Wednesday Smoke and Mirrors Day

Did you know there's a Smoke and Mirrors Day? I didn't either, but I frequently resort to the strategy along with the ever popular "Stash and Dash."
I'm heading to the shower right now for some Smoke and Mirrors treatment myself.

I didn't know about Smoke & Mirrors day either. There is a podcast I listen that has different themes for each day. Wednesday is always SMT day (Smoke, Mirrors and the Truth, with a pollster.)
I'm up.
I was up late again last night because I'm so frustrated at being isolated from dh I was moved to tears. It is only until Friday, so 2 more sleeps but I'm tired of eating in this little room. Sleeping isn't as bad because I get to have it the temperature I like. His room was 23*C last night, mine was 19. And my humidity level is where I like it.
I woke up (at 5:50) to man's voice yelling "hey" which was most likely a dream but I got up to listen at dh's door and he called out that he was awake, so I masked up and went in. It wasn't him so was either a dream or someone outside (my window was open.) He had a sore back and couldn't get comfortable in the bed so I suggested he go out and doze in the recliner which he did. I went back to sleep for another 2 hours.
I've done (his) stretches out on the balcony and had my tea and chocolate. Still have to take my vitamins (I'm still off my ADD meds) and then get dressed for the day. I did do my hair before leaving the bedroom the first time (it has to be done a way that allows the mask strap to stay in the correct position.)
Today is 'open', there are no appointments. I'll suggest we go for a walk outside pretty soon because the weather is nice now and is supposed to get worse later today and stay that way for days.
Maybe we'll go to dd's in the afternoon to take the new rain suit to dgs6. Maybe not.

~~~waving Hello to all~~~~
Does anyone else use AI? Here is a AI generated poem about Smoke, Mirrors and Truth.
Smoke and mirrors, illusions galore, But what of the truth that lies at the core? For every trick and every deception, There’s a kernel of truth that defies perception.
The smoke may cloud our vision, And the mirrors may distort our view, But the truth will always find a way, To shine through the haze and guide us anew.
So let us celebrate this day, With smoke and mirrors and truth in play, For it’s not just about the tricks we see, But the deeper truths that set us free.
Happy Smoke, Mirrors and Truth Day!
I made two trips to public school this morning. The first trip to take DD11 and then second trip when I realized today is DD11 snack day and we forgot to take the cookies.
Homeschool is in progress.
Painters are back, and my living room is taken apart. DR is complete but I need to do a ton of work dusting and putting things away in breakfront. I might wash the china and crystal before I put things away. I know the breakfront itself needs a good dusting on the inside. OTOH, dcleaning lady is coming on Friday and I suspect they will be painting in our bedroom so this is something she could help me with then. I think they're done upstairs for now but they are using the guest bedroom for storage of the their paint and supplies over night. And I think dh wants them to paint the guest bedroom too.
Ah, talked with them and they may do laundry room today too. That means I need to get busy in there once I go to the grocery.
Today I need a grocery run and need to get more paint, and have a 2:30 haircut. Dh is out tonight so no cooking dinner. I'm finishing up breakfast and will head out soon. I feel like a boomerang this week - in and out of the house - but it can't be helped. I'm in a much better frame of mind today.
My peer group last night was asking about the judges' comments and how consistent they were and I had to say I hadn't had time (taken time?) to sit down and correlate and analyze them.
Twins - What color of paint are you using?
Blessed - it is good to see your posting. I hope you and Mystery can come chat with us more.
I've been outside to remove the 5 gallon buckets covering the tomato & pepper plants. The coldest it got overnight was 44F in the garden so the protection wasn't even needed. Ohs well. I took pen/paper with me to the garden and recorded what is planted in Bed #2 so I could update my garden journal.
Raised Bed #2 - Tomato, Pepper, Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, Cauliflower, Onion, Garlic, Beets, Dill
** Tomato -Champion VFNT & Celebrity 3/10/2023 Bought at Atwoods 4" pot for 99cents. Put in a bigger pot. Transplanted 3/25/2023. -
** Pepper - Pimento & Cajun bell 3/10/2023 Bought at Atwoods 4" pot for 99cents. Put in a bigger pot. Transplanted 3/25/2023
** Onions Yellow Granex & Sweet Red transplants purchased 2/12/2023 from Ace.
** Beet seeds planted outside 2/22/2023 in between onions. Expected germination in 12 days @soil temp 40-80F. No germination. Replanted 3/29
** Broccoli - 2 Waltham. Grown from seed indoors. Planted outside in Feb. . 90 days to harvest is 1st of June
** Brussel Sprouts -. 2 Long Island 3/10/2023 Bought at Atwoods 4" pot for 99cents. Planted inside net pot with net covering. 90 days to harvest is 1st of June
** Cauliflower 2 Snow Crown. 3/10/2023 Bought at Atwoods 4" pot for 99cents. Planted inside net pot with net covering 90 days to harvest is 1st of June
** Mum. Came back from 2022 planting.
Breakfast is a chocolate protein/psyllium/coffee smoothie. I have been tweaking this recipe for a couple of weeks and now have it exactly to my preference. Once I had it "perfect" I wrote the recipe, so I won't forget. I prepare 7 days of the dry ingredients at a time into individual containers. It only takes a couple minutes to make the daily smoothie and clean up the blender.
And I'm back, it was a quick and easy trip. I got our brisket for next week, too.
I need to put out more water for these guys and I brought them some mini brownies. They're nice about the fact the dog is being a noodge and walking through periodically to check things out.
After water, I need to finish putting away groceries and sort mail, then start on laundry room. While I'm driving, I think of all kinds of things to add to my OMM list, which is overflowing. I'm feeling much better today, however.
Twins', I neglected to tell you over the last few days that so often I did think of you and family when hearing news reports from your state.
After a looong phone call that was awkward and difficult, at least some of the pressure I was under yesterday is gone. Sadly, it means others "got their way", which does nag at me. Every ball is not in my court.
S2Sed right before the call came and still had a wet head. Very inconvenient but I said it wasn't an inconvenient time, so as to get it over with.
My appt today is for a skin check with nurse mid afternoon and I can probably just go alone and not try to get other things done, convince myself it's no biggie.
Tomorrow, not so much. Long drive.
Village menfolk's' healing is on my mind, with Harmony's dh injury added - so sorry.
Waving back to blessed.
That's an interesting short list of 5, Nancy.
Homeschool is finished. DS14 did almost all the assignments without my help. He had a couple questions that we discussed. I am so very thankful for the immense amount of material available on the internet to learn any subject. Just pick a topic and there is always someone that can explain it well.
I've transplanted 2 more pepper plants into the garden. It is a slow process but one that I am enjoying. I am keeping my focus on planting the vegetables and then I will turn my focus to the flowers.
Tonight is a potluck meal with our church family. I am taking my usual (Mac cheese & chocolate covered rice Krispie squares). I am kind of bored with taking the same thing, but it is always one of the first dishes to be emptied. When I don't take it then I always receive several comments like "I looked for your MC but couldn't find it" I will start cooking at 4pm for that meal.
