how about you all!

my goal is to learn from yesterday and see how I can do better/adapt to the situation. As mom is so different than my grandparents and my uncle etc I will get some advice from an Alzheimer counselor.

today dh and I are going to dinner with his siblings - I am glad we are getting together at least once a month. we used to get together every week before mom passed. The girls still get together every Saturday at 7 am - too early for me lol.

It snowed here overnight! Not much, and the roads have been salted/sanded. Even so, I told dh I made the executive decision to stay home today. Costco can wait until tomorrow. and so can his meds.

Dishwasher got emptied, refilled and turned on. It just finished. I also put last night's damp laundry into the dryer and it will be done in 15 minutes.

I've also started in on pots and pans and some sharp knives. Plus I made scrambled eggs with chorizo sausage and toast for breakfast for both of us.

Lots of pictures of the devastation in California. I think the HOLLYWOOD sign on fire says it all. One of the water bombers hit a drone and it's wing got damaged. Is it true that this all may have been started by arson?

The sun is breaking through just a little, off and on, this morning. We're supposed to have clouds and a high of 36 or so today, so we'll melt some. Dh has walked the dog and is clearing the driveway, sidewalk, and steps. I think he's inspired by a neighbor who was way ahead of him but it gives him something to do.

Ddog is ready for me to walk her, I wanted to s2s first but will take her out for a walk and I'm sure it will be good for me.

bw2, love labs - as I've often mentioned ours was a garbage retriever, but in puppyhood was such a destroyer we nicknamed him "The Beast."

I love this group. Knowing you makes me better.

I'm having a good start to my day.
** Woke up naturally after sleeping soundly for over 9 hours.
** Took a shower including washing my hair.
** Txted with DGS29 about today's plans.
** Did morning mile walk even though it was 18F. The roads were not slippery so I decided my wet hair might freeze but it would be okay. Note to self....the snow took away my ability to walk outside yesterday. Losing the ability to do that showed me how I felt about not being able to do it.
** Cooked breakfast (egg/hashbrowns/ham/sausage/hotlink/rolls) and was just about to sit down to eat when the doorbell rang. DFriend delivered containers of breakfast food to us that they cooked at mens breakfast this morning. We had an abundance of food for breakfast!

I have done more large pots and pans. Now there are only three pots from last night to do. I've already done both frying pans from this morning. Dryer has also been emptied and the washing machine is currently working on my nightie and and matching housecoat.

Dh asked for a replacement book mark last night. (His fell under the bed) I gave him the one I was using. This morning I went into the tiny drawer where all the bookmarks live and I decided that we had far too many. I use a lot of things for bookmarks, so thinning out things like the label from our discarded mattress will be okay. It made a great bookmark BTW. The ironing board is still up, so I had the space to spread them all out.

It must be winter if I'm doing all this odd organizing.

LadyM I'm sure your DS16 will be able to assist with helping the food disappear!

That is definitely not a problem around here. Yesterday i bought 3 pizzas thinking that would be enough. Nope. I ended up grabbing some pizza bagels and French bread pizzas from the freezer and cooking them to supplement the pizzas. DS16 is such a social fella and is rarely without friends around him. I never know how many teens will be here and all of them seem to have the super ability to make food disappear. Not a problem but just a fact.
