The Sunday Scene

How are you setting the scene at your place on Sunday?
Are you looking toward visitors arriving, or travel out for worship, or for meeting needs?
Is there some upcoming plan for the week that needs your attention now, maybe with scheduling?
Or will this be a cucumber-slices on the eyes, feet up, fluffy bathrobe kind of recuperation day?

Morning girls…
I’ll be working most of the day. My office looks like a bomb went off. I’m tearing my closet apart. Once that is done everything in my home will have been reorganized and decluttered.
I have stripped my bed and fe made it. The other sheets are being washed. Our new Goodwill opens this week and it is just up the road from my home, but I think I will take all my bags to the old one cause because I imagine the new store will be very busy during this coming week.
Right now I am finishing my second cup of coffee and airing my leg. I did alright with it yesterday but by early evening it was really throbbing. I am still surprised at that though the dr warned me this might happen because it’s right on the bone and the blood supply going up and down my leg. So I took some Tylenol and kept ice on it for most of the evening before I went to sleep. That helped
He told me no exercising for a few more days. While I was working yesterday I sat in a chair as much as possible.
We went out to dinner last night and I told Sweetie I think I will never need to buy a pen again. Must have 50+ black ones, 30 blue, 20 felt tip, 25 sharpies. 20 colored plus 10 scotch tape rollers and two huge bottles of Elmer’s glue. Also have two boxes of large and small paper clips. The life of a teacher.
Some people collect shoes, but for some reason when school supplies hit the shelves I feel the need to buy some more.

None of those scenarios really fit what my day is going to look like - some baking, some housework, and visiting dMum this afternoon. I've got about four hours or so before I leave, so I'd best get myself moving! What I'd really like is another cup of coffee, but I've already had two
- get some breakfast
- take morning meds
- put away the clean dishes

Hi!
I needed to pick up some apple juice and chicken broth for dh. I was also looking for lemon flavoured jello, which they didn't have. Therefore I went to a small grocery store in our tiny town. At 10 a.m. the parking lot was packed!! Inside the store was packed. Buggies in every aisle, children running up and down aisles. Parents looking down at their phones. The usual chaos these days.
Dh asked if I wanted to go anywhere today. I told him there were dishes to be done, laundry to be done, cat litter boxes to get cleaned and refilled, garbage to get out of the house and I was hungry because I hadn't eaten yet. I need to eat the rest of the lasagna today. There isn't much, but it has to be gone by the end of the day.
Supper will be salmon casserole tonight and the rest of the chicken from Costco tomorrow night.

Good morning!
My day is off to a good start. My normal focuses have been well done. I am still doing the potential new habit even though I am fairly sure I am not going to commit to doing it long term. Maybe if I tweak the parameters a bit it will be a good habit to establish without overwhelming myself. Maybe.
DH was up between 4am to 6am and then went back to bed. I decided to let him sleep and not go to church. I will watch it online. Online doesn't have the emotional/spiritual experience like being there in person with the bonus of connecting with DFriends but today it is the best I can do.
Project - DS16 moving to more independent location.
DS16 and I have started the process of switching 4 rooms. He will be moving from his bedroom & bathroom to an extra room on the other side of the 2 car garage. That extra room is larger than his bedroom and has a larger bathroom. That extra room also has 2 outside doors which appeals to DS16 developing independence.
3 of the 4 rooms needs decluttering which will happen before switching the furniture and stuff. I am not fast like some of you, but I tend to work steadily and consistently at a turtle pace. One change & improvement at a time.
Yesterday I moved a rolling rack out of the extra room. In years past I used that rack for my seed starting similar to a green house. I no longer garden like that so am ready to declutter that complete seed starting set up. I am working my way through each shelf one at a time.
Yesterday we moved a couch and chair to the extra room for DS16 to use. That room will be like a small apartment with Refrigerator, dining room, living room, bedroom and bathroom areas. Think of a tiny apartment.
Today i went through the clothes hanging on the extra room bathroom door and decluttered them. I am not keeping track but I think 5 or 6 pairs of pants were decluttered. Decluttered = put into a 50 gallon black trash bag to be given away. I never look inside that black bag because I don't want to second guess my decisions. The rest of the clothes were put in their new location.

