Use your skills and talents to manage your Monday - don't let it run you!

Some of us may need extra attention or management today: LadyM is battling a rash, and Harriet, shingles. May meds, extra rest, and whatever else - calamine lotion? - be management tools for their health today.

Onward to Managed Monday!

I used my day to do my QT prayer and penciled in picks for voting in primary.
Looked over the pamphlet and that helped. Plus I'm
Considering my choices prayerfully.
It is a relief to have that progress made.

Journals done.
Task List next up...

Saw lightening outside so delaying my walk this morning.
Sipping coffee had some water 1st however.

Waving to all of you have a great morning.

Meat does not sound good to me these days, and seeing the recall on deli meat for what we used to call food poisoning back in the day
now is called listeria. Might be a good piece of info. to know.

Update:
Storm warning up for us red flag T-storm /heat advisory too,
So I've showered and we have walked ahead of that yea us!
Breakfast in a bit.

Nancy, I saw in yesterday's PWYC that you had a happy recognition. I will try to find it, too.

Twins'
, thank you for kind words. I do not have the pain I had last time. Did not have itching until after I saw Dr. Fast pickup of meds because it was Sunday afternoon, so ... .. fingers crossed that it's a better situation. I have a feeling they will get busy this time and get me the vaccine more promptly - this UC doc seemed to think I should have already had it, but I was told "in the fall".

Thinking of LadyM's frustration, yes, and hoping it's on the way outahere.

Used management skills (smile) to make an order of groceries for delivery this morning and that's already put away. Our potentially severe weather comes tomorrow/Wednesday sometime.

Used management skills (smile) to call in all info to general practitioner's office.

Ds came and weed-eat-ed yesterday evening, but dgs was only able to mow about half the lawn until something broke on the lawnmower. He had been wise enough to start close to house, which is the most help.

I still gave dgs $10.00, even though he hesitated and looked at ds, because, he said, he's only supposed to get paid when the job is done. I looked at his father myself :| and said, "I have gotten up out of my sickbed to have one happy moment of giving a little appreciation to my grandchild... .." and ds rolled his eyes and told dgs to take the bill.

S2S is important to me soon, since there is little "eruption" right now, and on the chance I'm getting ahead of any that still happens, I know it will be more comfortable. If I later dread the shower, at least taking this opportunity will seem smart when I think back on it!

Hi!!

I've been washing pots and pans and large utensils this morning. At one point I made a large, soapy, sloppy mess on the floor with some hot water that splashed over the side of a large pot. I just mopped it up and carried on with filling the sink.

Clean laundry is being put away.

We will be having sausages and potatoes for supper. If it isn't raining I'll do it all on the BBQ.

Hope the southern SHEs stay safe with the Cat 1 storm.

Good Morning!

Did you know.....
Every year on August 5, NASA's Curiosity rover celebrates its anniversary by playing "Happy Birthday" to itself. The rover landed on Mars in Gale Crater on August 5, 2012, and its mission is designed to last at least one Martian year, which is 687 Earth days. As of August 3, 2024, Curiosity has been active on Mars for 4,380 total days, or 11 years and 363 days.
We are celebrating another Happy Birthday here today with DS16. Poptarts were purchased for our traditional birthday breakfast. We only have poptarts when someone has a birthday. Weird tradition maybe but it works for us.

DH has a follow up appointment with our family doctor this morning. It will be a rare time that I don't go with him. DH mental health is doing amazing now and seems to be the sharpest knife in our drawer. IYKWIM

I'm in my usual Monday morning unproductive state. Last night I made revisions to article, hoping desperately not to have made a mess with the "Tracking changes" function in Word. So that went back this a.m. Still another Joseph/Lucretia problem to resolve but editor did not address in Saturday email. I know she has at least one other article underway, and this one is relatively far along, and she has a life besides, so I don't want to presume and move ahead there?

Anyway, I need to s2s quickly - I have a pedicure in less than an hour. While out, I need to go to post office and bank.

I didn't get this posted before I showered, will head out in a minute. I got distracted by LadyM's post!

Happy 16th birthday to Ds16! Unbelievable day for cyber-aunties!

CI / got deviled eggs made up.
Rolls are raising in the oven.
Kitchen day I suppose ; did up the dishes and spiffed up the counters a bit too.
spiffed up my desk.
made the bed.

We did get some rain thunder is rumbling over head but not to terribly scary.

I've been looking for a new HP chrome book to replace the one that died in the spring.
Waiting for supplies of them to come in learning about the options they have or do not have.
They last for me so I can calculate how much per year it will be.
The other one was $60 per year.
This one is okay but I wanted a new pink one for my birthday / maybe Cmas.

CI / bfast & lunch happened.
Rolls are done & tasty.
Bread is in oven did it later on the last 5 min. of timer.

Dh had to take his lap top back to the geek squad, so I went with him and went to Walmart again. I forgot some things the last time I went. We also needed buns for the brats we're having for supper.

DH is home from visit with family doc. The doc continues in search for anything unusual happening with DH brain. He is scheduled for another test. My confidence is growing that DH mental health is directly affected by getting overheated. I continue to hope it is just that simple to solve.

DS15 girlfriend is here to spend the day with him.

I decided to experiment with creating a dish with fresh spinach. I am in love with it. I have it portioned into 100g servings, so I get to enjoy it for the next few days.

Since I am trying to restrict my activity and let the rash heal, I went looking for a show to binge watch. I am watching The Newsroom. It seemed to start off slow to keep my interest but now I am fully invested and fascinated by the show and don't want to stop watching. I am on season 2.
