We all take breaks from routines now and then, whether it's illness, travel, or just living a slower life. The trick is to get back on when we're ready - since LadyM is getting back on track after recent surgeries, let's all work together to get back on track! Today we get our lives together!

Dd comes in tonight for a visit with us! Today is wide open - no commitments beyond getting guest bedroom spiffed and getting groceries in the house. My stamping things didn't come yesterday - it was my COVID tests, and they have gone astray in the postal system.
I need to be on track with my vow of spending 10 min daily straightening up my room upstairs, and 10 min also in garage. It's honestly overwhelming, too much stuff and too many decisions so I try not to think of it.
Gotta get moving.

Twins - How fun! Thanks for the start today and encouragement.
It's honestly overwhelming, too much stuff and too many decisions
I am right there and understand. Yesterday I set a goal of decluttering a table. I did put items that were on the table into groups but that is as far as I got. It felt overwhelming because of all the decisions to be made. Today I am changing my method with hopes it will help in what feels like a mind-boggling challenge. Today I am going to select my favorite category of STUFF from the five categories of STUFF. I am going to focus on taking care of the STUFF that brings me joy when I handle them. I like the thought of organizing STUFF that matters to me and it doesn't feel overwhelming.
Note to self....why am I trying to make myself give thought and effort to organize the other things that don't matter to me?
I am going to see how many hours in a row I can be focused. I am not seeking full out hard as I can go type of productivity but nice, easy and consistent progress each hour.

Good morning. Hopefully I can get on track with you guys today.
Step one, get off my butt and s2s. The power went out unexpectedly twice this morning, each time for only a few seconds but it discouraged me from getting into the shower since I need electricity to have water!

I've s2s. Dried my hair with the hair dryer, partly to avoid getting too cold but also to make it look good since I'm seeing my cousins tomorrow.
The day has turned sunny so I'll quickly eat lunch and then head off on a short walk.
I sat down an hour ago at the computer and ended up doing a jigsaw puzzle while listening to a podcast. That's time wasted. If I'm doing puzzles, I should be doing actual jigsaws as I have two 300 piece ones here to do.
I did actually answer two emails, though.
And given a lot of thought to giving up some of my major volunteer positions.

I’m definitely back on track.
Sweetie and I have been working outside the house. I watered and fed my palm trees and the plants Linder my front tree. Storm did a number on them so I cut the plants way down in hopes they will come back.
Did the same to two of my big bushes in the back and then Sweetie then helped me load the cuttings into two large paper gardening bags.
Next I need to focus on several hotspots in my house. Everything has a home, I just need to put them there.
I need to:
Empty the dishwasher and reload it
Clear off my coffee table..top and bottom
Move my jigsaw puzzle around. It’s on my dinning room table
Clear off my side table in my walkway. All my stuff like purse, keys and sunglasses land there
Rehang my front door wreath
Clear off my kitchen island
Find homes for several very large plastic containers
Waving to y’all

Coming back through here, I got groceries and dropped off that pesky return that I forgot about on Monday. Perishables are put away, need to put away pantry stuff. I had lunch out too.
Need to regroup here. Main thing is guest bedroom, I need to put away table clothes from the holiday. I'm also considering changing the sheets because I don't know if they every got changed after last April when I came home with a broken arm. I think they did but I don't know. So maybe. I cleaned the upstairs bathroom before Rosh Hashana in case anyone went upstairs to use it.
One of our very dneighbors did a mailbox makeover for us yesterday. He was doing his own earlier in the week and I saw him out while walking the dog, then they were over the night we built a fire outside. All the mailboxes here are identical black - he sanded a little and spray painted, took the flag off and spray painted it red and the numbers off and spray painted them gold. It looks great! One of the enterprising kids here offered makeovers a few years ago - charged maybe $25 - so many signed up that he ran out of steam before he finished them all.
The roomba is going.
I'm having trouble getting moving - :30 past the hour I need to work for 45 minutes. Finish with groceries, take table clothes upstairs and put away and maybe change the sheets....
