Enjoy the Season Saturday PWYC

As Harriet noted yesterday, it's a festive time of the year for getting our groove on. What will you be doing today to celebrate the season? Not only the holidays, but the short winter days, the early sunset, the slant of the southern sun getting ready, in another week or so, to start it's arc back to the north as the earth. One commonality of many winter holidays is the solstice, and return of light.

Enjoy the season for its own charm, we all get reason for our seasonal holidays. I wish you a wonderful day!

Slept wonderfully last night and woke up in a great mood.

Sweetie and I watched the morning news in bed, something we never do. Got my coffee and drank it there too.

Got up and made a quick grocery run before the store got busy. Came home and put everything away and made my bowl of oatmeal.

My home looks like a bomb went of with Cmas decorations every where.

Off to:
Make cookies for Sweetie
Finish decorating the house… that will take a while
Wrap presents
Start on Cmas cards

Lucylee… I’ve been able to cut down on my scrolling by keeping my book close buy. After I finish checking messages, including fb one, I realized I wanted to scroll through stuff because it was accessible and easy to do. Also I realized I was bored. So once I finis what I need to do, I stop and read my book… at least for a while

I love to read and what I discovered is I was substituting scrolling through stuff instead of reading. I also broke my habit of watching stuff on tv by reading as well.

The results are I am sleeping much better by doing this. I know you sleep with your tv on, but could you turn the volume off till you want to fall asleep and then turn it back on at low volume?

Ten days till Christmas Eve, y’all. I’m still working on Christmas cards and hoping to find the perfect gifts for the last ones on my list.
Right now though, dgd’s basketball game…

Hi!

So far today I have gone to a local grocery store just after they opened. I wanted more carrots for the next couple of weeks. Three of them got sliced up and went into the beef stew that is now just simmering for a few hours. All that is left to do is let it simmer and stir occasionally.

I bought the cats some catnip, which they just had a bit of. Now the Baby Cat is sprawled all over my desk! LOL!!

I also cooked the dates and I am almost ready to put the date squares into the oven.

It's really sunny, but it's also really cold here. Lots of frost this morning, but no snow.

Good morning!

DH was out the door before 7am to a monthly men's breakfast. He hadn't attended for several months because he mentally wasn't feeling ready to do it. I consider this a positive sign that he attended today.

Another positive sign is I walked this morning. I had to take a pause in doing my daily morning mile walk because of my hip randomly locking up. It felt wonderful to walk at sunrise again.

I was supposed to meet my d sis in laws but I couldnt' sleep and ended up with a headache. I took melatonin at 2:00 and it knocked me out.
I really wanted to go and I feel bad about it.
slept until 9:00 am.

funny: we got a warm and loving card from a couple who look familiar but can't for the life of us know who they are. The more we look at the card the more they look familiar. 8-) They said they met my brother a couple weeks ago and he said that he had met someone but had no idea who they were. They want to stop by sometime. lol - always making new friends?

I have to work

I got up late and have puttered about some. Dog walked, s2s-ed, just had late brunch. I think I'll get kitchen counters cleared and wiped, then will head upstairs to stamp. Dh is out for awhile this afternoon.

can't for the life of us know who they are
This makes me uneasy. I hope it is 10000% innocent but my first thought was.....scam. Especially when they want to meet you in person. Who does that? What possible reason? I did find one possible reason - on tiktoc there are some who are sending cards to strangers.

Lunch was chicken and green salad.

The sunshine is so bright today that it has raised the temperature inside the house by 12F degrees! The angle of the sun shines into the house during this time of the year through a 20' wall of windows. During summer the sun angle changes, resulting in this wall of windows being in the shade. I don't know if the builder did this intentionally, but it is one of my favorite things about this old house.
