Tuesday Timing and Scheduling

Thinking of the hope some of us have mentioned of readjusting our schedules as far as sleeping/awakening and how that translates to our full days. I say REadjusting because we've discussed this many times here with many successes. I remember planning with our village when I was helping my Kindergartner, for instance, and through all her changes to different school's schedules. Even a couple months ago, that child's work schedule was affecting this house, but hey, we've firmly found empty-nester footing now, lol. It's not just that each transition gives us a reason to adjust that schedule, so do the seasons, our priorities, health/fitness.
What is the timing and scheduling that you are pondering these days? How is it good for you or how will it become better for you as you tweak?

I've had two nights of lights-out at 11:09 (smile), so I'm closing in on that 11-to-6:30 sleep schedule. I've been thinking about how this might impact having an exact by-the-clock time for exercise.
But this morning, time taken up by a small flurry of messaging from and to a few doctors that had to be tended (hopefully) before their workdays were intensely underway.
I've spoken with ddil and feel better about taking a little more time for quiet/normalcy and recuperation in my days before starting on dgdC's sewing lessons. Turns out she does not go back to school until the 26th. Don't know how I got that wrong. Dd44's 3 youngest were back at school yesterday.
Twins', how are you feeling?
Cathy, is the cut still painful?
Ramblin', are you feeling better?

Hi Harriet! Thank you for opening the doors to the village this morning!
It seems we are in that "Groundhog Day" lather, rinse, repeat cycle here again. Dh has nothing to do and doesn't want to go anywhere. I have garbage and cat litter boxes to deal with because I am trying to get them out of the house every second day and I missed yesterday. The house did not smell fresh this morning when I woke up.
Thumb is no longer bleeding and it isn't too sore other than when I try to do stuff with my left hand. Typing is much easier today. I have a butterfly type bandage on it this morning just trying to keep it closed.
I need to go to Walmart. Dh is out of peanut butter!!

I don't think this has happened in 10 years!
Realized that today is the 4th "gotcha day" anniversary for our 2 big cats. I should text dd and remind her. She has one of their sisters. All 3 are big cats.
Leftover pasta for supper tonight.

Oh, thank you for getting us started out, Harriet! I'm feeling okay, just hampered by cast and by occasional pain when I move it around. I think swelling is better, the cast doesn't feel quite as vice-like but I will continue with some icing and elevation. I haven't quite felt the stirrings of "getting back to normal" status yet.

Good morning!
I am peddling as fast as I can to keep up with must do's at the correct time. I am trying to get used to having my actions dictated by the many alarm reminders. Once I get back into the groove it won't be such a hassle but for now I am in the hassle phase.
Glad to see everyone is making progress on recovery. Shingles, gashes, surgery are all going through the healing process.
Homeschool happened today but it wasn't drama free. DS16 hates sitting still and doing schoolwork. He tried to convince me that he doesn't need to continue his education. He has several friends that have quit school without any negative consequences that he can see. I calmly listened....and listened....and listened as he presented his case by documenting each friend's current successes. Then I told DS16 I am not judging or second guessing his friends (and their parents) decision with their educational & life choices. HOWEVER those friends don't have a determined Nana who is INSISTING that DS16 not quit school. Not happening. Deal with it. I am careful to pick my battles, and this is one that I am picking. I am ready to go to war over this. I reminded DS16 that his boss is a retired schoolteacher/principal. I know his boss will back me up in my insistence that DS16 not quit school.
Next up -
** get 250+ steps to achieve 4th hourly goal
** Call plumber and get appt to fix two outside faucets

those next up were accomplished. Plumber will be here tomorrow.
We went to CPA office and signed paperwork to finish our 2023 taxes. We filed for extension so had until October 16 to get it done. We always get a refund from the state and federal, so I don't think the government minds keeping our money a few months past the April 15 deadline. I hope to do better next year and get taxes filed without an extension.

You're a smart woman, LadyM, and thankfully, determined. So glad you have another advocate in ds16's boss, who will see (and express) things clearly, too. Options kept open. At almost any job, sitting still will sometimes become a surprise requirement, anyway. No reason to hurry to exchange one reason for sitting for another, especially since the current reason gets summers and other very desirable times off.
Rain here as well, Nancy. Soooooo bored with the constant rain. Our mailbox has a little door on the back that we seldom even remember. A package had been pushed in so far that it came out the back, unnecessarily. Rain had been flowing downward over the package and into the mailbox for who knows how long. Sigh. Couldn't put my outgoing mail in, and had to take it to dd44's box instead to keep it dry at all. Texted her to explain my odd decisions.

I've been to a local mall and went to the Walmart at that location. I also took a slow walk around the mall. As in, I move slower than I used to. I was also able to buy a book that came out today. They only had 3 copies because they are a much smaller book store than another location in the same city. I'm sure if I had gone to the larger store they would have had many more copies.
Most groceries have been put away. I also bought a pair of rubber gloves so I can get my left hand wet.

I've done very little today and I need to at least get through a.m. routine, even now.
I'm starting timer at :15 after and working either 30 or 45 min, depends on how I feel and what I get done. I'm going to put a meat loaf in the oven too. DH bowls tonight but I suggested I bake it so he can eat either before or after.
