Today is a birthday SPREE for LadyM's ds - fun, safety, hydration and excitement wished for all his friends as they mountain-bike today.
I am going to have a SPREE cleaning up my house! Yay! (only partly tongue-in-cheek, I really will enjoy some of this, will definitely enjoy the results)
Are you joining me?
or are you joining the birthday boy in excitement that would surprise us?
or will you be somewhere in between?
Happy Saturday

We are out last night with dneighbors and had a nice time but I was just too tired and the place was very noisy. DH had another glass of wine on the porch with them when we got home, but I begged off (said hello but too tired and not wanting to drink more wine either) and got in bed early. Ddog was torn for awhile between me and dneighbor - of course she was A's mother's dog in the beginning and she adores A. A little later, when dh was in I took ibuprofen and a benydryl and went to sleep. My back was aching too much to lie on my back and read and I was just done.
I was up at nine a.m., thanks to my little alarm clock/dictator and have had two cups coffee and walked her two laps. So I have a start on those steps. I need to breakfast and s2s and head to grocery. I didn't get to bank yesterday - honestly I forgot - they're open today until one so I may try to run by there.
Dh is at Torah study as usual. I suspect he'll call or text later for the Costco list so he, too, can go there!
Harriet, the house is a dark navy/gray. I ended up with SW 7852 Salute. I think it's pretty close to what's been there. Here's a photo, not ours, from Pinterest.

Spree for today? Perhaps I'll try for some creative time? River dfriends are still out of town, but they had mentioned getting together tomorrow possibly. I don't know what dh's plans for the day are.

Spent an hour on kitchen deep clean.
Handled the one lagging Desk Day item through to mail.
An apple for 1st breakfast.
HRH found "mountain apples" at the fruit stand place yesterday and they are, surprisingly, real and autumnal (smile) instead of grainy ones from grocery we've had through the summer.
lucylee, I would have been disappointed in that movie experience, too. I agree that I can forgive almost any situation in a play and still enjoy myself. But put to film, one would think it would be different - "ready for prime time" as they say.
Harmony, I'm sorry you sort of had a set-back. My ddad used to say that recovery is one day better, one day worse, two days better, one day worse, etc., until you realize you are having almost all good days. I hope you are finding almost all good days very soon.
Millie (sp?) is a lucky pup - beloved Mom is good friends with beloved former family of memory.
Next up is working in the den.

Harriet - Thank you for the start today!
And just like that....We have a 15 year old! What a journey this has been and continues to be. I can't thank ya'll enough for walking this journey with me. SHE's have been a source of information and help since day 1. I can never thank you enough!
My body symptoms remain the same Day #2 of the stuffy sinus, cough, sore throat, minimum voice, no fever. It is the lack of voice that is causing the most trouble. I did take a covid test and was pleased to see a firm negative. I continue with Mucinex, saltwater gargle, hydrating and resting.

Another check in. Dh got home and went out to walk. I won't ask about Costco - he needs to exercise.
I am having breakfast - omelet with swiss cheese that tastes wonderfully nutty and sweet, and a luscious ripe peach with a dab of rich yogurt. And I opened up packages and the replacement CGM for the one I ruined last week is here, and the replacement water tumbler as well. I have it filled up with ice and water for the day!
A pet peeve as I get older, people call me "Miss X" with my first name more and more often. It feels condescending and slightly belittling to me. Is it the gray hair? The last time I remember being called this so much was 25 years ago from dkids friends. Thinking of trip to bank with A who was treasurer of HOA - bank lady did not call her "Miss A."
LadyM, what a ride it's been with your ds. You and dh have certainly been wonderful parents. You've blessed his life, and that of dd as well.

Happy Birthday to LadyM's ds15!!
I was up 2 hours earlier than dh, mostly because he had a restless night and there was tugging of blankets and a football game on TV at one point before midnight. Lots of tossing and turning, etc. I got up at 6 and couldn't get back to sleep. I managed to get some stuff put away in the library.
We went and got some hot dogs and a can of chili. Dh wants chili dogs for supper. They had to be foot long hot dogs though. We also got taco seasoning and a large bag of Frito's.
I just made the banana bread. The banana was black enough to be used. It's in the oven for another 45 minutes.
We called DMIL. She sounded tired today. Their dog had been barking before we called and neighbour said something over the backyard fence. This guy is a jerk and a bully towards MIL and SIL, which irks dh because he isn't there and can't go talk to the guy. Dh has dealt with the guy before and dh says he's a jerk. Their houses are very close together, so he can't really be avoided or ignored easily.

I was up early for me. I have so much stuff on my mind that I couldn't sleep. Too many things are behind around here. And I have brain fog something fierce. It seems to be getting worse. Maybe it's not, there's just more things on my mind that haven't been done.
LadyM, if I felt like you I would suspect some type of pollen and allergy. Anyway, I'm certainly glad it is not Covid.
DH has a very high weak voice. He has been working on the grass and today finally cut it. But he gets very tired quickly.
I got a letter, and 2 cards/notes/checks or money out in the mail today. The 2 BDay cards are late. I sent texts about them. I reconciled one bank account but the other one has definite problems, I was missing some checks and had to find them in the online record. I thought I'd taken care of those two before. There's some more work to do there because the new month slipped by without my putting automatic stuff down in the register. I have insurance stuff to take care of, I've waited too long to do that. Next time I get really sick it better be the middle of a month which is quieter.
Happy Birthday to LadyM's DS15. I guess I've been around for his whole life with you because I remember the stories. I'm happy it turned out so well for him...and for you.

Harmony - I am thankful to see your CI. I was looking for it yesterday and starting to become concerned.
I was being a worry wart.
I haven't had much time to rest yet. We have had 3 rounds of drop-ins. The mom of DS15 friend, a lifelong neighbor stopped by to give us a watermelon and I sent him home with an abundance of fresh tomatoes, DD46 came to wish DS15 Happy Birthday and take DD12 with her to spend the day. DH asked if I wanted to go on a coke date and get some miles on the 89 pickup. I immediately said YES. Note to self.....when the temperature is over 100F it isn't as much fun to drive around in an old pickup without a/c.

Happy Birthday to DS 15. We have known him his entire life! This morning I got to the bank to order checks - I bet it was close to ten years since any have been ordered - the calendars on cover of the register are 2013, 2014 and 2015. The teller couldn't find the account but a manager did - the account itself was first set up in 1962. So those are ordered. And went on to the grocery and stocked up. Decided, for some reason, to make a squash casserole. Haven't done so this summer and they're so good if the squash isn't over done.
I surprised myself by going to Costco this afternoon with dh. It was soooo busy - when we got there took awhile to find a parking space. I am just amazed at some people there. There was an older woman in a scooter for the disabled and a man with her. Then two kids (grandkids?) each of them pulling a wagon with a dog in it. I'm reading that Costco only allows service dogs and these were poodle types, but talk about a logjam! Anyway, I survived and I get points (at least in my mind for going and not complaining. We did get in and out pretty efficiently tho. I get frustrated with dh sometimes over his indecision there.
So now I'm starting squash. We got steaks to grill and I'm hoping dh is doing that.
With the trip to Costco I've passed 63K steps for the week.
