Here we go! We've finished the first six months of 2024 and we're starting the slide to the end of the year. Other than good luck, what are your hopes for the rest of the year?

And it's Canada Day today too! A holiday long weekend! I'm hoping Kathryn gets some bandwidth to enjoy the day, and that Cathy and Bittersweet have a wonderful holiday also! Celebrations all around for everyone! (picturing Oprah throwing out holiday celebrations to the cheering crowds!)

The last three months have been a blur and will be remembered, for the trip and the injury. I'm coming back for the last half of 2024 though!

I walked the ddog three laps this a.m. The humidity has dropped a little and there was a bit of a breeze, so it wasn't so oppressive out. I gotta get my breakfast.

I'm working out today at three to make up for them being closed on Thursday and Friday. Our supper is chicken thighs - not sure whether we have a veggie but we'll work it out.

Today is Canada Day so it's a day off work for me. Well... a day I don't have to go to the office. As always, there's more than enough to keep me busy at home. With any luck, I'll get to spend some time over at the community garden this afternoon.

I got rather sidetracked yesterday afternoon, and then went to visit dMum, so the last round of jobs didn't get done. DH should be home from work soon, and was talking about going out for breakfast. That all depends on how tired he is, though. It may turn out to be lunch

I think I'll get a few things done while I have something resembling peace and quiet:

- get the dishes washed
- morning daily chores
- clean the living room windows
- gather towels and take downstairs to toss in the washer
- bring up clean laundry

DH is home, and is fairly tired, so he's going to grab some sleep, and we'll go for lunch instead. Off to work I go!

I made up 4 mini pizza's b/c they were about at the store.
They are in the oven now. Three to freeze. They are cooling now.

Hi!

VERY boring day here. There is absolutely no laundry to do. All the clean stuff is away.

There are clean dishes to be put away. There are a few plates to go into the dishwasher once I empty it.

I am so bored that I'm cleaning the oven. It's a cool day here and it's windy.

Dh is having a nap. I'm trying to stay out of the bedroom as I have had far too many naps recently.

We are having salmon casserole for supper.

Almost everything is closed here today. Gas stations, convenience stores, some pharmacies and restaurants are the only things open.

Well, that list of stuff is complete, plus I watched several videos for a couple of courses I'm taking and folded two loads of laundry. DH is still sleeping, so I might as well keep on going.

- put away folded laundry
- put away clean dishes
- vacuum hall and bathroom
- flip laundry
- put/throw away 10 things from the dining room table

I think if I'm going to do any gardening this afternoon, I'll need a sweater or a jacket. It's about 65F (17C) out there with a cool breeze

Checking back in with beginning of the month successes.

I got all the annuals into the ground or a pot. I just am not used to the heat. I was in the shade a lot of the time and temp was in eighties with dropping humidity and I was sweaty! But I got that done.

Got a list made and went to grocery store. Anticipating making the hummus/Mediterranean dip for Thursday so got ingredients for that too. We'll grill chicken thighs and I'm making a grilled chicken salad, for dh he'll probably eat the chicken with a salad on the side. Whatever.

I wiped out the shelves of the refrigerator while putting groceries away, and purged things past their dates.

The Roomba is going and so far it hasn't wimped out with something wrong. It's been nearly two hours so hoping it can finish up.

I'll need to leave for my workout in less than an hour. I need to start the washer, didn't do earlier because I didn't remember that towels need washing. I can put them right back where they are hanging and not even fold them.

I need to change clothes for workout. Probably should have something else to eat. I had leftover chicken and veggies from the fajitas last night. They were pretty oily but made for a quick lunch.

Did more dishes cleaned up after cooking adventures.
Pizza's are in the freezer now some upstairs and some down stairs.
Checked no mail today.
Fed ddoggo.
