Celebrating Saturday

The weekend has arrived - how will you be spending it?
Does your Parade of Daily Adventures have interesting turns?
Is there an event, celebration or destination you have in mind?
Or will you turn your attention to chores for which you have high hopes? It's Gadgets and Accessories Day in declutter challenge for July. And for some (not all) of us, the temperatures are not quite in brain scald weather right now, so maybe some outdoor or semi-outdoor days are possible this weekend.

It looks like I'll be spending a fair bit of the weekend inside. We woke up to a deep red sun, and the sky so smoky you can almost taste it! It's from the wildfires across the province, and some from next door in BC. Our air quality is rated from 1 - 10 (with 10 being the worst), and it's currently at 10+! 
Not to worry.. it's not like I'll run out of things to do inside 
There's dishes and floors and laundry and a bathroom to clean, and enough decluttering to keep me busy just about forever!
I think I'm going to work in threes today, but first.................
-HAVE MORE COFFEE!!
- change the Scent*y in all the warmers
- morning dailies

Harriet, I think you have a duplicate, I'm posting here because it's the earliest time.
I am hoping for a quiet weekend. I think we go to the river for awhile today. I'm advocating for a short day, chance of T storms and rain. Dh is going to say that I had all day Friday to rest. Doesn't matter what he thinks, I'm still tired. I'm going to advocate for separate cars in case I need to leave earlier. But the river, and sitting there with friends, is restorative.
Tomorrow we have brunch w ds and we might see European travel friends out for dinner. They bought a Royal Delft vase for me (expensive, I am reimbursing) when they went to Delft and toured the factory after dh and I left Amsterdam.
Didn't hear more about article, got thank you email for the chart of tax list references and data 1836-1852 so hoping this round of editing is put to bed.
Dog got only one lap this a.m. but I know she walked earlier with dh. My back and body feels better today.
BS, so sorry you have such smoke! It's awful on the respiratory system. I'm glad Nancy has less of it today.

Oh NO! I hope the fires can be brought under control and your air quality returns to normal.
It was raining when I woke up this morning but no lightning/thunder, so I did my morning mile in the rain. At that time the rain wasn't coming down in torrents so I didn't get totally drenched. I enjoyed being outside in the rain
(as long as lightning stays away). A couple hours later we have lightning and thunder joining the rain so I am keeping myself indoors.
DS15 and friends worked yesterday afternoon to get the rear end put back into his pickup. They had a self-imposed deadline to have it finished so they could drive the Duramax to the rodeo. They did get all the pieces and parts back together and took it on a test drive. They decided it wasn't ready to drive very far and they needed to adjust the tires. ??Adjust the tires? That makes no sense to me, but I am not mechanically inclined. ANYway, they did all SAFELY go to the rodeo together last night in DS15 other pickup. He got home a little after 11pm.
DD13 did two more cleaning cards yesterday. They were both fairly easy. She cleaned the top of her south bookcase and the 5th drawer of her dresser. The drawer contained items that belong somewhere else so it is now completely empty and is ready for her to decide what to store in it. She is dreading pulling 3 cards from the sack but so far has managed to pull the cards with easier areas. Eventually that desk top, dresser top and floor cards will be pulled and dealt with.

Time to get a few more things done. It's so much easier to just sit and listen to my audio book, but that will be done in 5 minutes, so I'd best make a new list. I'm going to do one more round inside, and then sneak out for a bit of weeding. I'll set a timer for 15 minutes so I don't stay out too long.
- wash dishes
- toss in a load of laundry
- put/throw away 10 things from my once again messy dining room table

Hi!
Dh went to the falls to get fruit and meat. I went to a dollar store to get new cat litter pans and then to a local store to get the previous type of cat litter. The new-to-us stuff from Walmart had to be changed daily because the litter smelled really bad after just one cat peed. Even dh commented. Oh, well...
I also stopped at the farm stand across the street from us to get a plant to replace the begonia that died. This one looks like a begonia, but I don't think it is. I hope it survives.
We will be having home made burgers on the BBQ tonight to go with cold salads.

DS has taken the laundry downstairs for me, the dishes are mostly done, another bag of trash gathered - mainly quilt batt pieces for kitty cat pads that DStuper Sttorm got hold of and made a right mess of! She does the same with yarn if she can get hold of it... tugs and pulls and paws at it until it's a big tangled mess and then she uses it for a nest! It's a good thing I really don't mind untangling things
Time to go do weeding!

Gee, sorry I hit "post" twice this a.m. I think I was trying to say hello to bittersweet
I (was) baking this morning, hoping the kitchen won't get so very hot if I finish early! Present already wrapped for the birthday grand, and DangerBoy's mending already done for his return trip to campus. Those are the only other two things I'll be carrying to the get-together this afternoon.
All I have left is putting strawberry halves (thirds?) onto the already-iced cake that I'm trying to allow to cool. It's a fluffy icing and so it needs to pretend it's not summer!!!
If I get ambitious, I'll decorate further on top with chocolate "stems", but if I don't get that done, the cake is really nice as it is.
So sorry to hear about air quality and I hope it lifts soon!

This reminds me of how unique we each are. What one considers everyday normal would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for someone else (me).
I might be done in the kitchen for now. So far today I have cooked -
** Biscuits in the air fryer
** Omelets on the stove top
** Fried potatoes, onions, peppers
** Two types of meat. One of them was cooked in the instant pot, the other one on the stove top.
I have 18 hamburgers patties ready to cook for sliders, but I might wait to cook them until later. It is a balance to have enough food ready to feed multiple teenagers while also timing the food prep so there is not too much.
