I've been productive so far this morning but have more to do before we take off for the day.

The apartment (but not the bedroom since the door was closed overnight) smelled of wood smoke this morning as did the outdoors. The air quality is now in the 'good' range according to the online readings and the air quality warning has ended. It is still cool out (61) and windy so I've opened up the every window.

The a/c also seems to have kicked in again. But I've turned that off and will let fresh air cool the apartment instead.

Next up: write up all the window covering notes I have for our appointment this afternoon.

I'm still feeling in recovery mode from being away so much. I think we will probably go to dfriends' river house later today but I don't know. Dh has gone to Torah study and will head to Costco next.

I'm going to change clothes and walk the dog. I'm moving slowly.

Simply having a busy day. Sweeping. Mopping. Laundry.

I need to burn some cardboard and other papers. Plus there is a huge pile of fence posts already on the fire pile.

Supper will be BBQed chicken drumsticks and "New Orleans" flavoured sausages for dh. There is also potato salad and coleslaw.

Both air conditioners are going. It helps get the floors dry faster I think.

We went to a local garage sale to support the local Women's Institute.

I finished the sink through to shining, and then started on the two parts of the plastic dish drainer.

Interesting aside - I used a plain rice vinegar on the drainer this time for the hard-water crustiness that forms, because it's what I had. I see no difference whatsoever in how well it cleaned, and if anything, it was faster. Of course, I rinsed thoroughly in case there were any sugars (don't think so), but then I always do that. We have it on hand because HRH likes it over cabbage, cucumbers, etc.

Dd24 was volunteering again for children/teen art instruction at local library. She picked up the boys who wanted to go, and they are still out.

Dgd won a little trophy in a swim meet. I didn't even know she was competing. Ddil got a great photo that will be a keeper.

Does anyone need the reminder that it is Father's Day in US and Canada tomorrow?

I have a present to wrap. It's a tee-shirt for HRH and the disappointment I have is that I thought it just had a design printed on the cloth, but it is that kind that has the rubbery design in a texture on top of the shirt front. Won't be as comfy. Oh, well.

I thought today would be a day of rest and recuperation. Oh ha ha. Yeah right. After getting dressed and vitamins etc. I walked outside to take a look at my wall-of-accomplishment (just to mentally pat myself on my back) maybe get some motivation.... and there's DH with the lawn tractor across the street. He cuts the edges over there and up the side street that T's into ours across from the house (just to make the area look neat around us.) He asks me to put the car across there so he can jump start the tractor which is stalled out. So I do that and after multiple tries he still can't get the tractor going. So push me over he says. I got into position and after multiple position changes got him pushed into the garage. That was fun, not! I am too far up in the car to see exactly what part of the tractor I am pushing so it is a bit scary. So now he's broken down in the front of the garage - at least he's inside out of the rain which started right when I went to get the car.

Our list of stuff to do around here / things to fix is getting longer. I advised him to call a tractor mower place and they will come and get it and fix it. Will he do that? probably not.

Well, I'm going to have a QT. I haven't had one in 2 days.

Editing: I was having my QT and heard the tractor in the front yard. DH had put the tractor on the charger. A half hour later it works. He's been having trouble with batteries for years. He used to go buy a new battery but that was getting expensive and annoying. So now he just puts it on the charger for a bit before using. We don't know what the problem is, if it was doing this in the car I would say it's the alternator. A tractor place could fix it I'm sure. He's too stubborn to do that. I went out to look at him cutting and he just shrugged to me and I shrugged back. Well, one thing off my list.

He just had told me the filtered water in the refrigerator wasn't working...well he wasn't pushing the button in the right place. I have the label for that underneath the spot. If the light isn't just right we can't see the words so I didn't want to cover the spot, I just push above the label now. He didn't know that. Next time we'll get a better refrigerator. Cheap appliances are not a bargain.

It’s a slow Saturday for me… just the way I like it!

Ate breakfast and watched tv while I drank several cups of coffee.

I have a battery operated scrubber so I’m off to clean Sweeties HUGe and I do mean HUGE shower. Can’t decide whether to do it naked… don’t look Ethel …or just wear an old shirt and undies

I've been outside planting some petunias and a plant called "supertunia" (By Proven Winners) which looks like a regular petunia to me. If you look them up on line they have a very pretty one called "bubble gum". I have "Purple velvet" and "Starry night". I really like everything I've planted so far. Dh had a nap. He covered himself with my bathrobe, which was on the bed. I was thinking about taking a picture, but I didn't.

He's gone to get gas for the ATV and some zero soda. I came in to enjoy the a/c. All of the windows are shut and the blinds are closed where there are blinds.

DS14 woke himself up, showered and was out the door to work before 7am. He is helping a local farmer today. I don't know exactly what DS14 will be doing but trust all will be okay. We have known this person for decades and the family for generations.

DD12 is in recovery mode after a week of camp. We will start her summer schedule next week.

DH ran a low grade fever (under 100) yesterday and had low energy level. Today he feels better but started having a dry cough. Because we have over 100 covid test kits on hand I asked if he wanted to take a covid test. He agreed to do it. First test came back faintly positive. I switched to a different brand of test kit and the 2nd test results came back clearly positive. DH will be spending some time isolating in our bedroom suite.

Today I am starting the process of returning to my normal hourly schedule. I am taking the time to evaluate each activity to make sure I want to commit to doing it before I add it into my hourly schedule. I am giving high priority to taking care of myself. It is easy for me to let my focus go to other things and let my health & needs slide.
