Wrapping up the month of September. Tomorrow begins the month of October and the last quarter of the year 2024. We have holidays ahead (this week for me, in fact), family events, and getting out house in order for a new year.

And I still haven't found the ring. Today I go through the trash in the garage and the bag for the roomba. And go through upstairs again. I have a half-memory of having it upstairs but I can't be sure whether that was Thurs/Friday or another week.

So today is cleaning, looking, doing what I can to prep for the week, Thursday especially. I'll need to set a timer again.

All the brisket is done. Dh needs to slice the second round and get it in pan for freezer. I'd rather not have it in refrigerator so long. OTOH it has be thawed and ready for reheating on Thursday. Yesterday I also did the windows across the front of the house.

Dcleaning lady is here today instead of coming last Friday when the weather was more iffy. We did some porch clean up yesterday and she will vacuum and continue with that.

Update, checked Roomba bag and not there.

Dear twins good morning!!! praying you find your ring!I hope you have a really good day! same for everyone

I actually happy that September is wrapping up - the heat in August always makes me long for fall! I love the garden but once the heat and the dryness hits then I am done.

Next year - since I know that August high heat is hard on me - I will plan a Door county vacation. Plan things with family etc.

Once September comes I start thinking of getting ready for the holidays - planning and cleaning.

Mom's condo people accidentally put my breakfast order to a wrong area (phone). I called again to check and the poor woman at the restaurant did not get the message. I have to go over and feed her and give her meds.

Oh my last night she was not thrilled about us having her meds and her keys - I have to admit my patience was tested a little bit but understood her feelings. I wish she could go back to having her meds and her house keys.

It's Monday morning - yay! a new start

Good morning Twins. I'm sorry that your ring is missing. Hope you find it soon.

Hi blessed! It makes my heart happy to have you back here with us. :)

I'm so far behind on posts here in PWYC that I'm just going to jump back in. It has been cool & breezy the last couple of days, perfect for morning walks. Picked up some small decorative boxes at H ome G oods the other day to corral misc things that I keep on a bookcase here in the office. Also bought photo boxes at M ichael's in a complementary solid color. Pleased with the result. I was told by employee that M ichael's no longer carries the different sized decorative boxes. I remember when they used to have a very large selection that ran along a side wall in my local store.

Dusted the furniture in every room. Moved a little too fast & knocked over a small pretty china basket of flowers & chipped off three petals. Could only find one of the broken pieces so just turned it around so the broken section is out of sight. Packaged a large bag of shredded cheddar cheese into two cup bags & put them in the freezer. Chopped an onion & added it to a large bowl of ground beef & sausage that I took out of casings & tore into small pieces. Mixed it all together & it's in the fridge waiting to be cooked tonight. I'm making meat & cheese stuffed shells for dinner. This afternoon I'm looking forward to decorating the house for Fall :) .

Off to catch up in J&C. ~~~Waving to everyone. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

I found it! Upstairs, on my laptop there, just like I put it on the downstairs laptop. As I said, I recalled having it upstairs at some point, whether Friday or days/weeks before, and thinking I should put it in my safe place. And this laptop closes with the ring sitting there somehow. (I don't use the laptop screen unless I'm on Zoom and need the camera. Have a massive monitor attached to it...)

This has been hanging over me enough that I haven't been able to focus. And haven't slept well.

I need to decide whether I want to try to clean up this stamping/genealogy room. I do need to straighten up guest bedroom and I'll clean the little bathroom up here, in case it gets used.

Dcleaning lady went above and beyond cleaning and looking for it. Once she's done I need to go downstairs and eat. And work on making myself a real list I can focus on. And I can start with tablecloths, etc. too.

Prequel to my post ... ..!

Happy Snoopy Dance (hear the music?) pitter patter paws for Twins'

Hoping all your Rosh Hashana plans go well this coming week, Twins'.

Dove, the store where I used to find those in quantities/sizes rivalling Michael's was called "Tuesday Morning", which was really big around here for a while. Frankly, I don't know if they are still around much but, yes, there would be a whole aisle of those very attractive boxes, often nesting into each other. Another frankly - I admit I never used them as well as I wanted, even now, but I can SEE how they can be used well.

Elizabeth, my R.S.V.P. to your happy Halloween party (if we had only invented the transporter by now) would be a resounding "yes". What fun. Hope you can tell us all about your preparations.

((Twins')) on The Andy Griffith Show episode when this happened to Aunt Bee's broach, she found it in the pocket of a smock/apron she'd been wearing days before. I wish for you that you might just look in the right pocket and, as my dgd has started saying, "Voila!". But if you don't, "C'est la vie", say the old folks... .. from Chuck Berry's homage to marriage.

Okay, that's 3 French language references in one post and only blessed speaks it well enough to be translating quickly, so I'll stop.

News of the day - I slept! 9 hours, up once for potty break. Arose feeling pretty good. Perhaps this is only because it is the 9th day out from restarting the 5 days of antibiotics, and they supposedly last 10. But perhaps I will really be better this time. Although I am still coughing today and still "productive", I did NOT take OTC meds yesterday. Wishing my dry mouth would get better faster, but so glad not to have meds fighting me.

Good Morning!

It is so good to see Dove & Elizabeth CI.

Twins - I am sooooooooo very relieved and happy for your ring to be found. **** Big Sigh of Relief ****

I am enjoying our cooler weather. Our temps for the next 10 days are between 87 - 93F. It is nice to be able to do things outside without constant monitoring for heat stroke. The high heat is gone but we are still in extreme drought which causes burn bans because everything is so dry. The mayor was mowing last weekend and backed his zero turn mower into a bush. The hot muffler touching the weeds started a quick spreading fire. DS16 is frequently on fire control while they are welding fences. The welding sparks cause dozens of fires a day which have to be quickly extinguished before they get out of control. It seems everything is just a fire waiting to happen. I am looking forward to being able to using the fire pit in my garden. I don't realize how much I burn until i can't use it.

DD13 has appt with her counselor today so we will leave school to drive to the city. I will take DD13 out to eat at her place of choice and hopefully be able to fit in a quick stop at WM for a couple things.

I just came home from mom's - I think I am going to have to accept that when I am there it will be one and half to two hours at a time -10 to 12 or 10:30 to 12:30 pm.. She showed me around her house and told stories to me about her art etc. She was as happy as can be!

she beat me to eating something. I don't know what it was but I now it wasn't bad. (I check the fridge daily).

I dropped off the breakfast that was for this morning, dropped off lunch for her, gave her her meds.
She was wearing her nightgown!!! first time in a week!

She was super cheerful and I am grateful since last night and yesterday she was not as pleasant to deal with. We all have our days!

She has become forgetful of the things she has - she has a lot of totally different stories, she also has extra houses that she talks about. that were never part of her life. (Probably vacations). The true memories break through every so often. (but they are always cheerful stories).

I think I will put take pictures of things and write the true stories of her antiques etc. before she and I forget completely.

Time for dailies, shower, outside work for 2 hours.

I had ordered for jars lids a while back but forgot to order the rims.. I had been having trouble with the jars sealing with ball so I thought I would try something new. I just figured out what the problem was - There must have been a problem in manufacturing the rims at Ball. I tried some old ball lids and rims that I had and they worked beautifully - my newer boxes from last year would not tighten at all. I heard other people had the same problem. (the rims were a minuscule too big --- you wouldn't have noticed it.) I dislike spending the money but at least I know these will work.

waving to all.
May your day be filled with JOY!

I turned on some 40's/50's fall music as a warm remembrance of d mom/d dad in laws
