Hello all!
When I pop in at 10 a.m. and there's no daily thread and I'm chilling at the cottage I have a heck of a time figuring out what day it is!
So, whatchay'all doin'?
Wednesday— Trying a new thing?

Are y’all just already busy?
Surprise Surprise —I’m s2s, I did my Bible reading… and I’m about to go out the door.
Please say a prayer that this Grief Share group will be just what I need.
Hope you all have a great day and a courageous day if you are facing something new!

I'm here.
Kathryn & Lucylee - Thank you for opening the SHE village today.
Making progress here one step at a time.
** Walked outside with DH at daybreak so he can get some fresh air & exercise before the heat arrives.
** DD13 successful morning start and arrived at school on time
** DS16 homeschool lesson accomplished with no drama. Then he left for work. He is helping a rancher move cattle today.
** DSisIL dropped by for a visit and shared a couple dozen eggs from her backyard chickens.
** Plumbers are here working to replace 2 outside faucets. It involves the water turned off to the house and them going underneath the house. Access to under the house in the floor of DS16 bedroom closet.
** 33 daily SHE cards completed.

Hi!
I've cleaned both kitty litter boxes and the small countertop compost bin is currently soaking in the kitchen sink. All clean laundry is also away. Dishwasher has been emptied. Dh is having a shower.
The only thing left is to make the zucchini/banana bread and make supper. The rest of the day is all mine. I did a lot of reading on Monday and Tuesday and it looks like I might be doing that again today thanks to my sore thumb. It hurts too much to stitch. Bandage is off.
Pest control is coming to spray for mosquitos today, so all the windows are closed and all the cats are inside. Baby cat is being a pest because she is used to being outside all morning.
No idea what is for supper. Dh has 2 fish in the freezer. I don't really want them. I do want dh to remove the fins and the heads. UGH...

I haven't cuop yet but I'm hoping it is a windy Wednesday for Nancy, keeping the smoke away from her.
I was up and at it early this morning because I had a load of laundry for the clothesline today and yesterday I waited too long and it didn't get done. So today the washer started at 7:15 and by 8:30 everything was out on the line.
The dryer here is ineffective on towels and so yesterday's second load of laundry didn't get dry by the time the dryer finished just before supper. I put them out on the drying rack on the porch (didn't want dew out on the line to reverse any progress the dryer had made) and the big towels are now out on the line too because it is so damp here they still aren't dry. The small stuff did dry overnight but my knee braces are also still not dry so I've moved the rack onto the path where it will get the sun when it comes around later this morning.
Ds and family are up at the campground 20 minutes from us so we expect we'll see them today. We went over yesterday when they arrived and watched dgs3 and helped with setup. They don't rough it at all. There's a dining tent providing bug protection over the picnic table and with a large cooking table, microwave, induction burner and kettle. And their sleeping tent is HUGE with 4 'rooms' off a large central area so they have a comfortable place to hang out if the weather is wet and a protected vestibule to put-on/take-off shoes, wet jackets.
Dh commented that we never camped like that. I was thinking that was only because we didn't camp enough to warrant the investment ds and ddil have made in equipment (plus they are often camping with a teenager who needs a place of her own.) They pull a utility trailer to contain all this stuff but aside from dealing with heavy wind, it is a better set-up than a tent trailer or even a small travel trailer (and they drive small cars so can't pull anything larger.) And this is the third of their camping vacations this year (I think they have one or two more.)
We had a good visit with dh's family down in Pickering and while my sister begged-off the brunch we had suggested, we had a wonderful time with dd's godparents instead. Once we knew she was cancelling on us, we texted them (they were an hour into our 3 hour drive back to the cottage) and they had no plans so we had a lovely visit.
There were more dead mice waiting for us when we got back so we ended up with 6 mice over 5 days. But since then, nothing. I set up the water bucket trap in the crawl space so thought maybe that was trapping them but nope, it was empty when I checked it this morning. Dh is still hearing them at times in the night so we know they aren't all trapped so we'll need to up our game a bit and switch things up.
I'm pretty sure they have 'runs' within/along the logs because when I hear them in the bathroom the sound isn't coming from the floor level and setting traps higher is impossible. The same is likely true in our bedroom since where the interior wall between our room and the guest room meets the outer log wall, there is chinking out which I've stuffed with foam to cut the light and sound between rooms. I notice that the foam has 'holes' in it in places that I was sure were closed off so I'm guessing the mice did that. That would explain why the trap in the bedroom isn't catching anything.
My alarm for my morning walk just went off so I'll head out on that and then get to work or play when I get back.

Thank you two for getting us started!
I slept in, I feel like I'm trying to get my energy back. I've done little since the surgery last week, and it was minor, but I am mostly resting and reading. I walked two laps with the dog this a.m., and am sweating like a pig in 80 degrees, lol.
Last night dh floated the idea of going to KY to bourbon distilleries this weekend, because "we didn't have anything on the calendar." By the time he got back from bowling he had remembered things he hadn't put on the calendar that would prohibit going, thankfully.
Today I again get through a.m. routine as a minimum!
Nancy, 57 degrees sounds wonderful. It's sunny and oh so clear today. High only 90, although humidity is creeping up a little.

OK, I cuop.
I'm excited that Lucylee's post today was as she headed out the door. I'm looking forward to hearing how today went for her.
Harriet, Twins and Cathy: keep up the healing.
Re Sleep: Melatonin works for me. Sleep lately has been rough so I am not the best person to offer advice. I forgot the melatonin for the overnight away and slept fine at the hotel. The king-sized bed was so HUGE compared to the queen here that if felt like I wasn't even in the same bed as dh. That's probably why I slept better. I forgot it another night this week and couldn't sleep at all. It was most frustrating and I ended up taking it at 2 a.m. But I think dh's movement played a role in my poor sleep and while the rest of the night went a bit better, it wasn't great and it was rough waking up in the morning. I slept much better last night, partly, I'm sure, due to exhaustion.
NOW, I'll go for that walk.

I must have another Dr appt today, this time faraway facility so HRH is driving me. Snack dab in middle of the day it takes up so much. Then back to pharmacy and probably picking up something to eat and home. This is getting tiring.
Oh, now they call back again and move it one half hour later so just a little more of an all day long feeling. I will deserve reward, HRH too
