Manage the day, don't let it manage you! What are you doing to manage the day and be proactive?

The dog and I walked three laps and I have some of a.m. routine going. I need to be at massage therapist's at 11:30 and have errands to run while I'm out: recycle, dry cleaners, and check HOA P.O. box. I need to finish a.m. routine, including breakfast and s2s before I leave at 11:25.

Our supper is grilled chicken (raw chicken thawing already), sweet potato and a green veggie.

Good morning, Twins. Thanks for opening the village for us.

Hi Nancy!

Blessed, I hope your dcat is feeling better today.

Beautiful day for walking this AM. Back home & had breakfast, then started laundry. Several loads to do today. My managing focus will be on recipes at some point today. I keep recipes I've made & that we like in color coded folders that are closed on three sides inside one of my kitchen cabinets. They are organized by category -- meat, fish, pasta, veggies etc. I've been making a lot of the same well-liked meals lately & want to make some different ones. Rummaging thru the folders always inspires me as I find delicious recipes I've forgotten about.

Waiting on a repairman. Dh just told me they called & will be here in fifteen minutes or less.

~~~ Waving to everyone. Hope you all have a wonderful day. :)
Hi!
I'm trying to NOT do anything today. So far I have dusted the living room and my china cabinet in the kitchen.
I also asked dh if he smelled the litter boxes and he said no. I might change them anyway.
It's another gorgeous day here. Dd has texted that she will text to let me know when she is on her way here. She is going to her cousin's place for a few days and I have some stuff for her.
No plans for supper yet, but dd and I are going to a local Indian place for lunch.
Happy birthday to Sunny and Cathy today!
I had body work and ran errands. I left the key to the HOA P.O. box at home so had to retrieve it, I've decided it should be left in the car for now. Or maybe I should separate (there are two) and keep one in the car.
Ddog had some outside time and now I'm upstairs. Dh came home and got his sports car, which lives in the garage, to get a tire checked. It's had a slow leak and he found a nail in it.
Yesterday my nose was runny and the right side of my nasal passages felt raw or irritated. Continuing today. I can't imagine having COVID again but it's the first thing I think of now. BTW, a household can now order 4 free tests at https://www.covid.gov/tests
Twins... Thanks for the link!
Happy birthday to Cathy and Sunny. Hope you both have a wonderful day.
Its migraine season and I started one during the night. Was able to shut it down by noon. Been catching up and paying bills since after lunch. I have a prescription I need to pick up at Walgreens. I also have an appointment for my migraine dr on Wednesday. Can't come soon enough.
Sweetie is doing pretty well. We went to the drs last week and he was given Aricept, which is pretty common for Alzheimer's. Dr talked to us about the new drugs that are becoming available, but he doesn't seem much advantage tor taking them, plus its given by infusion once every two weeks. I am seeing Sweetie struggle over little things like word retrieval or names of things, but his behavior is doing well. Everything the dr suggested about how to keep
Sweetie on track are all the things we are doing...good sleep, which is needed to regenerate the brain at night, clean food, which we already eat, and exercise...Sweetie walks 2+ miles every night. Sweetie doesn't carry his phone with him when he walks, doesn't like how it feels in hi pocket. His solution is to carry a piece of paper with his name and address in his pocket. Told him that wouldn't help ME if he got lost. Can't put the app, find my people on his phone because he has a cheap on and I can't download the app. I bought an air tag for my luggage before I left on my trip and he knows people use them on their dogs so they don't get lost so he said he would carry it when he walks. We had a good laugh over that :D
This morning we had another difficult discussion about funds and monies. I had to ask how I would access monies needed if and when Sweetie needs to go into a memory care center. Not a conversation you really want to have, but a necessary one for me. Just makes everything more real.
My hair is in wild woman mode..better know as lion hair. I washed it this morning when I showered but had energy just to blow dry it. It is what it is..
Off to pick up my prescription....
I'm not sure how well I am managing stuff. We had the guy from the auction place here this morning. I had to get up early to be ready for all this excitement. :roll: We walked around and went through everything. I don't think he was much impressed with what was in the truck. He didn't think it would be much trouble to sell the truck. All the tools in the truck would be sold together in lots of stuff. He was real interested in the scaffolding. That stuff looks brand new as it's always been stored inside and rarely used. 60 - 40% for them on the tools and 75 - 25% for them on the truck. It would be way less work for us here. DH isn't happy about giving up 40% of the worth of the scaffolding. I wish we could figure out how to do this ourselves, we'd save ourselves a bunch of money.
So, I don't know how this will play out. I'm giving DH a while to process it all.
This took up most of the morning. I'm not going to think about it for a while.
Dentist called and made DH's appointments earlier than we'd done. That's good. He wants to wait till rainy season is over before getting his knee done. I'm not going to think about that for a while either.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUNNY AND CATHY S!
