Hi!

All dishes got done before I went to bed. Laundry got switched to the dryer early this morning and now it's all away.

Dh took me out for breakfast.

I have numerous out-of-the house errands. Costco, Walmart, Chapters (for the new Michael Crichton book "Eruption" which was finished for his estate by James Patterson).

Someone mentioned the book The Housekeeper a few days ago. I liked it. No idea she had others. I will be looking for them. Thanks!

Where do the hours and minutes go? It seems like my day just started but when I look at my watch, I see that I have been up and going for over 5 hours.

I just returned from taking DS15 a sandwich and drink. Today he is driving a huge (half million?) tractor and felt himself getting shaky which he thinks is because he hasn't eaten anything. He still hasn't got this new job/eating/drinking timing figured out. I am trying to cut him some slack because he is doing so well in other areas. I don't expect a 15 year old to have all his ducks in a row.

I'm going to rotate through the 4 D's again today. I vote for using whatever tool Is helpful and working for me.

I have a big roast that I want to cook in the instant pot. I might have to cut the roast in half to get it to fit better. Hopefully I can fit in some potatoes, carrots, onions around the edges.

Too many tada's to list but the day is going like clockwork. The only slight wrinkle is that dgs is not napping but he is sticking in his room. He had a poop after I put him down the first time but didn't make a mess despite not having shorts on to stop him from removing the diaper.

I'm all ready to go except for packing my cooler. I'll probably leave the toys untouched as I am taking a break now and don't imagine cleaning up now would help anyway. He can dump things really quickly so better to take this time for a bit of a rest.

LadyM your son is amazing! I think most 15 year old boys would be sleeping all morning, and playing computer games for most of the rest of the day when they aren't eating or having showers.

I went to numerous stores this morning and ended up getting a cottage roll for supper along with a cabbage. I think I picked the hottest day of the year to make a boiled supper. I have 2 fans going. Thank you for mentioning onions, I need to add them into the pot at some point in the next 90 minutes.

While I was out I picked up the second Housemaid book in the series of 3.

Dh and I endured our 8:30 a.m. "sales presentation" and they neatened the condo while we were out. Emptied wastebaskets and trash, wiped down surfaces, made the bed, refreshed towels etc. Afterward we went out again so dh could do an return at the outlets (his third trip there is the charm?) and I walked through two of the outlet stores there that I like. I bought myself shorts and several tops. We had lunch out at a favorite restaurant here; their outside tables are first come first served so I prefer to go for lunch when there's not an interminable wait. We had two appetizers and I had a fish sandwich. Beautiful settling outside on a wide open creek with a sea breeze.

I had a nap and dh went out to walk off his lunch after.

We're grilling chicken this evening. We'll have extra for lunch tomorrow. We head home day after tomorrow, so I expect we'll spend tomorrow enjoying the continued sunshine on the beach.

I'm hoping Kathryn is feeling renewal at the cottage.

Y’all won’t believe this!
Got up at 7:45 — got dmom to appt at 9:45 —
APPOINTMENT IS TOMORROW!
Ugh.
Came home. Took a nap.

So tomorrow we have to do that again, plus make it to the 11:30 appointment at the pain clinic.
Sigh.

the hottest day of the year
I'm there with you. The thermometer says 92 but the feels like temp is 100F. I'm having to get used to that feeling of walking into an oven when I go outdoors. Soon it will become normal, and I won't notice it. I think the high humidity makes it more noticeable.

LucyLee - you and Kathryn are both having some early morning starts.

Twins - your time at the beach sounds relaxing and enjoyable. I love hearing about your doings.

We are home from a quick trip to the city. I needed pine shavings for the garden. I wish I had kept count of how many 50lb bags I have added to the garden this year. I am guessing that I am close to 20 bags now. Also needed rabbit food.
While we were there, I bribed DD13 with a promise of a bonus if she would find a pair of shoes. DD13 has worn the SAME SHOES every day since before school started. Thankfully they were high quality shoes and still look amazing but still. DD found a pair of shoes almost exactly like her current ones but in a different color/pattern. I consider that a win! DD13 requested a new notebook for her bonus prize. I told her to pick whatever notebook she wanted from ARiver and I would order it....the last notebook she selected cost 99cents. DD13 is the least materially driven person I know.
I also found two tall men shirts for DS15. It has been a challenge to find Tall clothes but now I have a source, so it feels easier.

I'm not a sports fan at all.....but considering where I live it is almost impossible to ignore. Oklahoma won women college softball playoff. They have won the last 3 world series ....and now they will play for their 4th in a row.

Thank you for the kind and encouraging words about DS15. I feel like ya'll are his cyber aunties and have help me as he is growing up. He is definitely walking to the beat of his own drummer. None of his friends have any desire to work as hard/much as DS15 does. I used to try to slow him down or get him to work less but learned this is where he is the happiest. Every single day when he gets off work from paying job then he immediately starts working on a project. I do remind him to do his cards before starting the project work. Last night he had a couple fellas and couple gals here visiting with him while he was cleaning up the boss feed truck. I had to remind them to keep the noise down. We are the last house on the edge of town but we still have neighbors. I reminded the teenagers that no one wants to listen to a bunch of noisy teenagers reeving engines and playing music. If they want to do that then they need to go a mile or so out of town and be respectful of the neighbors. Right now, DS15 and a friend are getting parts to work on friends racing bikes. Once they have the parts they will be in the driveway or shop working. Usually when one friend is here then 4, 5, or 6 show up to hang out and share their combined mechanical wisdom. That is just DS15 personality .....he never ever seems to grow tired, lose his passion to be busy, always has 1-6 friends with him and doesn't run out of things to do. He is like an energizer bunny that never runs down.
