It's five o'clock somewhere Friday PYWC
I was wide awake just after 4:30 because nature called. Because we leave the kitchen light on low, I could see that all 3 cats were working together in the kitchen. This will be the second mouse in the house in less than a week. Here it is an hour later and they are still "chasing" this poor mouse. It's not a chase if 1 tiny mouse is cornered by 3 cats. I really love seeing them work ear to ear with each other without any hissing or growling. The tiny one is just as fast as the oldest one, they both tend to hunt well. The third one sort of sits back and watches. I've never seen her at the end of a chase. She will start a hunt, but let's the other 2 finish. By the way, the baby of the family is feeling much, much better and isn't hobbling at all. In fact she got outside yesterday and she was sprinting across the back yard on all 4 paws.
What a way to start my day!
I really, really wanted to sleep in this morning. Oh, well.
I think we might have salmon for supper.

Morning…
My goodness and I thought I was up early at 6:09. Seems to be the magical time as I naturally been waking up at that exact moment naturally for the last 5 days.
Drinking coffee and getting ready for class, then I have my coffee gathering. Want to stop by HD to buy some mums…will plant them tomorrow. Meanwhile I still have some laundry to fold. Spent hours trying to tie up ends and trying to order my moms birth certificate and my g-fathers death certificate. And still have several other birth certificate for my grandparents.
Off to start my day… waving to y’all see ya later

Update... cats chased this mouse for over 3 hours before I opened the door to let them out for a while. Both large cats went out a bit reluctantly. Baby cat is usually the first out the door and she didn't come to that door to be let out because she was still on the hunt. I ended up opening the front door and sweeping the very much alive mouse out of the house and the baby cat only went out after the mouse went out.
While they were trying to get the mouse out from under the wire shelves where I keep all the plants, I took all the blue cornflower corningware off of the shelves and watered the plants. I will wash all the lids after dh has his shower.

I find it fascinating to watch animals do what comes naturally to them. Sam (Whippet) is a natural hunter. Any small animal that comes into his yard won't be leaving alive. Our newest-to-us dog (Border Collie & Poodle mix) seeks high ground. He jumps on top of our whole house generator and uses it as his "King of the Mountain" spot. Micro (miniature Yorkie) doesn't know how small he is and thinks he can run the world.
I've finished my 1st hour of the day.
Steps are done.
Accomplishment - planting radishes, beets and pak choi in #1 raised bed. Harvested some sweet potato vines and fed them to the rabbits.
Reward = Cup of coffee. That first sip is soooo very good!

Cathy S. I luv the mouse & cats adventure stories!
I got up at four to use the restroom.
Stayed up did my qt & journaling and glad that is behind me.
Remembered I did need to do some laundry & while I'm in that room going to try to sew a seam or two on some projects
I've been considering. Got most of my other stuff done this week yea!
I can put branches in one of the empty cans to get them out of the trailer and more portable, might be a good day for the fire pit.
I have soup leftovers to use up.
Got dressed.
I've had most of my bfast.
Did two rounds filled two cans to leave or burn trailer is nearly empty now just some compost leaves
I can use my new to me wheelbarrow to move em to the plant cage.
Dd & I had a good visit.

Re: It's five o'clock somewhere Friday PYWC
OH my! You people are early risers, like my dh.
I didn't get up until 7:45ish and need to get rolling. (So tired last night after workout that I was asleep before 10 p.m. even.) I have a haircut at 10:30, before then need shower, breakfast and to walk the ddog. (Ddog has already had a lap with dh so she can wait a bit.)
Ah, didn't get this posted, so now I'm eating breakfast, then I'll head out with the dog for a lap or two. Need to leave a little less than an hour. I have our sheets in the washer. I'm on track.
And now....I've walked the dog and will be leaving soon.
LadyM, dMillie is being tormented by all the squirrels and chipmunks in the neighborhood. They are extra active gathering acorns and seeds and I think they know she can't get at them. Of course, she pulls the leash thinking if I'd just let her go she would have them. Not a chance of that!

The 2nd hour of my day is done and I'm half way through the 3rd hour.
2nd hour -
Steps are done.
Accomplishments -
** Teamed up with DH to make omelets. I chopped vegetables while he did everything else.
** I started the first fire of the fall last night and it burned all night. This morning I added some more wood to it so the big log would finish burning. I use the wood ashes in my garden.
** Packaged large bag of shredded cheese into 2 cup packages to put into the freezer.
** Created a menu plan for the new two days using items that need to be used.
** Chatted with DS15 as he was getting ready for work. Discussed some plans for the weekend.
Reward - sitting at table with DH enjoying our cooking efforts. It was sooo good!

Re: It's five o'clock somewhere Friday PYWC
Good morning!
I am not feeling as draggy as the past few days, but I haven’t really accomplished anything, either. Debating whether to do dishes or laundry when I’m done here. With the dishwasher out of commission, we have Mt. Dishmore growing to rival Mt. Washmore. Perhaps when DC peeks out from their room, I will put them to work on one or the other. I know they are awake because I saw them earlier.
DD is still sleeping, as far as I know, and I’m not waking her any time soon. She has a nasty cold — probably not Covid, although I’ve heard that the latest strain doesn’t always show up on tests. So she needs the sleep, particularly as she says she cannot call off work today — they are already short handed. She also says she knows just which one of the little kids gave this to her.
I think I will do laundry first and then dishes. I will also set a repeating alarm to remind me to get off my butt! Have a good day, all of you!

My 3rd hour of the day is just a memory now.
Accomplishments -
** Hourly steps done
** Weedeating in the yard surrounding the garden area
** Rode with DS15 to job site 7 miles outside of town to get couple of nail guns needed at a different job site.
Reward = Laughing with DS15 at our ridiculous conversations. My face hurts from smiling and laughing so much.
