Again, enthusiastic opening, less enthusiastic me. What are you enthusiastic about today?

I am not feeling very enthusiastic this morning, Twins, but your start puts me in mind of a dear teacher I once had, who liked to say, “Get enthused!”
The attempts to find a doctor yesterday were less than successful. I’ve got at least one semi-promising name that may or may not be taking new patients, depending on which website I check.
DD came home from work early — she’d been stung twice by a yellowjacket. The first time, it had gotten caught in a student’s hair, and she thought the gloves she was wearing to set out the snacks would protect her while helping the kid — turns out not. Then it found her again. Dosed her with antihistamine, which seemed to help.
When I’m through here, I have a wee laundry problem to deal with— I have a basket of damp laundry in the living room. I brought it up to be folded, only to discover it was not as dry as I thought. Unfortunately, I had already started another load in the dryer. Alas.
I hope we both find some enthusiasm, and so does everyone else who pops in here today. (It’s Thursday; will we see Dove?) Off I go!

Good morning!
I am enthusiastic about only having 3 more days of triple digit temperature. I am dreaming about fall weather. In the meantime, it will be 107 for a couple more days but I'm keeping my focus on the light at the end of our long summer temperature tunnel.
PODA -
** Public school
** Homeschool
** Gym with DH
** Family doc appt for my test results.
Sleep chatter - the downside of sleeping well is I'm not aware when things happen. I slept so deeply that I didn't wake up when DS15 dropped a glass container of tuna salad during the night. DH woke up when it happened and helped DS15 clean up the mess. They told me about it this morning and I watched the camera video. I'm not sure I am comfortable with sleeping this deeply and being unaware of what is happening in the house.
I enjoyed the process of making hourly plans. I do better when I break my day up into small segments and just focus on one segment at a time.

I am still feeling tired, didn't sleep well last night. One trip out with ddog, when I took a couple of Advil because I had been waking up achy off and on. It was primarily hips - kept turning side to side to get comfortable. And alarm didn't budge me for 45 minutes either.
I'm ahead on my steps for the week so only walked two laps this a.m. I have a workout this afternoon and dinner out so I'm conserving my energy a bit. I'll let dtrainer know that as well.
I'm on a third cup of coffee. Need my breakfast and s2s still. I am dragging. Oh, I'll s2s after workout.
Some small things for today:
-bring down recycling from upstairs (carried over from yesterday)
-clean outside refrigerator
-fix tall bookcase (? don't know what to call it) in laundry room - I got shelf pins from Lowes yesterday to get shelves into place
-figure out Rosh Hashanah clothes for temple - I haven't "dressed" all summer I think
-try new bins upstairs in bonus room for 6 x 6 paper and dies

as our a/c decided to go kaput; I have the repair company coming out to access the situation. praying it's not expensive.
I also have the window washer coming today. AsI broke my leg this summer; I feel it's for the better to have someone else take on this job.
I tried starting a diet again and every time I do I eat like crazy - self sabotage. I know I can do this but I have to get past this binge time.
today: cook the beets to make a salad out of, ask dh to get an English cucumber for a salad, potatoes need using.
Other things that need using: large portobello mushrooms which I plan to make mushroom burgers out of.
I wish you all a wonderful day!!!!
time to set up my meds.

Still in my dressing gown. I blessed myself with unlimited time on the balcony today. I got up at a reasonable hour so no excuses. The heat warning was supposed to end last night (according to the government forecast around 5) and I think the fact that it has been extended is part of why I am such a slug. I did my best to keep going for the past few days and was looking forward to a wonderful, fresh air, day today. Instead everything remains shut up.
On the other hand, our a/c has not failed so that is another blessing.
So far today, I made the bed, emptied the dishwasher, pulled tomorrow night's dinner out of the freezer and put it in the fridge to defrost, trimmed all the 'dead' (but then resurrected when they got water) plants on the balcony, researched how to overwinter geraniums, researched who has rooting compound on sale, and spent ages going over the grocery flyers and reading up on how to maximize points. Today is 20% off day at the pharmacy so, at the very least, we'll walk there for milk. But I have a long list of items that will increase my points collecting. I tend to "earn & burn" using them for Turkey Dinners (Canadian Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter) and usually only have $20 - 40 dollars worth to use at those times. But I've been learning about how to maximize point collecting by actually reading all the offers they send to me each week. I have to balance that with making sure I'm not paying more, even with the points savings, than I would at a non point collecting store.
Today is the fabric and craft supply exchange for the buildings so I'll be part of that, at least set up and take down.

Baby stepping my way through getting some things done.
Done -
** Put salve, gauze on gash and wrapped Ds15 hand with ace bandage. It is healing well but hasn't completely sealed with his constant use. Every day is getting better.
** Harvested bell peppers and sweet potatoes
** Watered rabbits and moved their cages to fresh grass
** Sliced sweet potatoes, onions and okra from garden and put into air fryer. This is my first time trying to roast okra. I have always pan fried or boiled it. Roasting is WAY easier if the end result is acceptable.
** Found two pieces of broken glass around the edges of kitchen floor. Apparently, the guys didn't clean up the mess as well as they thought.
** Answering text messages
** Caught up on GroupMe chat messages. Responded to several
** Ordered Ozempic refill for DH
** IEP review meeting set up for DD12
While doing these things I'm listening to the
Value of a homemaker chat

hello again. I love that I have been able to come here more often than not!
kitchen dailies done
family room dailies done - I should wash the floor but I swept it.
the window washers are gone - I feel bad - they left before I could give them a tip. They did such a good job.
gave the one cat her medicine and her her special diet.
vacuumed the braided rug from under the kitchen table and will bring it to the rug cleaners
I haven't exercised the dogs yet.
beets are soaking for a good cleaning before cooking - the last of the beets from the garden.
waving to all of you!
