yay new years -HAPPY NEW YEARS

I want to be like the women here this year.
time with dh
try to plan ahead - knowing that no plan is set - new things come to challenge us and help us grow.
routines
time out of the house that sparks my soul

it is 1:41 mom is still resting - so is dh. she has been awake but resting all day! I
cleaned the top of the washing machine and dryer
more laundry done
recycling put outside
said hello to everyone here that I could see
next put away in laundry room, sweep well - start washing every day.
swept the floor in laundry room
laundry is drying - I have to check on washer
next fold towels

6:39 I am emotionally and physically tired.
I am sure hearing mom's comments about the floors etc. after I worked all day is a bit overwhelming.She doesn't mean anything bad. Praying she sleeps tonight.
I still have to flip the laundry

Mom up, meds given, hair washed, dressed, laundry put in her basket. she needs to brush her teeth

mom is rinsing dishes and putting them in the dw wow!!!


I Have a Cold
According to Doctor Google, I am actually dying.
With the symptoms I have, surely it can't be lying.
I'm living on borrowed time, I really should be dead.
My head is so dense, I look like Mr Potato head.

Rechecking my symptoms as I stare at the computer screen.
A common cold I have, now that's not so mean.
I've blown my nose so much, now it's red and raw.
My throat feels the same and coughing makes it sore.

I want to lie down but my nose is too stuffy.
I triple up the pillows but they don't feel soft and fluffy.
So much green, slimy mucas dripping down my throat.
In a Medieval castle I think I could fill the moat.

My face is drawn and haggard with mouth open wide.
Such an effort to breathe, this cold I cannot abide.
The whole body aches, I sluggishly move about the room.
Succombing to the symptoms, resigned to impending doom.

It's only a cold I have, It shouldn't be that big a deal.
Yes it is! No one on earth could imagine the way I feel. (sounds more like a man's cold as they used to say)
I know you've all had a cold before, but not as bad as mine.
Don't anybody tell me that in a couple of days I will be fine.

Trying to go to bed. close my eyes and go to sleep.
If only I could! without my nose constantly on the leak.
Maybe I'll just stay in my chair and write another ditty.
But I'd rather think about myself, happily wallow in self pity.

As I like to play with joy - I started the day finding joy in everyone's little quirks especially me.
it's not to make fun but to enjoy the moments

mom has a need to label anything - including my charcoal art supplies - I also am enjoying her need to go over her list - time to start
dh - he was so excited that he bought a new mailbox
me - that where ever I go things follow (not animals or mom but stuff)

I am so tired.
cold is starting to hit again
if I could I would sleep

1. remove cushion covers from car - wash as you go and put them on the cushions
2. start getting seeds
3. put togethr light tower

it's a cold day - our new furnace is not keeping up - I have people coming again on Tuesday to find out why it's not working well.
it is 20 degrees outside and usually our heat keeps up. It is new since November - I wonder if this is a lemon

A new day!!! A blessing -

routines for Friday:
family room is a weekly
bedroom sheets etc.
feed the birds
look for trash
dailies - kitchen powder room first floor etc. swish and swipe
put away a couple boxes (christmas) that are in the garage on their shelves
remove and spackle the nails that I had up for garland
change light bulbs
what's for dinner

if I have time empty the upstairs freezer - toss what I don't want

yesterday I spent the day in the freezers and fridge

I am getting lost so I better focus.

praying for focus.

yesterday may have been good for dh and d mom - but I think today won't be great but that is more than okay! keep my spirits moving forward.

dh opened the outside gate for me but could not keep the dogs from running out without their collars. He doesn't notice those things sometimes.
so he was frustrated. I have to find a couple solutions that will work. dogs need training again as bad habits have come in.

mom was struggling looking at the calendar and this and that and got into a circle.

girls think she is more independence in Florida that she would do great - no way. also I am insistent that dd younger is no longer a care taker - she needs to support herself and the only way is without mom.
Mom - if people can't see her dementia, even though it has stabilized bc her health is good again, it is because they are not seeing her from moment to moment - she gets stuck in circles of thought.

I am going to have to be kind but strong on this one - d mom can go on vacation to Florida but she can not be alone as often - dd younger needs to work during the day and not for mom.

So that's where I am at today!
Hoping I too can focus on what I need to do and what creativity I can have today. goal: get back to learning that's just for me.

all I had to do is turn it on.
sink is lovely.

mom went to the sink and started doing dishes that's very good - everyone needs to have purpose in their day. Her natural cleanliness is kicking in again. simplicity is the tool for her right now.

kitchen table cleaned off
felt bad bc mom had a huge runny nose and wouldn't wipe it - I did and boy was she mad - but I couldn't let her drop stuff in the sink
list made - ideas to pick from today.
went in powder room and dejunked it - didn't wash it though
time to sweep the front hall and bathroom.

mom is a pistol today!
geesh.

yesterday may have been a struggle but hope/faith makes me enjoy the new morning and the new day. I woke up refreshed and assessing yesterday and how I can adapt.

New Day

with d rose's help - mom got dressed!
she is washing her pjs, her robe, her underthings in the washer -
I received my seeds from burp e's and she is now separating them and checking them off -

I put the clean covers on the bottom cushions - such a pain as the fabric shrinks
time for dailies and weeklies
then exercise
dogs
