No inspiration for today, but what are your thoughts?

I'm hurting again this morning. I was hurting even in bed and when I got up, then I walked the ddog one lap and met her nemesis, Missy. Of course she went crazy pulling and that didn't do me any good. I'm functioning - eating my breakfast and I took ibuprofen.
I've done some straitening up already for tomorrow, and I'm leaving dh a list for the evening. The main thing is that I need him to wash the new sheets so they can go on the bed tomorrow when dcleaning lady is here.
I only need to s2s and pull together what I'm wearing and a few things in case I decide to spend the night there. Only if I feel it's too late or I'm too tired to drive home.

Twins', I'm so very disappointed that you are still in pain. Couldn't check in yesterday and was already concerned just CUOP. Hoping that the drive does not bother you too much - should you take a break halfway to walk around? And if you do need to sleep over, I hope the bed is like the princess without so much as a pesky pea bothering you.
We have to drive to a somewhat distant appt today. Then, I'm torn about grocery, since I definitely need some things for my contribution to the bday/welcome-home-party Saturday. But since strawberries are the number one item for the cake I've been requested to bake, I might not be doing myself any favors getting them early.
Anyone else notice that this year strawberries have been spoiling quickly? I realize we have now moved out of the most prolific season, but this has been going on for months here. Some new way of transporting, I suspect. We used to think no berries were ever left behind - even dstepdil sprinkles leftovers for the rabbits near her woodshed. But in my current wildlife standoff, I waste. Sigh.
Decluttering of Receipts, Mail and Paperwork is today's challenge. Ramblin', I had almost forgotten that you first encountered the Sidetracked Home Executives concept over the national airwaves - I think that makes you somewhat unique. That appearance was certainly attention that was deserved.
Well, finishing up my oats and mango. Time to get ready for the road.

(((Twins)))
I am three hours into my day. The "take care of ME" items that I am putting priority & focus on are on track.
DH decided he wanted to cook breakfast. He hasn't cooked since before his first TGA episode in mid-May. Now I know why. DH doesn't process simple things like he used to do. Some simple things he does fine. He chopped an onion without any problem. However, when it came to cutting up a tomato he didn't know what to do. The timing of when to add the different ingredients to the skillet was off. Just small things that he used to do without thought in now like he has forgotten how to do it. It is difficult for me to explain what is different because he did manage to cook the meal (with my help). Maybe he just needs to practice, and the cooking skills will return.
EmptyNester -- sometimes we just called her "MT." Has anyone heard from her?
I see her posting on FB. He husband dies a few years ago but she seems to be doing well.
Remember 2M and 3M? (Mother and daughter) They are doing well. 3M celebrates her birthday with an experience. She recently parachuted from a plane to celebrate her birthday. I don't remember 3M age but it is in 80's or 90's. I have such fond memories of 2M and 3M on the SHe boards.
Strawberries - Are you buying organic? That would make a difference in how long they last if they don't have chemicals to slow the process of spoiling. I am still harvesting strawberries from my garden but they don't last long after taking them off the vine. I try to have them eaten or processed to freezer within a couple hours of harvest.

I think I am ready. Appropriate dress plus a lighter layer for a/c and to cover my arms, lol. And a colorful scarf. Decided to wear casual clothes and change later, I'm sure there will be a place at the church, and I'm not sure how we're going to kill the hours until 5 p.m. Whatever. There to support cousin and pay my respects. I have pajamas and a few things to take in case I spend the night. Will wear these clothes home tomorrow a.m. if needed.
Harriet, I'm hoping I don't get on autopilot and forget to stop to stretch a little.

Morning Girls…
I had an early morning start as it is laundry day. Bought new sheets and washed them and redid my bed as well. The older ones have small holes along the one of the sides on the bottom sheets, so I used iron on Pat he’s to mend them.
My ironing board is one of the things I kept when my mom died. It was given to her as a shower gift from my great grandmother so it is 68 years old! I always
love it because even though it’s kind of heavy, it’s very steady and never wobbles when I use it.
Was thinking this morning if the ironing board could only talk, what tales it would tell… baby clothes, my growing up clothes, all the dresses and skirts my mom made, even my hair!
Harriet… I bought my first P&P STE book in 1984 when my son was just three. Then I bought their next one Getting Your Act Together in 1993 when it came out, but by then I had figured out how to consolidate many of my single card together on one index card.
LadyM… your husband sounds a bit like mine. Somethings he’s done all his life he remembers quite well, and other things, not so much. He can’t remember how to write a check or what, for example 7/16/24 means. I can explain it or show it to him, but that doesn’t me he remembers the next time he comes across it.
Twins… hopefully you will have an easy ride to and from K-town. I am contemplating take Sweetie to the Smokies sometime in the fall. He’s never been there and I have a very good friend who lives SE of K-town
On top of a mountain. Her drive to her home is not for the faint of hearts.
Lucylee… I’ve been watching right along with you mostly because I am such a history buff… but Sweetie is focused on it more than me. For a person who has a problem with his memory, he know all the people involve and their history in the public eye. Quite remarkable considering. And because he loves all this stuff so much, I am glad he has something to entertain him at the moment.

I have been watching some of the Rep. convention & talking heads news folk.
Mostly interested in the tactical stuff on the failed protection stuff.

I got the spinning red and white fiber done up yesterday.
Today blue and white.
Did my QT then I headed out while it was cool.
But we got a bit of rain so was on the muggy side.
Have been to the store.
not walked ddoggo ` counting steps while getting groc. /
Update walked ddoggo 2 blocks she is happy with just the short walk now napping.
Glad I found the pens I like this week got 2 packs of em.
Stocked up on stuff a bit another hot week ahead for us here.
I saw they had pup tents set up for the fire fighters here locally in the school ball field they came in for the fires around us.
I'm having my 2nd cup of coffee now.
I've picked apples & taken em to the field the doves were down there this morning.
Got my journal yesterday and wrote out more ideas for writing prompts
my plan is to put them on index cards and use them that way for notes and a rough draft.
Had Lunch.
Put some stuff in the freezer down stairs.

I didn't set an alarm to get up to get the recycling out early. Therefore the bag of recycling didn't get picked up, but the compost and garbage did. I can put it out next week, and there isn't any food in that bag, so it can stay outside between the garbage cans.
I went to stitching and I was the only one there. Oh, well. It was nice to get out of the house for a while.
We will be having pork chops tonight. Zucchini for dh.

Today's teen support trip #2 is done. I went to a temporary work site about 10 miles away and brought DS15 home. He is now at primary employer's home doing things while his boss is away. Not really work items but random requests - Pull boat out of the water, take picture of driveway entrance and text it to him, move mats away from the swimming pool, raise windows in shop, etc etc. DS15 mows his yards, pasture, golf course and around pond on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Today is an off day with no mowing so he will only be working for a couple hours. His boss is on a fun trip to watch formula 1 races in Hungary and Belgium, but it is easy to tell that his thoughts are still on home because he keeps texting DS15 with things to do.
DD13 selected another card for an area to declutter & clean. This card was for 2nd shelf of bookshelf on south wall. She was happy to see that card because she had already declutter and cleaned it. This shelf has....
5 plushies (medium size)
12 toys (small plastic animals about 2" tall)
2 props
1 set of clothes for animals.
All these items stayed. DD13 does use these on a regular basis to create scenes and enact her stories.

Trying to watch the Rep. vp movie on net-flks but it jumps back and forth so much with flash backs had to take a break
it is dang hard to follow.
I did get some done on my yarn and fiber crafting projects.
