Good Morning!

My morning mile walk included skunk smells. Eeeeweee! I know there was a skunk somewhere close but thankfully I never saw it.

Today is the day that DH and I return to our normal church attendance. We have been taking a break as DH recovered from his TGA episodes. I am feeling more confident that he is back to normal, so I am eager to go to church tonight. During this break it is a rare day that someone from our church family doesn't check in with us asking if there is anything we need. I appreciate their concern and friendship.

Tonight is the final night we drive 40 miles to and then couple hours later 40 miles from taking DS15 to attend church with his girlfriend. Hopefully next week he can drive himself.

DS15 turns 16 next Monday but couldn't get an appointment to take drivers test until next Wednesday. This whole teen driving era makes me nervous. DS15 has driven for years and thousands of miles in our little town so has plenty of driving experience. Almost every night DS15 is in a vehicle with other teenager drivers and passengers. It seems every year there is one or two local teens killed in car wrecks. DS15 refuses to let me wrap him in bubble wrap to get through these teen years so the only thing I know to do is pray a little more.

LucyLee - I appreciate your being so gracious with my concern. I suspect my teenage driving nervousness leaked over into your upcoming trips. I am excited for you to do them.

Food - it is testing day here. Sam's has 4 kinds of chicken breast patties (ready to eat). I am going to prepare them all side by side and do a taste test. Do we have a preference?
** Italian Chicken Breasts are fresh in deli area. $8.66 a pound
** Mesquite Grilled Chicken Breast is frozen and cost $4.66 a pound
** Grilled Sweet Teriyaki Flavored Chicken Fillets is frozen and cost $3.99 a pound.
** Parmesan and Mozzarella Cheese Chicken Burgers sold in deli not frozen. $5.59 a pound.
I will also be comparing nutritional data - especially the sodium level

Having these ready-to-eat chicken pieces available to make quick meals with minimum prep by me is what I am seeking. It is an easy option to keep on hand. Providing food for 12 meals a day x 7 days a week = 84 meals a week keeps me hopping.

I am up and at em sort of.
Stuff to do today I think but have not filled out my li*t yet LOL!
I am considering some boundaries of things I"m not doing this summer it is good to give people a heads up on I suppose.
A list will be good.
I am waiting for the new round a bout road to be done before I venture out on it after the next hot spell.
Doggo did not get a mouse yet.
I can see the hills in both directions today yea!

Thank you for starting us LadyM. I can go for some wins today. There is NOTHING out of the house today. Dcleaning lady wanted to reschedule to today or tomorrow afternoon and I took tomorrow afternoon for the win.

DMillie and I walked three laps - she spotted a rabbit and I let the leash go - didn't want to go down on wet grass. She chased into back yard of neighbor down the street and sheepishly came out from under their deck when I called her. They bunny got away of course, but she seemed very pleased with herself. The next couple of laps gave her a chance to see there wasn't a bunny every time she went by. Dfriend M calls her Millicent - she might be "Millicent the Mad" or "Millicent the Magnificent?" Three laps were a win and ddog is tired too.

After being exhausted by my workout yesterday it was nice to wake up feeling pretty good and get in some walking. Message from doc that they set post op appointment on 21 August - hopefully after that it's no restrictions and I can get used to having a wrist again! Another win!

Thoughts for today:
-make zinnia card for dcousin's wedding on Saturday (her mother, who is first cousin once removed, has grown zinnias and cosmos for wedding flowers and I have some gorgeous zinnia design paper)
-recycling from upstairs - truck has already been by this a.m. so I'll start with the empty container
-I need to sit down long enough to charge Fitbit battery, I can do that while I'm stamping
-HOA and cemetery accounting, write HOA check
-what else?

Back from my class and a trip to Walgreens. Need to finish up my morning routines but my footprints are gone.

Will let Einstein, the robot, run for a while today and need to do some desk work. But first it’s off to take a shower. I haven’t washed my hair in a week…that’s what ponytails and buns are for.

