Hope we all adjusted our clocks forward overnight! This will feel like a "short day" with lots of daylight at the end. I'm getting more coffee before I continue!

Unexpectedly, we have two social engagements today - on top of being out last night and going to services on Friday night. I feel like I'll probably collapse tomorrow morning.
Last night was an interesting social event. It was a crawfish boil, not shrimp. Ugh. They also had some pulled pork for sliders and we just ate the pork not buns. We stayed long enough to "make an appearance." Shortly after we left, it started raining for sure - had been some sprinkles all along but the party had to probably move indoors. It was a chaotic setup - had to figure out where things were, keg on a porch, some food inside, cups somewhere else, desert in another room inside. Anyway, we came, we made our appearance and headed home.
This morning we are going to an impromptu brunch for a friend who is leaving this area to move to Portugal. We've known almost as long as we've been married. During that time she moved away once and moved back after one of the bigger hurricanes hit her area of Louisiana. Dfriend who is having brunch says she's leaving soon but dh says her visa is stalled so I don't know. I'm just going along for brunch.
And tonight we're having friends over for soup with us - I'm making a mushroom barley soup - so we can talk about going to the beach a week from today. We'll only be there Sunday-Thursday but we need to talk about what to bring and what we'll buy there.
So today I'm going to be out some, then cooking and I also need to keep house together for company tonight. No chance of a nap, but OTOH I want to sleep well tonight too.

Morning..
I’m with you about coffee Twins. My first cup is empty and I surely need a second cup!
I had an interesting night. Spent it with a group of women being lead by a spiritualist. I been with her before. The focus was on self love, mindfulness and kindness towards others. She is also a medium, but that was not the purpose of this gathering.
We did several exercises as a group including a meditation where we were asked to visualize a large field with flowers and a young child at the far edge. The child was our inner self and we’re asked to hug and love this child. I could this very soothing.
Later we were instructed to take a small piece of paper and write a thought we wanted to release from our bodies…anger, fear, frustration, emotions like that. Then we gathered outside and one by one set the papas don fire and dropped in a bucket. This represented releasing this feeling from our minds. As I did mine the gal stopped and said… do you have a brother? I do
That’s all she said. I’m the only one she asked any questions to. Later that evening I asked her why she asked me that. She said as soon as I lit my paper she saw my brother. She said she could see him in pain an asked if I was aware of that? I am. My brother has been experiencing terrible back pain due to spinal Spinoza and had just been diagnosed with it.
Know this type of gathering isn’t for everyone, but for me it was a very enjoyable evening with women who are very liked minded and I am looking forward to more evenings like this. It was a very calming time and something I know I’m going to need considering my future.
The rest of my day is slow and easy. I need to finish my routines and water my plant. Going to do a quick trip to Kohls to do some returns and then settle in to watch the academy awards. Gonna be strange this year cause I usually do it with my mom our phones she loved to discuss all the fashions. She had a flairs for it, but that gene must have skipped me

That’s a good point — no nap today will help with sleep tonight.
Definitely no nap for me today. Church — piano — birthday party— Wmart— supper with ds and dgrands — whew… busy day!
I am also using the time change as motivation to lose some weight! It’s really been creeping up lately. With the extra daylight, I plan to walk more outside. I’m

Rosie: I'm glad you found the evening interesting and useful.
I ended up examining some of my feelings as I was writing my sister-in-law this morning and wrote this:
Last time was much easier because the world had stopped due to Covid so there weren't things to miss out on or other demands in my time. I'm still very resentful that any time I make a plan for something in the future, it gets cancelled.
The day of Ken's pre-op was supposed to be an open rehearsal of the NAC orchestra, our first time back in over 3 years. The time with dgs was to be full of fun activities or working with him on his speech and music.
This upcoming week is March Break and I was to spend lots of one-on-one time with dgs6, including a sleepover but that won't happen either since I have to preserve my energy.
Worse, as my volunteer work is now starting back up in earnest, I'm now 'behind' on that because I can't attend meetings or summon the energy to work on the projects I've been assigned to, or organize the events I wanted to do. I feel like the world has moved on from the pandemic times but I'm still stuck having to fully mask and isolate and give up looking ahead to the future, my life still on hold until this is over.
I'm so tired of not being able to anticipate fun things. At this point, I'm not sure what White Point will even be like. First I have to get through dh dealing with not being able to go to Africa. I'm willing to bet he will not be cleared to travel for that (he was already a few day 'over' on the 12 weeks to fully heal because the surgery didn't happen by the end of Feb.) But driving all the way to Nova Scotia in July may also be limited. At least Hay Lake in August is 6 weeks after White Point and only 3 hours, not 17 hours away.
Edited to add, dh just texted that he's been moved to a ward bed. So I'll get dressed, eat my breakfast, and take him his things.

Dishwasher finally got emptied and refilled. It's doing it's job now.
I had to do bed sheets as soon as I got up. Dh says he feels like his "cold" or whatever it was has finished. The sheets are now in the dryer.

Ugh to the time change. My alarm went off at 5:30am but my body wasn't fooled. It knew it was 4:30am. We left the house at 6am and DS14 arrived on time for the last day of his class.
My exciting life....
** eat breakfast while sitting in WMart parking lot.
** walk up and down the empty aisles of WMart to get 4K steps done.
** I returned to one of the garden centers I went to yesterday. I changed my mind about purchasing tomato & pepper plants this year because they are so big and beautiful. The 4" pots are on sale for 99 cents each, so I succumbed to the ease of purchasing starting plants. I now have 21 different kinds of tomato & pepper plants ready to be put into the garden.
** I am sitting in an empty waiting room at the hospital while I am waiting for time to get DS14 for lunch. There were only 7 vehicles in the entire
hospital parking lot. I find myself wondering why the hospital seems so empty. Where are all the people?
** I ate my lunch (brought from home) in the school parking lot while waiting for DS14. He chose to have Subway for lunch. A repeat of yesterday.
** I have returned to the hospital waiting room to spend the next 2-3 hours.

We're back home from brunch and I have cut up veggies for soup. Need to start soup soon, it's a long process.
I'm feeling a little overwrought from the time change and not having much time today. And dh and I are sniping at each other - TV and radio in car earlier was way too loud for me and I try to explain that it makes me crazy because it's so hard for me to think. And he won't consider hearing aids himself and is "tired of me complaining about it."
Anyway, I need to get back to work. I feel like having a good cry myself and blaming it on the onions.

Supper is boiling away on the stove. We are having a cottage roll, which is in our largest pot, even though it isn't very big, it has to be immersed fully. I have a pot of veggies (carrots, cabbage, onions and potatoes) boiling in the second largest pot. I just put the potatoes in, so they need to cook.
