I am sitting having a tea and thinking how lovely Kathryn's day will be.

My plan, at the moment, is to switch the closet around and bring the long sleeved stuff to the front and put the short sleeved stuff at the side.

Other than that, I have knitting this afternoon, but I don't know if I will go.

I think we might have BBQ pork chops for supper. Dh has a squash he wants to eat . I have also discovered that he hasn't been eating sweet potatoes. He has been eating yams. I just found out that yams are more pointed at the ends. I don't know if he also wants a yam.

There is very little wind, so I will also have a fire going outside. Maybe. Dh doesn't seem very motivated, so I won't have any help moving any wood that might be too heavy for me. We have a nice, neat pile of wood that needs to be burned outside, but it's in front of some tires that dh wants to sell. All gently used and they have to go.

I have assumed I am growing and eating sweet potatoes, but what if they are yams? I went searching to find the difference between yam and sweet potato. According to this information mine are sweet potatoes. A couple years ago I bought a regular and a purple sweet potato from health food store. I made slips from those two store bought potatoes and have been growing from them every year since. The sweet potatoes last all winter and are easy to get starts to plant more each year.

I've been outside twice to get hourly steps accomplished. While doing that I used Windex on SUV back window and the glass front storm door. I also caught a cricket for DD12 to consider using in her insect collection.

PODA -
** DS15 is teaming up with Tylee to work for Sam 8am - Noon. DS15 was freshly showered, hair washed and wore a dress shirt to work. hum..... Why would he wear a dress shirt to work on a ranch? Oh yeah.....he will be working with a 14 year old girl so I guess the need to look his best might be there.
** Pausing to appreciate that I have nothing on the calendar for today. This only happens a couple of times a month. ***Nice!!**

Deep Cleaning/Decluttering -
** Kitchen - Refrigerator and stove deep clean. I planned to do it yesterday, but things kept happening and I didn't find the time.
** Fun Room - Church bench cleared and wiped down with wood refinisher
** Garden - remove a plant that is past its prime

Cooking -
** Salsa from garden ingredients
** Cowboy Dinner {Cornbread, Beef and Bean Casserole}

hello dear ones!

d lady how interesting about the sweet potato slips!

hi d Nancy yay on your knee feeling better

hi d Cathy thank you for the start!

it's getting warm again
I have to appreciate the moment bc before I know it it will be well below zero and I am sure that I will be complaining it's cold

I woke up at 10 am!!! nooooooooooo! ;)

I have 1950's autumn music on - I think of my mom in law. it makes me feel all nice and cozy; even though its hot. Now if there was a bit of chill in the air I could see having a fire and making soup.

I wish you all an amazing day!!!!

We awoke to a drizzle. Glad that yesterday was the sprouts' photosynthesis day!

Decided I would do my walking in a grocery this morning.

We decided on a full grocery trip, which worked out fine as just the lightest drizzle continued, keeping cool. No brutal heat on this trip! Got wonderful bargains on several things I wasn't expecting. 2 for 1 on sensitive laundry detergent was a woo-hoo.

Asked for direction to some vegetarian items and got into conversation with butcher who was just told by his dr he should no longer eat meats except chicken, sparingly. (stones and crystals recurring - kidney and gout, etc) I left HRH and the fellow talking about their experiences and which food caused them the most trouble, how HRH prepares various not-meats so others will eat with him.

blessed, re: autumn - I found figs! Yea. Found caramel apples! It's that time of the year. Bagging lady and I had a cheery conversation about making caramel apples and making a mess, lol.

It sounded like you had the nicest conversation with the bag lady. - I love those types of moments - having a nice smile and a laugh is the way to enjoy each others company! I envy that you found nice figs. The figs in the stores are always way past ripe. I finally bought a Chicago hardy fig - so far we have had 4 figs ( a summer of watering and protecting and I got 4 figs 8-) ) It is a beautiful plant though and I hope it will live past this winter! I have to put it in the garage or the 3 season room).

so happy you don't have that brutal heat! yay on grocery shopping and getting a 2 for 1 on the laundry detergent... it is a woo-hoo moment! yay!!! *\o/*

? How long did it take until you started enjoying being off meat? I like lentils and beans to a point.

Okay I have to do a 5 x 5 as my brain says I should be raising chickens on paper - plan big and not work .

I had some summer stuff in the washing machine, so I dried that load and put the stuff on hangers. Now all my clothes are on the bed on the their hangers and I have run out of steam...

I just feel more tired these days. I need to make an appointment with my doctor for a physical. I haven't had one since BC. (Before Covid)

Trying to decide if I want to go to knitting.

Knee is better
Nancy - that is great news!

DH volunteered to help me when I said that I was going to pull the refrigerator & stove out to deep clean. With the appliances pulled out of their spots it revealed a ucky dirty, greasy mess. We got busy and both of us cleaned & scrubbed nonstop for an hour. I was rather amazed that we accomplished so much with just an hour of work. I might be caught peeking behind the appliances over the next few days admiring our effort.

DH is such a supportive fella. Only after we finished the cleaning project did he mention he was going to watch his favorite football team play. ARGH!! He missed the first half of the game. We could have easily cleaned a different time or at least put the game on in the kitchen so he could stay up with it. I feel bad for doing this cleaning project during the game. I had no clue.

hello again.

lunch is done
dw was emptied this am and filled and washed again. (well washing again)
swept the kitchen floor well
counters, sink, table cleaned

noticed: vacuum cleaners have been in the family room and the kitchen for 2 weeks
Instead of worrying why I left it out - I am just going to put them away until I need it.

I know I have to do the following today but it is so overwhelming to me right now.
play and train dogs
exercise/ stretch
garden work
I think I am overwhelmed bc I am thinking I have to do it perfect (too huge) instead of just 10 minutes.
I then put it off which it doesn't get done. I need to flip my mindset 8-)

hello d lady so glad that you and your dh could work together! wonderful work!
such a sweetheart that you have d lady! it's okay - I am sure if it really bothered you then he would tell you.
hope he enjoys the rest of the game!

hi d cathy yay on your cloths being done!~ if you decide to go to knitting - have a great time.
I also have been really tired the last 3 weeks - my body has been on sludge mode. muscles are tighter than usual. Hope your physical gives you the answers you need to feel better.

hello everyone.