Spent two hours at the beach yesterday till the big storms ran me and my friends off. Amazing thunder and lightning storms as it followed us home. Made it into the house just as the sky opened up. It was quite a storm with powerful winds, huge lightning bolts and roaring thunder. Today is suppose to be much calmer.

Twins … Saturday night when I walked to the clubhouse I counted 8 bunnies on my way!

LOL on the bunnies, RRose. Here we see them in inverse proportions with the coyotes. Lots of coyotes, few bunnies, etc. Sometimes our yard has visible bunny poop, that's when dMillie is waking me up in the night, I'm afraid.

Today's the 31st! It marks the end of the CoMpLePteLy RaNdOm July Declutter Challenge, to help us shake things up a bit from usual methods or focus plans, suddenly being reminded of oddities like our Jewelry Drawers, Pets' Items, Undies Drawer or the Data in our Computers.

So, speaking of bunnies,
Here's the trip down that Rabbit Hole

I'm not completely CUOP. Got our other half of electricity back last evening. The electricians are also friends, so we talked as much as anything. They pronounced us safe, but very s~t~r~a~n~g~e. Both ds and dstepson came over to join them in shaking their heads over our house. They will be back Sunday afternoon with a new fixture, new outlet, and ready to install the outlet at a new, more convenient place (yay for that).

As we already suspected, the damage, although eye-opening, was contained to one master bathroom light fixture (wall mounted) that has an attached outlet. Over the years, that may have become the weakest point, electrically speaking, so that when lightning did whatever it does, it fried the electric wires inside, also causing a burn up the wall just a few inches. The stink was awful.

With both switches in that bathroom turned OFF and breaker off, the light continued to blink with every strike of lightning following, likely because (they think) the cord in the outlet was also pulling electricity ... .. or something? The word "backfeed" keeps coming up, although I don't think that's supposed to do all this.

Long story short, for 15 minutes after power was definitely OFF to the room, I could predict lightning strikes about one second before the flash outside, just by watching that light fixture from the hall. Ds was at his house trying to believe what he was hearing over the phone. I'd see the light blink, say "NOW!" and then the lightning would flash a second LATER, and I was able to do it over and over again. He was laughing and saying, "My mother is predicting storms!" HRH forbid either of us actually going into the bathroom (probably wise). Dstepson came over when he heard from his Dad, and was in time to witness it happen, too, I think.

"Millicent the Mad" sounds like a historic Queen who kept all her subjects guessing.

I watched an online hour-long precinct meeting with the 5 people running to be our local county commissioner being interviewed. It was a quick way to get a better understanding of the difference between the candidates. One candidate became obvious to me that he is my choice to vote for him. While watching that, I cored, diced and packaged a slew of tomatoes that were waiting for my time & attention. I put 12 more bags of tomatoes into the freezer. Multitasking for the win!

Speaking of Win - We did the taste test and voted.
#1 best tasting voted by all...Grilled Sweet Teriyaki Flavored Chicken Fillets is frozen and cost $3.99 a pound.
#2 everyone said it was okay but not favorite - Mesquite Grilled Chicken Breast is frozen and cost $4.66 a pound
#3 was considered okay by one person, but no one else liked it - Parmesan and Mozzarella Cheese Chicken Burgers sold in deli not frozen. $5.59 a pound.
#4 - no one likes it when compared to other options. = Italian Chicken Breasts are fresh in deli area. $8.66 a pound

I am surprised by these results. The #4 choice has been a frequently bought item recently and considered to be a favorite quick meal. It typically only lasts a day or two before it is gone. Now no one wants to eat it after comparing it with the other options.

Another surprise to me is the price. No one (except me) knows the price of each of the options. It was strictly tested by taste preference. The most expensive option turned out to be the least liked. The least expensive option was everyone's favorite.

I have done errands and am taking a break from putting food away.
Next ...
I need to put cans in the pantry.
Then ...
Rinse off my rig & park it.
