I'm so happy we heard from Sunny yesterday and that she had talked to Harmony's dd and we have update on Harmony and her dh and an address too!

Let's use the opportunity to keep in touch, and as a reminder to reach out to others in our lives.

I'll be keeping in touch w paternal first dcousin from K-town whose brother died last week. He is to call me today with some "CPA" questions I hope I can answer. Anyway, it will be nice to catch up with him. Memorial service is on Thursday 6 p.m. near K-town. I'm considering calling dmaternal cousins who also live in K-town to see if I could have breakfast with them on Friday morning, if I spend the night there.

Busy week. I think I said yesterday that I didn't cross much off my list last week. I guess some were aspirational, not realistic? The big piece for today is the NGSQ article.

I'm heading out to walk the ddog now. Maybe some very very light rain around.

I did sleep in a bit this a.m. to counteract tired from being out last night. Then I was awake awhile thinking about what dcousin might need to know, and dh was still up until midnight when I got up from bed and suggested that he, sleeping in his chair, might come to bed.

Great theme for the day, Twins! I've written a card, addressed it and will mail it when I'm s2s.

I need to get moving, I have to leave here in 45 minutes for my appointment to adjust my orthotics. I cleverly set that up when I knew the building would have no water.

Ddoggo caught a mouse, it was still a live and got away and she caught it again so we headed to the field.
She would not release it so we walked again and she finally
let it go when we got home it was dead I stomped on it to be double sure.
The neighbors dog was out so I let Ella sniff for more mice's in our yard and
put the dog back in their yard it barked and got let back inside & out to their back yard.
So that was our a.m. adventures today.

I have my 1 ring of over 6k steps done before 8!

Good Morning!

Twins - Thank you for the start this morning and timely reminder.

We have caught 2 mice this week in the house. I suspect they came from the pasture next to us because they are cutting/baling the grass.

I have been nonstop busy the first 5 hours of my day and have 3k steps. However, it is frustrating to see I didn't meet a single one of those 4 hourly step goals. When I am cooking or driving then I won't get many steps in. Ohs well. #RealLife

DS15 called from work and asked how much it hurts to get stitches. *sigh* He cut his hand on a piece of galvanized metal. I asked if all his fingers still work, and if he has lost any range of motion or feeling. I told him to send a picture of the owie to me and I would decide if he needed stitches. I think it will heal on its own, so I grabbed a few first aid type items and headed his way. On the drive there I talked to DS15 again and he declined my help. He said he took care of it himself. That was a wasted 10 mile drive. Ohs well. #RealLIfe

We contacted a contractor about replacing the bathtub/shower. He is supposed to come by and look today or tomorrow.

My kitchen counters are half covered with tomatoes and peppers. I really need to focus on making progress in processing them.

Cooking today - Grilled chicken breast, mashed potatoes, Italian green beans.
I made hash browns and omelets for breakfast.

I am upstairs but having trouble focusing on what I need to do. Going to try for 25 min segments and use my phone alarms.

News overload.

I'm home. My orthotic was quickly adjusted and should be perfect now. I'll try it out later today, for now it is hot and I'm preferring sandals.

The building's water never was turned off. We saw the notice in our 'Landlord Cafe' website but it turns out it was for a different building. And when I looked at the notification again just now, it names the correct building.

I got all my errands done except buying a battery recharger and more batteries at IKEA. They are out of stock. They are the least expensive and most reliable option for that (better than duracell from Co$tco) but are on sale right now so I'm guessing that's why there is no stock even for ordering online.

My errands included buying mousetraps for the cottage. Now I have 3 of the regular cheap ones and an electric one (hence the need for batteries) which is safe to leave out with the kids around. The others I'll put between the fridge and wall and behind something in the corner with the TV which is where we spotted the mouse first. So far we've only seen one. There are mothballs in the ceiling and crawl space mostly to deal with squirrels so the cottage smells at times of mothballs unless lots of windows are open. The back bedroom smells of perfume because when one chewed through the ceiling outside the bedroom, the owner panicked and tossed up a rag soaked in perfume (she heard they hate that) and then sealed the hole with wire duct tape. It's been many months and if anything it is smelling stronger. There is a drowning mass mouse trap at the door to the crawl space so I may set that up under the cottage if that's where they are coming in (most likely.)

Thankfully, I'm not squeamish about this although I still get the creeps or startled when they run by in the cottage itself. That's MY space, not there's. And I hope not too many more moved in while we were here (I can't set the traps up when I'm not there because if I catch one, it will decompose and smell.) Thoughts about the mess I face when I get back to the cottage and how to kill the mouse I know was inside and is likely still there, has been causing me restless sleeps. Most, but not all of the food is in glass jars one it has been opened but I don't know if they'll chew through the boxes of food in the pantry that are still sealed.

Harriet's comment about "car day" reminds me to report that after 7 attempts, I appear to have removed the sunscreen stains dd left in our car. I had to do a lot of research and watch video to see how a detailer got it off. I'm not pleased with the amount of time this took me but next time I know what to do and will likely hit the stain more aggressively (part of the problem was I wasn't scrubbing really hard.)

Home from another drive to support DS15.
Note to self....only 21 more days until he can drive himself. 6 of those days he will be away at camp. So we are at 15 more days of me driving multiple times a day.

Comparing my news sources to DH news sources.....it will be interesting. My news source suggest that hillbilly elegy will be a highly watched movie on Netflix because it is about the VP pick early years. We will find out later today if my news source is correct.

My current Events class today was mighty interesting.
I got some planner white out applied so I can use journal pages as I chose with out their promots.
I am no longer doing mood tracking it changes in 15 min. any way on any given day depending on what is going on! LOL!

Dug out three rose starts
Letter is out in the mail box.
Had lunch.
Washed up dishes.

Did some knitting & spun up some fiber.