Well, that didn't take very long! Now, of course, Super Storm the Wonder Dog is begging for belly rubs!
She's such a shameless hussy - will roll over for anyone!
Today is definitely a donwanna kind of day. Unfortunately, it's also an igotta kind of day
Instead of sitting here procrastinating, I'd best get my tuchus in gear:
- make banana bread (it can bake while i do other things)
- start washing dishes
- pack up kitty cat pads to take to work
This would have worked better if I'd actually posted this!
The chocolate chip banana bread is in the oven, and a bunch of the dishes are washed.
I'll do the last one plus:
- vacuum dining room and hall (that's where most of the shed hair from Super Storm the Wonder Dog seems to collect)
- put/throw away 10 things from the dining room table
- put/throw away 10 things from my desk

I was MIA here yesterday. I started to post in the a.m., got interrupted of course and never got back to it. We were with friends at the river, and went with them to a Mexican restaurant for dinner. Fun times, V and I did not go on boat ride in full sun but hung out in the shade on the deck overlooking the river. She is doing WW, will complicate menus some at the beach (they are joining us) but I may try it this fall. I need to get back to "normal" this fall but also have Rosh Hashana dinner cooking and house prep.
I'm trying to make a list for this week - we leave for the beach on Saturday a.m. I'm hoping for a quiet day today. Dh has already been out for a massage and he is bowling tonight.
Last night when we got home, ddog's claws got the skin on the back of my hand on the outside edge of the steri-strips on the back of my hand. It looks awful now - my skin is very thin there because of casts (and being old) and it bled under the steri-strips protecting the incision area.
Busier week: I have dental appointment, two workouts (I'm back!) and a list of things that "should" be done before I leave.

Twins - I missed you yesterday. I realized at EOD that you hadn't posted. I am happy to see your CI and that you were just busy living and making good memories. ((((OUCH)))) Hopefully the owie will heal without a problem
the 2 teens and I teamed up to go through the hanging clothes in the laundry area. DH does the laundry, but he has no clue who the clothes belong to. It doesn't take long for a massive amount of newly washed hanging clothes to accumulate. ANYway, everyone claimed their hanging clothes and took them to their closet. It took us several trips to get it done. I probably should have a better system for this but for now I am just thankful that DH volunteers to do the laundry and hang everything up.
Ready to eat food in the refrigerator is down to bread, cheese, and sandwich meat. There are all kinds of vegetables and fruit available, but the teens don't consider those to be something they will eat. This morning DD13 was eating protein pancakes (from the freezer) and bacon bits (from the freezer). She NEVER complains or asks for anything to eat. When I saw DD13 eating plain pancakes I reminded her that we have syrup for those. Her eyes sparkled as she asked, "We have syrup?" I showed her where the big bottle of syrup sits in the pantry, and she was a happy gal as she put it on her pancakes.
ANYway I am in process of restocking the ready-to-eat food in the refrigerator. The things I have cooked this morning =
** Meatballs - 2 lbs
** Teriyaki Chicken breast
** Battered chicken breast bites
Next up - cook some sides for my carb loving teens.

The chocolate chip banana bread is now cooling on the counter and smelling delicious!
Now I'm going to have to smell it all through the house while I'm working and waiting for it to cool. My next list was going to be:
- wash more dishes
- take out the compost
- put the bag of kitty cat pads in the back of the car
only I got sidetracked with something or other (aren't you surprised?
) and that stuff has already been done.
Now I guess I'll have to come up with some other things to do:
- take noon meds
- slice strawberries to take to dMum this afternoon
- change dog blanket on the couch
P.S. I tried the banana bread, and it was just as yummy as it smelled!
