At the start of every day, define three outcomes you want to accomplish (not to-dos; actual outcomes). When you limit yourself to just three outcomes, you force yourself to prioritize and focus on what’s actually important.

My Outcomes are -
1 - Raised Bed #8 in its best shape possible. Weeded, potatoes harvested, and bare soil mulched.
2 - 2023 taxes in progress. paperwork gathered and taken to CPA
3 - Medical appointments made. Five phone calls made for medical appts. Periodontist, Dermatologist, family doc and medical supplies (cpap mask and diabetic shoes)

Hmmm... three things.

Laundry is already all away. Dishes are all done and away. Supper will be leftovers from last night.

Cross stitch, reading and a massive book sale. They claim that there are over 100,000 books, games, puzzles. They have the entire playing area of an ice hockey arena. This is in Niagara Falls. Most books are $3. Older/vintage/antique books are more.

I have had fans and air conditioners cooling the house. There is a chance of showers this afternoon. I'm leaving here at 9:30 to go to the book sale.

I'm up have done

2nd working on some notes for writer Wed. from how to write on yt x
3rd. mowing is on my mind to early for that / fill & check for oil level done with check & fill & back yard.

Meat is thawing for meals today.
On a break for a breather took 30 min. to do that mowing.
Walked x got my steps in for today yea!
Cooling off now & hydrating.

Hum....I haven't focused on any of the outcomes I listed for the day.

My 3rd hour outcomes -
** Fresh Carrots & onions cooked. DH bought 5x the number of carrots that I needed. I knew they wouldn't be eaten raw and didn't want them to go to waste so decided to cook them in the juice from yesterday pork roast. Cut ends off, peel and put them into the instant pot. Still had room to spare so added 4 onions to cook with them
** DS15 to work. He needed a ride to boss home. As I was about to walk out the door DH volunteered to take him. DS15 and I looked at each other and both hesitated but I declared DH was mentally okay to do this. Note….61 days until DS15 can drive himself.
** Enjoyed sitting with feet up and drinking a glass of tea. The house is quiet and calm. Nice!

I would rather be absolute instead of tentative on my 3, but we are starting to fly by the seats of our pants around here.

Best stab at outcomes:
1) All hand-sewing on quilt finished, ready for transport Sat morning
2) Each item that arrives by order today tried out (or tried-on). Choices finalized for both Friday & Saturday.
3) Vacuuming, dusting and any other general cleaning/decluttering I can, in case of visits.

Thankfully, a load of laundry for HRH is already complete this morning - that helps.

I'm just going a thread-length at a time on the handwork, step by step. 75 percent done.
HRH's vest needs a tack-stitch to secure the back tie-thing in place at the buckle. (what do you call that? * )

The final-fitting lady is not sure, but may send instructions home with dd for some interior stitching on the dress - securing, not showing. Although I truly hope she doesn't DO that, I understand if she does, so that dd doesn't have to make yet another trip. I spent the evening before my wedding to HRH hemming my gown the second time, so what else is new.

* Answer : it is the "Cinch" and sometimes, the "Adjustable Cinch".

Home from the "Book Riot" and my goodness there were a LOT of people there. At one point the line up to pay went half way around the outside of the rink. They had a "Goal" board at the exit and just before I left they announced that they had already raised $75,000 of the $150,000 goal. That's a lot of $3 books! (Puzzles/games were also $3 and kids books were 2/$5 and vintage books were individually priced.)

One of my medical phone calls resulted in discovering that DH cpap replacement prescription expires today. So we loaded up and drove to the city to get his new cpap equipment. That is a saving of hundreds of dollars that we would have missed out on if I hadn't blundered into this discovery. #Thankful

LadyM there were numerous books by John Sandford in his "Prey" series that came home with me and the Time Life "true Crime" series of 9 books. My "Prey" collection has most of his books now, so that made me very happy. Paperbacks were the same price as hardcovers, so I was able to get mostly hardcovers. Honestly I couldn't get them into the bag fast enough.

Today is perfect summer weather. The day started sunny and bordering on hot but there's a breeze off the lake so I was never too warm. The breeze also limited the bugs so I only had to use bug spray, not wear my bug shirt and head covering.

I watered the plants I brought with me and the lettuce raised bed which is bone dry. I think it is too under the eaves to get rain but the owner said she used it for lettuce in other years. Very little sign of the seeds I planted on May 23. I'll water every day while I'm here.

I went to bed too late and woke up too early so the morning was a slow start.

While having my tea, I did make up a to-do list for this visit.

I did take a shower and trimmed my bangs. My hair is too short for summer (not all will stay in a pony tail) so I'm not getting professional cuts until the hot weather is over.

I also pulled out the hummingbird feeder and will reread what to do (and how often it needs cleaning) before making up the solution and hanging it up on the deck.

There was a flurry of activity, cleaning out the fireplace, bringing more wood to the porch to keep it dry and moving the wood from the porch into the living room. The weather is turning cold and wet for the rest of my stay so I wanted to get that done while it was lovely out.

The big deal was detailing the inside of the car. Over the winter I bought a stick vacuum that could be used on the car (it is plug in, not battery) and with the room to spread out here, I was able to get the car cleaned properly on the inside (but I still have to clean the windows on the inside, I ran out of energy.) I don't have an outside tap here but I used two bucket to get the inside bits around the doors cleaned and also washed the mats down well. I used vinegar on the salt stains in the carpet and they are much better. I removed and then reinstalled the car-seat.

Dh had put it in for me (both were out when we were bringing loads up here) but couldn't removed the vehicle's headrest and told me it didn't need removing. That is true if it is just dgs3 in the seat but the taller kids need the back of the car-seat higher and headrest of the vehicle's seat doesn't allow that. For now I only have one car-seat in the car so there's room for bringing things up to the cottage but also a car-seat for when we are babysitting dgs3.

I had forgotten I hadn't taught dh how to remove the headrest. Just another thing I hate about the tesla, you require a tool to remove the headrest and because of the design of the headrest, you need to remove it to install some car seats and booster seats. If this was a fancy sports car, maybe I would accept that, but this is their 'family' car yet it is designed to make installing car-seats, or even just adults using the rear seat very awkward. The seatbelt receiver is below the upholstery of the seat so it is very hard for an adult with a butt wider than 18", or a child-seat needing a seat belt, to do up a seatbelt because either one's butt or the booster seat itself, is on top of the receiver. Most cars (and my next one) have the receiver sticking up from the seat and flexible to stretch around bottoms or booster seats.

So the car is all reassembled and I've been enjoying the cool breeze and snacking every since I finished that major task.

After dinner, I hope to work on either reading or updating quicken.
