TOP-NOTCH THURSDAY

Post by DeeClutter »

Here's hoping for a "Top-Notch" day for each of you! Going to see what I can do to make it one for me.

Got up shortly after 6am for a bathroom break to find dh was already up and dressed. He was getting ready to go down to the shop to help out with a water problem. Like in we have NONE! Guess one of the (less handy) guys turned it off last night as he thinks there's a leak somewhere. Dh says it'll take 3-4 days for it to come back up to norm once they get it fixed. Says "I'm pretty much going to help give advice." I'm hoping. He's still not in very good shape and I just hope he can stay upright.

DS-A came by yesterday (camp manager has deemed that one of our dks/dgks has to come by daily and that's okay -to check on us). Dh had taken apart (Oh, Harmony, our dhs are so much alike) the heater fan from our bathroom. Just couldn't get the last 2 screws to go in right. I tried and was unable to get 'er done. DS-A finally got those 2 in and now it's working like a charm, We're trying to heat some with electric as we're running through propane pretty quickly. At least dh isn't 'out there changing tanks' quite as often I hope. We have another heater but this one seems to be working better.

Think it's been forever since I started us off. I was going to go back to bed but am wide awake. So I'll at least get through some of the morning routine.

Oh, Dee, so many challenges!

I'm up and dressed and doing my tea and chocolate and light right now. I'm a little behind but I also removed nail polish from my nails and started a load of laundry so those were the tasks that slowed me down.

I got an email partly written last night. That's it.

My alarm for 8:15 failed to work, or I dismissed it without thinking (not likely since I have to pull my phone out of my pocket.)

As a result, I was a bit late on my errand to the other building. In the meantime a second errand came up for the other building so that reminded me, and I got that errand done too. As well, posters are up on 2/3 of the notice boards. And I'm still home in time for dh's zoom call with the surgeon.

So that was a good burst of activity.

And a stern reminder I need to get to the bank today.

~~~waving Hello to all~~~
I'm back home from delivering DS11 to school. I treasure these moments when she is so enthusiastic about school projects that she sits in the car and talks about them. She has two presentations that she is working on that will include animation, displays and a wax museum figure.
Today has two appointments which require two separate trips to the city. ugh. I have my 12th & FINAL infusion therapy appt at noon and then DD11 meets with her counselor tonight at 5:30pm. This will mean eating out twice. Double ugh. On the positive side, I am thrilled to finish the
evenity treatment with no side effects. I am also grateful for the counselor that is having such a positive influence on DD11. She looks forward to spending an hour with Jana and leaves the appointment lighthearted with a skip in her steps. It is definitely worth the short-term hassle, time. & expense to make it happen.
I am starting hour #3 of my day and am current on completing the tasks assigned to each of the hours.
Glad to hear that (weather) things seem to be fine in the Lady M household. Double happy that this will be your last infusion -is that for now or all time? Wonderful that DD11 comes out of seeing her therapist with that spring in her step! Remember when I used to take DGD28 to her therapist way back when.
I've managed to get quite a few things checked off this morning. Dh came back within an hour of going to help advise the crew. Then his 'boss' called to say we could turn on our water heater as there was 40# pressure. Hmmm.....the sun's trying to shine I see. Dh wants to go around camp sites to put on new numbers if it warms up a little. I plan to drive him and be with him. Brrr...
I've called Dh's doctor with an update. He weighed 169.0 on Monday when we talked. Went to 166.6 - 167.2 and back up to 169.8 today. He'd prescribed more lasix on Monday and that doesn't seem to be doing the job. Wondering what's next. Dr did say on Monday he'd decide what to do when he got the update today.
Now I'm really sleepy so think I'll sit back in the recliner for a bit. Dh is snoozing anyway. But I also have to be ready to take him to the Dr if that happens. Hoping Dr will decide on a new plan of action over the phone.
Dh has his podiatrist appointment today. She comes here every 5 to 6 weeks. Therefore I had to make sure that all 3 kitty litter boxes got a good cleaning. I will also crack open a couple of windows for some fresh air. It's going up to 16C today which is around 60F.
I also have knitting.
Dh thought he would be a nice guy and tell me that one of the cats made some sort of mess in the hall way. I mopped that up and then re-mopped the entire hall way and I also did the bathroom while I had hot water in the bucket.
I ran the dishwasher last night and there is only one large pot left to be washed. I also did a load of laundry, so that went into the dryer and now it's all put away.
I'm going to knitting shortly.
Dh has requested "beef tips and egg noodles" for supper tonight. I've never made them, so I've been looking up recipes. We already have a small steak defrosting in the fridge.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.
Just watched the partially (mostly?) successful rocket launch.
Congratulations on meeting that benchmark/landmark, LadyM. "no side effects" is a top-notch kinda thing!
Best wishes to those consulting with doctors today.
Update from dgdC was that she made "three big hits" in her ball game yesterday. Happy for her to experience being a welcome part of a team sport.
It was so nice to have her "to myself" the other day. This may happen more often as her big brother's homework becomes so much more time consuming.
I got more baskets potted up yesterday. Have just one more to do. Arranging at both front and back doors. I think I have the graceful (but teeter-y) tri-pod holder/hanger stable now. I think one of the tricks is using a heavy, low basket for a low center of gravity.
Morning….
So glad to see Dee posting :D
LadyM…when I saw the weather report on the news this morning I wondered how you did. Likewise I am so glad your dd is doing well with her counselor . My son was the same way about his when he was her age and just loved going to see her. Even after there was no longer a real need to see her, my son would come to me and say…I need to talk with Cheryl. He did this all through high school and she and I eventually became friends. And when I went through my extremely difficult period, I turned to her for professional help. What a treasure she was and I am still friends with her on FB.
I have finished my class and am enjoying my second cup of coffee. I was able to get all my morning routines done before I left for my 7:40 class. The state of FL decided to test their emergency board casting service at 4:15 this morning and it turns out the entire state is in an uproar about it!
I still have my flowers to water…was waiting for the mowers to finish up around my house and then I’ll take my shower. I am thinking about doing some fun shopping this afternoon just to get out of the house, but first need to see if Sweetie needs me to help him on his computer for anything.
Today is Thursday so I also need to start my laundry and figure out what to have for dinner.
Sooo glad to see y’all made it through the storms, LadyM!
I’m up early for me. Computer is still a problem so I’m going to s2s and call The Man. Then will probably be taking it to him in Next Town. Or going back o buy a new one!
Sigh.
Still having stomach issues.
Yesterday went well. Funeral was nice, and it was good to catch up with dh’s cousins.
No drama at all with dbil and we had such a good time at his house with him and dniece.
Must get in the shower…
Tomorrow is another day.
Waving to all!
I am up an hour earlier than yesterday. Got going on my qt & journaling.
Was feeling puny at first but that seems to have passed as I sit up so that helped.
Another frosty morn here glad my plants made it through the others glad I just got two.
Ddgo had been out.
Bs is in ack land this morning & wrote down my Rx I took for that & the type and amount in m y bujo that helps.
Bfast will be boiled egg & v-8 again this morning,
Time for more morning stretching.
----
I walked to both corners to test out my toe I stubbed the other day it is purple but I did okay with
my regular shoes on so that is a relief.
Too wet to do any gardening yet but frost has melted.
I went out and did the first round of yard work and cleaned out flower bed by the deck.
Also found a blackberry bush I did not know was there & I could easily remove it! :mrgreen:
Had my lunch & then I did two more sessions and have the leaves etc cleared out and
piled up ready to bag up or containerize later.
[Containers are full so bagging needs to happen at some point.]
I have half of my steps in by 11:30 a m.
