I will be spending the day reading ghost stories! I don't think I will be lighting any fireworks for Diwali, but who knows what the day will bring! Not expecting any ghouls or goblins because we live on a long dark street with no streetlights or sidewalks and we have a long driveway. In the 9 years we have lived here, we have never had any trick or treaters. I do intend on going out later, so I'm sure I will see people in costumes.

hi cathy!! happy Halloween! Thank you for the start to this spooky day!!!

We usually have a LOT of trick or treaters, some driven in. I do try to make them all feel welcome, and I'm happy giving older kids candy too - I'd rather they do that than get into trouble. Our neighborhood starts early but closes down early too. Our high today is close to eighty but partly cloudy.

I was hoping to go to library today but I just don't think so. I'll wait until tomorrow, when dh is potentially hanging out at home and I can get out too. And I potentially have a bigger block of time. I just have my workout today but I want to be home pretty soon after that because of Halloween.

I'm still down the rabbit hole this morning.

Up and at it!

Laundry day… first load is already in the dryer with the second on washing away.

Stripped and remade the bed. Deep cleaned the kitchen and now have a load of towels to put away. Stopped to drink my second cup of coffee and in a while have some small errands to run

It’s a bit cooler now with the highs in the low 80’s and much less humidity. I’ve been wearing my favorite jeans and feel like fall is finally on its way.

Our end of the community had very few kids so we don’t do Halloween. Can’t say that I miss it. I don’t do well with bowls of candy sitting around in my house

Twins… it never bothered me when older kids showed up. They like candy too. I remember being in 8th grade the last time I went trick or treating. My friends and I all went dressed as Beatniks and used pillow cases as our bags.

I have been up a while purged planners pages in my butterfly room.
Have not been to the spare room to do more in that room.

Having reeses flavored coffee creamer today.
Bfast is under way now.
Kids here do not go to homes here they go to businesses down town.

I actually came to a place I think I can stop on this genealogy quest. It would be a fun rabbit hole to go down but it's not my family and I think I can let it go for now. So many questions! But I think my focus is going to be on what I'm writing, which is the children of William, not the parents of her second husband!

I haven't brushed teeth and washed up face yet.

Five things:
-write a check for parking ticket and get it ready to mail on the way home from workout
-wash face/brush teeth (extended routine with water pic and second toothpaste.)
-get dressed for workout
-eat something before workout
-what else?

Later, the fifth thing was folding a load of laundry and moving over what was in the washer.

Got dressed before ten today.
Walked.
next get card ready for a Nov. birthday.
That chair does recline. I checked today. Just for fun.
Actually one with out arms so I can knit would be even better.

I picked my one and only tomoto this week from a vol. Tom plant it was a cherry one like a plum one sweet 100 type grapey shaped!
I am excited I get to begin a new note book next week! I'm on the last few pages.
Got another stack of used planner pages from a couple yrs. back I no longer need and they are ready to go in the trash pick up. Yea!

Heading now to crochet after my lunch.
I am going to be finishing up the yellow ombre dish cloths
then start on the first one of two hot pads for a set and try to get em done before
they do the food baskets in Nov. I have 11 done this is the last year!

Cathy - Thank you for the start today. It is interesting to hear what everyone is doing today.

DS16 asked if he and girlfriend could be in charge of handing out candy this year. I instantly and wholeheartedly agreed to them doing it. Over the past several weeks I have bought 2-4 big packages of candy every time I went to Sam's. I have all the bags & boxes of candy piled in a gorilla dump cart ready to be loaded up. I only bought candy and treats that don't tempt me. There are no individual candy pieces but little bags of treats. If I could get access to only ONE piece I might be tempted but I won't open a bag. I haven't counted how many treats are in the cart yet but we usually give away somewhere around 1000 treats at the community trunk & treat.

DS16 girlfriend is a planner and a scheduler. She seems to enjoy doing detail planning & prep for everything. She had on their calendar for them to carve pumpkins last night. She had everything needed and created an event for it. I love seeing pictures of their working together at her home. She has been gathering pieces and parts for their Halloween costume for weeks. I heard they are going to be prince and princess. DS16 and her took my credit card Saturday night and went to the mall in the city to buy the last piece they needed. (A white dress shirt for DS16). I am looking forward to seeing what they look like tonight.

In the kitchen today -
** Fresh spinach prepped, weighed and bagged in portion size for the freezer.
** Catfish fillets cooking.
** Two kinds of peppers cleaned, sliced and sauteed.
** Six lbs of grapes (3 lb of red, 3 lb or green) washed and prepped. Some grapes went into mason jars for the refrigerator. Some grapes went into portion size serving bags for the freezer.

Home from workout. Turns out now that trainer will be taking off Thus-Friday for the next three weeks until they close so I wouldn't have a workout on Thursday unless I did two back to back. So he's refunding me the month and I'll take off from workouts. When he reopens in December I'll start now. I don't begrudge him time off - he has ten or so days of vacation he hasn't used. So I'm off for the month I guess.

I need to get busy again.
-give meds to dog
-lock up my car
-turn on grill to cook some burgers
-finish putting away laundry
-pupa pick up put away

Change of plans > so far> gave meds to dog > walked dog > locked up the car > decided on the pre cooked burgers to make life easy tonight.
Now need to do a little pupa and p.m. routine. Dh came in talking. I had to sit down and eat something. Was diverted.

I have done a huge paper tame here yea!
Went through the old ones on the rest of the next box.
So happy for that it helps to just do it!

Got my steps in today too it was mild out so I walked to both corners.
Finished the ombre yellow dish cloth.
Next I have to start a hot pad.
Hands are sore from the paper so I'll be taking a bit of a break for a bit.
