Good morning!
Blessedw2 - Thank you for the start today.
I'm on the 4th hour of my day and trying to make each hour count. Routines, habits, and normal doings have taken up most of my time so far but I was able to accomplish one yearly event. I finished the last of the sweet potato harvest! This year I didn't let them stay in the ground continuing to grow like I did last year. The difference in less time to grow meant that instead of football size sweet potatoes like last year, the sweet potatoes this year are normal size plus there are an abundance of fingerling size which I love. All sized taste good but the big ones are more challening to cut and cook.

yesterday I was hopeful by mom's can do attitude and clear mind. Today she is completely unable to focus, she is worried about her future, unable to see her meds. She even realized that she needs to live with someone. It will change again.
She had emptied her bag onto her ironing board - no iron - no meds that I clearly marked on stapled on paper.
so dd younger is going over there and picking her up - seeing where her meds are.

(((Blessed))) that is such a mile post that you - all realize that your mom can no longer live on her own.
I have been up a while woke up a five - ish this morning.
Mostly journaling and desk stuff.
I think it's a writer Thurs. for me.
I have some more cards to get ready to go for Nov.
A letter to write up as well maybe even two of them.
So far that's been on my mind.
Got myself dressed this morning so that helps.
Did bfast with some veg. in it too.
Waving and cheering you on through your day.

DH and i went to the tag agency and got the vehicle paperwork updated to remove our name on a pickup we sold. Once that was accomplished, I went online and removed that vehicle from our insurance. That transaction lowered our yearly vehicle insurance by $512. #SmallWins
Sweet potato harvest and vehicle ownership change might be the only two things I accomplish today but the day feels productive so far.

dd younger lives with mom full time in Florida - she watches over her - makes sure she eats and takes her meds/water but others help too so dd is free during the day, if dd goes out of town we hire someone, we have a nurse 3 times a week and lots of people in and out - mom is okay with people around. dd wants to go back to Florida with mom bc it works but I don't want dd to be responsible anymore. She likes the life there but she has to concentrate on work = she has wonderful friends. I have never been happy with this arrangement. This is another thing to discuss. This will be hard on dd younger as she could not afford living there and on d mom bc she loves living with dd and her dog.
(Mom needs time alone during the day or she gets cranky) We all know and see that she shouldn't be alone over night even though it is just for sleep -- we see the videos -it lets us know when she moves out of her bedroom - if she has a nightmare then it's a totally different matter - she gets confused and once she eats then she is better again - I am wondering if it is her sugars. She had a nightmare this morning. She has reached the stage where nightmares are so real that she gets overwhelmed until she eats/drinks water.
I have to talk to my brother. the girls don't want me to. but we will talk this weekend.
we have two choices: a caretaker from 8 pm to 9/10 in the morning and the rest of the day with me etc.
or have her live here.
I met a caretaker (12-14 years younger than mom) the other day and my mom is 100% healthier, more positive and vibrant than the caretaker that the building hired. it was very concerning.
Lots to think about! thank you d Nancy!

I have also had to rethink dh's habit's or actions and my own acceptance/view of it. Little quirks that aren't necessarily clean.

bw2, thank you for starting us! I slept in this morning - I was super-tired last night but stayed up later, then was up around one a.m. to wake dh up in his chair and ask him to come to bed

and then with a cough later. And when I got a drink of water to help the throat tickle, I turned over my water and had to turn on lights to clean up the water.
Dh will be out this evening until about seven. We have brisket and salad left from last night so that will be our dinner.
I've had breakfast and have the kitchen/breakfast table back to order. Will head upstairs in a few.
