doing some sort of Endoscopy at 11 today. This will be his 3rd or 4th since September. They do have him on potassium drip again as his level was 2.1 -dangerously low! He's supposed to have the Capsule (camera) Endoscopy in Orlando at 8:30 tomorrow morning. DD just talked to his nurse and they're trying hard to get him out today so he can make this important appointment. Meantime dd is calling to this Dr to be sure they've been given approval for the procedure from our insurance company. If it doesn't come through today we can't even think about it being tomorrow. We have decided to get a hotel room near the hospital there so we don't have to fight rush hour traffic in the morning and leave here by 5am. I'm trying hard to gather things to pack as we need to leave soon after dd gets home from work. DD said in talking with his nurse they're waiting for cardiology to write approval for anesthesia for the endoscopy today. Just a little crazy around here.

I'll try to look at our village later but I'll see how that goes. I'm a nervous nellie at this point. Thinking of you all.

(((Dee)))

Fantastic game last night! I can't believe I watched the entire game, including Canadian (boring) commercials
and the entire half time show. As soon as the KC team scored their first touchdown until the Eagles couldn't score any more, I was glued to the tv. Dh wanted the Eagles to win. I just wanted Mahomes to win, I don't know anybody else on that team. We were both so grateful that Brady wasn't on either team. Neither one of us likes him.

All of the clean laundry got put away this morning.

We are having fajitas tonight and now I am going to knitting.

Thanks for starting us Dee, and letting us know about dh. So long to wait for the appt tomorrow with the camera and have it postponed. Hoping something good happens soon for him.

I'm still home and dh is still at hospital. They're drawing blood to run it again. Hoping it's good enough for him to come home, but if he needs it longer so be it. I'm to the point of being run ragged. Need to cancel appt at eye doc today to take sunglasses to get new lenses, and I don't know where I'll be when the 3:30 p.m. Zoom study group happens, and btw, I haven't studied anyway.

And the dog's invisible fence training is not going well. Don't have time for full report. Texted the trainer/invisible fence people this a.m. about that but don't know when I'll be home.

Lucylee, dh was not as good yesterday about me leaving him alone. He was peeved I think that I left 7:45ish. That was after getting there 10:30 when he was still way groggy, going home for an hour or so for lunch and dog, and then going out to Wendy's for supper for him because he refused the low fat supper they brought, because it wasn't diabetic. (I think he thought they would switch it out right away and they couldn't/didn't and he wasn't happy to go hungry. I could have told him what would happen....)

Also on the phone with biz office at hospital and just paid our massive deductible, which he probably met on Saturday. :shock:

Heading out to walk dog. Still haven't had breakfast.

Thank you, Dee and Twins', for the updates on how our hospitalized menfolk are doing.

Dee, in a way, what good news that one test doesn't reveal a problem, but how I hope for you and dh that the problem will be revealed soon! Also, c'mon insurance company, get the info out! ( :roll: ) You could just decide to fight the battle later. We did that once and later the doctor gave us a letter saying the operation was urgent and had to happen when and where it did. Finally, after contacting the office of state insurance commissioner, and emailing them that letter, it was resolved within an hour!

The guttering company is here, climbing all over. We were surprised - knew they would come sometime but had no idea today. They asked if there was an outdoor outlet and HRH and I both went blank. lol. I called ds and got the location right about the time HRH found it by walking around the house. Neither of us could believe we went blank like that, but after decades of telling people where the other house's outlet is, we just couldn't do the transference! :lol:

I hate when strangers look in my windows. Ugh. Taking my smoothie and leaving for another room. bbl

~~~waving Hello to all~~~~
((((Dee & DH in hospital))))
((((Blessedw2 & DH in hospital))))
(((Twins & DH in hospital))))
(((Kathryn & Ken waiting to be in hospital))))
I am on day #5 of struggling with active sinus, watery eyes, and sneezing. I am ready for this to BE GONE.
The contractor is here working on building the garden fence. I am extremely excited to have progress made on this project. The end result will be making the garden area surrounded by high walls. I am looking forward to the wind break, sound reduction and privacy.
Today we are celebrating adoptions. It has been 10 years since DS14 adoption was final and 3 years since DD11 adoption was final. Celebration doesn't seem to be the right word to describe my feelings toward the adoptions. It was caused by a parenting failure and/or inability to parent. I don't want to celebrate that fact. Sometimes it is just a matter of making the best of a dire situation. We are celebrating that the kids are not in foster care, not in danger and are growing up in a stable environment.
Menu plan -
B: Smoothie
L: take DS14 out to eat
D: Take DD11 out to eat on the way to her counseling appt.
Homeschool is in progress.
I am on hour #5 of my daily plan. So far it is going smoothly with all planned tasks accomplished.
Thanks for the update, ((Dee)). I'm sorry your dh is back in the hospital, but am sure you are comforted that he is being monitored & well cared for there. Finally, the camera test is tomorrow! Hang in there, dDee.
((Blessed)), doing an exuberant happy dance here that your dh biopsy showed no cancer, only scar tissue! Hope the supply issues are straightened out soon.
((Twins)), I'm sorry your dh needed gallbladder surgery, & that he now has an infection. Glad hospital caught that right away & started antibiotics. Hope he can come home soon. A big yes to Lady M's suggestion of a pillow to make abdomen more comfortable on the car ride home. Glad his surgery could be done laproscopically.
((Kathryn)) , sorry you had such a bad experience when you had your gallbladder removed.
Surely March will shake out something white.
I sure hope so, Harriet. I love snow & have been feeling blue that we have not had any & with temps so unseasonably warm we probably won't. Still, fingers crossed for a cold & snowy March :) .Hopefully daytime snows so I can enjoy watching it fall.
Hope your sinus issues clear up today, LadyM. I think that the incredible difference you & dh have made & continue to make in ds14 & dd11 lives is something to celebrate. It warms my heart to read about the loving, stable, fun & nurturing environment you are raising them in.
Made a S am's run this AM. We forgot that we usually don't go the day after a weekend, but they had all we went for except spinach. Need to portion out & freeze ground beef into one pound packages. I tried a new recipe yesterday for enchiladas using ground beef instead of our usual chicken. Had different spices & cheese, plus sauce mixed right into the filling instead of just on top. It was very good. Also bought some stuffed salmon that dh really likes. I freeze them individually for him. I don't care for the filling & it's nice for him to have more things to choose from when we are on our own for dinner.
Waving ~~~~ to Cathy, Nancy, & all who stop by later. Hope you all have a great day! :)
Had my day planned, then boom it took off in a different direction
That’s okay because we ended up working outside for a while. I went to class and came home and cleaned our bathroom. Had time for my second cup of coffee before we went outside. After we finished our yard work, I planted one of my barrels with flowers.
Am waiting for Sweetie to finish his lunch. All my barrels I use for planting are stacked together and in the garage. I need Sweetie to help me pull them apart and then I will plant my first on with some of my favorite sunnies.
Sending prayers and well wishes to y’all. My friends husband had a heart attack in Oct and he is waiting to get his shunts in. Same story here.. no drs or appointments to get it done. Just made me shake my head when I heard about it and made me think of Dee and her DH.
