I've had a satisfying Saturday, because I am down to one dgrandchild at the moment, and it has been much calmer around here!
Y'all can tell what kind of chaos my life is in when I don't even have time to post and TELL you how crazy it is!
Tuesday night, the dgrands ate supper with us (just carry-out, eaten here at home) and I got them settled down pretty quickly because we had an early morning -- had to be at church at 9:00 a.m Wed. morning.
Wednesday, I didn't "have to" go on the trip with the children, but I did anyway. We had 6 adults and 8 children, LOL. It was HOT, but it was fun. I rode with one of the two grandmothers who took their own cars because their grands were still in car seats. I enjoyed talking to this lady very much. She is one of those few people who can talk more than me, and I've known her for a long time -- taught her ds when he was in high school and dh has known her his whole life. Her husband is in our church bluegrass band, and she and he are both retired teachers, so we have a lot in common. It was a very enjoyable day. Plus, I found out that more people than I thought may be in favor of disaffiliation in our church, so that made me feel better too.
Wednesday night, we went out for supper and dgrands were good and we all had a good time.
Thursday, I took them swimming. We only stayed an hour or so, but it was long enough that dgs threw a ball and accidentally (he said) hit dgd in the face. Tears flowed, I made dgs get out of the pool and then he sat in time out for 30 minutes after we got home. Thursday night... I don't even remember what we did for supper... LOL...
Yesterday, we had the dgrands all day, and after ddil's birthday party, dgd was ready to go home with her mommy... she really gets homesick for her mommy and daddy when she's away from them. DGS wanted to stay with us, since DGD was going home, so he stayed and will stay tonight. I have no doubt he'd just move in with us if we could work out visitation days with his parents.
I have slept most of the day and finally got up and s2s. We went out for Krystal hamburgers and DQ ice cream and are now back home. DH is watching the Braves, listening to the Opry on the radio, and dgs is playing some imaginary baseball game and keeps giving us play-by-play and progress reports.
I have corrected a paper for dniece via email.
I thought about changing the sheets, but it was mid-week the last time I did that, and we'll miss a night this week, so I'm putting that off till next Saturday.
I do need to finish vacuuming -- master bedroom/bath, computer room, and the kids' room. Their room is kinda a wreck, but we'll get it picked up tonight. The rest of the house looks okay. I vacuumed the main areas yesterday, but never did mop the kitchen. Whew. It's just hard to do everything, especially with two kids running wild all the time. I can see why some of the clutter accumulates at ds' house. BUT... I do have to say, except for a few glasses and a pitcher in the sink, our house is still pretty neat -- except for the kids' room.
Next week will be a little quieter, but we'll only be home three days before the weekend and our little over-night guests return, PLUS, I told dgd she could stay tomorrow night if she wanted to, since she had missed out on her night by herself with us! Goodness. I dread driving to Atlanta (I always do about half the driving) but I am sorta looking forward to being out of town, even if it will be so hot at the games. At least they are night games.
Hope everyone is having a good Saturday night, and a good Sunday tomorrow!
