It's Saturday! Keep it Simple, Saturday!

Morning, Twins, and all the rest of you as you wander into our little village. I just spent the last 1/2 hour scanning the last few days of posts here. Think I have the general gist of all you've been up to.

Thank you for the birthday wishes Wednesday. Sadly it was not a good day at all. One of dh's worst I'm afraid. Thursday was good but I was busy catching up around here. Yesterday not so grand. Today is yet to see. I hate not getting here more often, as I'm sure Blessed does too.

Dh does seem a little more alert today. Dh and I went down to the pub for a fish fry last night. Although he ended up with a kids' meal of chicken fingers, tater tots and some macaroni salad. He ate 2 tots and spoonful of salad. The rest is in the fridge for later. 1/2 my fry is in the fridge as well. Went to pay for our dinner and someone had already picked up the tab. Dh had plenty of hugs through the evening. He is so well loved here and people were genuinely happy to see him. Then there were those who helped him back to our golf cart, etc.

Trying to find something to put beside our bed to help dh get into it. Seems just too high for him any more. I put a new cover on his lift chair this morning. Have to find something to clean the upholstery on the chair where he's planted blood in the last couple of days. Dr did prescribe a cream for all his itching and I think it's helping. I just have to remember to put it on him.

Also got a box of 'medigrip' for his legs yesterday. Nurse ordered it Thursday. Dr wants those white compression stockings on and I'm finding it nigh onto impossible to get them. Tuesday night I was completely unable to get one of his stockings off and ended up cutting it off. Hopefully this new tubular stocking (you cut off whatever length you need for each leg) will work and last a while. I will need to find out (if it does) where to order it when we run out. Think the nurse only has maybe 3 or 4 weeks left.

I would generalize and say that SHEs are excellent at setting up systems. Where we are less than optimal is that we don't maintain the systems!

Looks like another really nice day here today. Dh wants to go watch DGS10 race tonight (about 6 miles from here). DDIL-A said she'd get him and park their car in a turn so he could watch for a while. Not sure how that's going to work though. DS-A called late yesterday to be sure dh didn't want to go there for a shower yesterday. They were getting ready to go camping at a campground about 45 miles from here. But they plan on racing near here tonight?? I'm really confused. Will talk to them later about Dh going. Depending on how he's doing today.

DS-R & DDIL are here in their RV this weekend. Camp owner bought us tickets for their beef bar-b-q which is tomorrow. We have more leftovers in our fridge. Then our cooking friend evidently brought 2 small containers of soup and a huge amount of lasagna for us today. I put the 2 soups in the freezer. Then I cut the lasagna into 6 pieces and have them freezing. Then will bag them up individually. We never seem to lack for food and yet my grocery bill seems steep!

As for "systems", Kathryn.....I need to make a chart for dh's needs: PT exercises, his meds, OT exercises, stockings on/off, cream on, weight, BP (and I'm sure there's others).

Can't believe RR and Lucylee have been retired so many years! We've certainly all been together a long time.

DD and DSonIL left early this morning to go to Nikomis beach. He wanted to hunt for shark teeth and I guess it's a good spot. They plan to head back home early this afternoon. She sent a picture of that serene scene of waves lapping the beach while she drank her morning coffee. Come Friday she should be heading up here. Albeit she may have to rent a car to do so. Their jeep has been at the dealer's for repairs since before I left mid-April. They can't get the needed parts. He has a VW but that's also in the shop and the repairman had a heart attack so wouldn't have a vehicle if dd took her car. So she's looking at renting a car to come up. Then Dsonil would probably drive theirs up later when she's ready to go back south. She looked at rentals from E nterprise and it was $1,000 one-way. Others were way less. So she'll soon be making a decision on all that.

My Sat. is simple as I was going to mow then it rained so I changed that up to art day today!
I have not done much but played on pintrest looking for some ideas for a planner page lay out.
Qt & some journaling.
Bs was up over did it on carbs last night.
The faux potato salad was great!
Dev. egg too.
I am glad that I do not have to water it was getting dry.
Next I need to get some food in the freezer that I made up ahead.

I have walked ddog between shower not as cold out as I thought it would be.
Got the sausage cheese dogs in to flash freeze now before I bag em up.
I have had lunch done the dishes & dumped the trash.
I looked and my first year of blogging was 2005.

Good morning! I'm going to join you all today (I'm a rare visitor).

My work today:
Shower and dress to shoes
Run 15 min timers following the FL crisis cleaning plan (15 x 3 then 15 rest)

My bedroom is feeling boxed in by clutter. DH is still sleeping in there, so I have some time before I can do anything about it, but I can get ready. I really hope to post some serious progress today!

I think I offended dh by asking him to go to Costco on a holiday weekend. Not sure but he's going. Right now he's at a b'nai mitzvah at temple and he'll go after that. The dfriend of dd who is dog sitting when we go to NH is coming by this morning to meet Millie and get instructions and info.

Aside from that I'm hoping for a quiet weekend! I'd like to do a little stamping - need to make a couple of graduation cards and a wedding card. 'Tis the season for those!

Didn't get this posted because I started reading all the posts since I started today, then dog sitters came by. I think things will be fine with them.

I'm also glad to see Dee check in. And we have been together for a very long time! I've been retired since May 2013, I think.

Hello! Good to see Dee here. I'm not doing a whole lot today, but I've helped DH a bit. located the tractor file, which he never can find. He cut the grass today (riding tractor) and it looks good, especially around my little round flower garden. I told DH the clippers and the shears are so dull I had a hard time using them, so it was a struggle. I helped hold them while he sharpened with a file (which he says is worn out) though I did try them and they worked better than before.

We are struggling to do all this outside work. He brought in some gas/oil mix and wanted to find info on the weed wacker to know what percent to use. He used to know all that without looking it up. I thought he had it marked on the tool but it must have worn off. Anyway, he wanted me to use it and I told him I never could use that heavy thing. Years ago when he had his shoulder operation and I had to do the cutting and trimming over at the old house we bought a smaller lighter electric trimmer which I used. So we will get that up and sometime I will go out and try to use it. I don't know if my arms are strong enough for that one either. We'll see.

Old age is hard.

Anyway, hope you all have a nice weekend and a nice holiday. We don't have any plans, despite it being a special one for us.

I'm taking my first break of the day.

DGS25 has been asking me to do something with him for several weeks and it just hasn't worked out. This morning we met in the city and went thrift store shopping and out to eat at OGarden. I got caught up on his life happenings and heard the details about his new job.

DD11 is spending the day with DD46.

DS14 worked this morning and is riding dirt bikes this afternoon. I just picked him up at the jumps, went to get drinks for him and friends then delivered them all back to the jumps.

DH is working in his shop.

That means.... I HAVE THE HOUSE ALL TO MYSELF for the moment. **soaking up the quietness & calm**
