(Dictionary day)
Foibles: a minor flaw or shortcoming in character or behavior
admired their teacher despite his foibles
Following up on yesterday's discussion, we all have these little foibles of our own and often see our children adapt and grow up without harm.

What are your own foibles?

Hi!! Thanks for starting us off today Twins'Mom!

Dryer has been emptied. Most stuff put away. I also dealt with most of the stuff on the coat tree last night.
Car has been moved so dh can take the trailer full of scrap metal to the metal recycling place.
Dishwasher is doing it's thing. There is a sink full of stuff that has been soaking for too long, so I should get up and deal with that.

Dh wants to take me out for Vietnamese soup tonight. I would love to have the kitchen cleaned before we leave.

I have written down a bunch of stuff I would like to have done before I go to bed on Sunday night. Just the usual stuff, like sweeping and mopping floors.

A load of ADD here, some social anxiety, a dash of OCD and bit of depression creeping at the edge. I'm amazed at my kids sometimes, that they're as together as they are.

I gotta get straightened up for the dcleaning lady and need to go to the grocery store. Ddog is making me crazy barking this a.m.

Woke up thinking that this was Sat. nope it is Friday! LOL!
QT & planning & journaling mostly done.
Got my order for Oct. placed.
It is not Oct. but things will not come till next mo. all through the mo.
Some things I'd been thinking about for quite a while glad I did that.
Full moon was pretty.
Got pages in my planner for the new month.
-----
Sewed up two seams for a pocket think quilt block a bit wonky but when I press it should improve.
OMM ~
Considering small zip bags for Rx. insulin, bs meter ect. with elastic and inside pocket for my purse.
Elastic to hold vials of insulin bottles in place. Might need to draw up a pattern first.
This would be a great place to begin. Having several would be great so I could wash one up and still have
one to use might need 3 of em.

Huge ta-da for me... the island has been cleared off and cleaned!!

After I was done, I went and sat on the couch to see how it looked from dh's point of view. He went to the metal scrap yard without me. I don't know when the furnace guys are coming back to install a completely new chimney. I called the company and they will let me know as soon as they know. They said they would call back later this morning.

Twins - Thanks for the start.
we all have these little foibles of our own
. Foibles! The perfect word for what I was attempting to describe yesterday. I think it is easier to see foibles in other people rather than myself. Maybe because I have learned I have to develop work-arounds and the foibles become less of a struggle? I'm not sure.

Cathy - Thank you for sharing about writing things done. That is exactly what I need to do so my mind will quieten. Once things are written on paper I can categorize and prioritize them better.

I have encouraged DH to take 24 -48 hours off today & tomorrow. It is a rare opportunity where we have no events on the calendar. He is feeling exhausted from the nonstop doing. DH is a bit of a workaholic who always has a project going so I don't know if he will be interested in staying in chill-out mode.

Cooking -
We have several ready-to-eat dishes available. I'm going to experiment with roasting rutabaga today.

Deep Cleaning/Decluttering/Organizing
** Finish projects planned & started earlier in the week.

Good morning! Don’t know if I could tell you my foibles “from the inside,” as it were. Diagnoses, on the other hand… I’m diagnosed bipolar 2. I come from a long history of what I call “faulty wiring” on my father’s side. (Lots of bipolar, some epilepsy, a fair bit of substance abuse.) OTOH, I’m sure my mom would be diagnosed with ADHD these days, and her mom definitely fit the bill for anxiety. Sometimes it’s nice to have a name for things, and it’s definitely nice to be able to be treated for those things that can be treated, but it does seem sometimes like folks want to pathologize everything. OTOH, if somebody could give me a pill that would give me the drive to get my house clean, I’d take it! ;)

Did not manage to catch up much yesterday; I ended up making the squash toasts that I made for girls’ night for dinner, so that was pretty time-consuming. Everyone, even picky-eater DD, liked them, though it did make for a bit of a light supper, so we supplemented with ice cream for dessert. :) On the one hand, I should try again to get caught up today. On the other, I really need to get to the shoe store; I have a coupon that expires at the end of the month, and the only shoes I have that really fit are developing a crack in the leather. I think I will go after dropping DD at work; DC will probably agree to come along if I offer it instead of cleaning.

I need to rouse DC, clean up the breakfast dishes that are still sitting in front of me, and work on payroll.

Home from grocery. I gassed up the car too. I don't have pantry stuff put away but did put away refrigerated items and what goes in garage refrigerator as backup. I truly feel lousy and am running 99.9 temp. Probably flu vaccine - I hope my immune system is kitckin' it. I'm feeling achy (that may be prior aches and pains) an over tired and fussy.

I just took iburprofen, I'm going to eat a very little so tummy isn't empty and then nap.

I am most definitely OCD. Books can't just be alphabetical, but each author's books are in order by date of publication. CD's and DVDs are in alphabetical order. Same with my pantry and the spice rack. I have found in the past that CBD oil calms that down a bit.

Most of the dishes are done with a load of pots, bowls and large measuring cups in the current load. All large pots and pans have been done by hand.

I love when you all give me things to think about and in turn bettering who I am!!! Thank you d twins!!!
I do have foibles and many that are not as easy to change as I get older!

HI d Cathy - yay on the put away and laundry being done. Also yay to your dh taking scrap metal in!
One of my daughters used to dance to the rhythm of the dw!
Yay on the island being cleared.

d twins hi I am sure the social anxiety is bc you were awash with social activities the last week!
ADHD/Ocd and depression and anxiety I find go together. Personally my ADD leads to depression. My OCD I find is part of the ADD.
Glad your dd and ds are having fun together!

hi d Nancy, you get an extra day! Friday it is!
yay on sewing and creativity.

hi. d lady! I am so happy you will have no events for two days!
please tell me how the rutabaga recipes went!
happy work day!

hi d mystery. on my dad's (my grandma's and my grandfather) side there is a lot of faulty wiring physically and mentally. I think it's good to know what is going on but I am not crazy about others pigeon holing others on a diagnosis. I take meds to help my depression. it's been good to me. She wants me to take ADHD meds.
--------------------
okay you asked for it.  8-)

my foibles - light of the thousand fairies. ADHD. Thinking too big and then have to whittle down., introvert but can be a social butterfly to people I don't know.

how is that? :D :D :D
