Anti-Procrastination Wednesday PWYC

I really need to do some DPC that have been on my list too long. Anyone join me in doing some of those tasks today?

I think I saw Lucylee online yesterday with a meme that said "My mother didn't raise a quitter, but she may have raised a procrastinator." Right on point for today, huh?

And keeping Harriet in thoughts and prayers today too, back at the hospital way too early.

Good morning!

DGS27 has been texting me this morning asking my opinion about political & faith things. Apparently, his break room workplace is filled with many varied discussions. I absolutely love to talk with others about most any subject, especially those that I don't understand their viewpoint. I am 100% okay with having different views and am always seeking to learn. What I don't care for is when someone gets angry or the demand that I must think like them.

We have no school today because of ice storm. Our method of dealing with ice/snow is to wait it out. It will go away in a few hours.

I've had the some of the same phone calls on my "list" for awhile and haven't hit them the last two weeks when we've had anti-procrastination day. Sorry for repeat theme, but I need to keep pegging away at these things. Of course, last week I was knee deep in catching up on HOA papers, so I guess I did enough then?

Lucylee, I've been meaning to tell you that I don't know a thing about treasury bond reporting but I do know that one can list the interest from the 1099 on the tax return, then subtract off what is reported by a co-owner. But then co owner should report, and it sounds like you've reported in prior years? I''m not sure but I hope your tax accountant will figure it out for you. Not ignoring, just unfamiliar!

Today we're expecting rain all day again. I realized late yesterday afternoon that I hadn't gone by the post office to ck HOA box, so I must go out to do that today. I have a 12:30 Zoom with mentee, and we have dinner out with dfriends A and V and then the "Simon and Garfunkle Story" show. So it's a busy day. I think rain may be slacking off by tonight. And I need to get ddog out in the rain for her walk. That is miserable but she insists she won't do biz in back yard, or go out to back yard. So I might as well get dressed and go - note my procrastination here...

And three (maybe more) DPCs later.

Hoping the ice storm is short-lived, LadyM. Is temp rising today? Although, it's cozy for awhile to be "snowed in."

good morning d twins and d lady and d everyone!

d lady - I too love to see how other people think - as long as it is a nice discussion - being respectful of each persons opinion. it must be wonderful for your grandson to be able to come to a safe space to discuss what is on his mind.
They are having internet school here - no longer do teachers and students get a day off for snow days. The kids don't know the joy that my kids had when snow or ice closed the schools.
I feel for the teachers.

"My mother didn't raise a quitter, but she may have raised a procrastinator. oh my gosh - I love it.

d twins - I hope to work today as well!
thank you for starting us!!!

keeping d harriet in my prayers as well!

I got alone time this morning! yay !

dd older had a hard day yesterday
it's snowing - we are now only to get 1 -3 inches of snow - we need it.

waving to each and everyone of you!!!

Gracie dog noticed that we are getting clutter again - I now have a kitchen table filled with all the things she found. (10" high!)
All within a half an hour.

Morning…

What I thought were sinus headache that were ruling my life are really allergy ones. Feeling much better but still have to be careful with what I eat and drink

Yesterday I put Einstein to work. Also dusted my home and spiffed things up a bit. Need to do a grocery run and then send a few emails that I have been putting off. Also need to finish my morning routines and am thinking about starting my laundry a day early.

Thinking of Harriet as well and sending healing thoughts.

I too don’t mind having political conversations with others that have a different opinions as long as they are nice. A friend of mine wanted to talk though our views are vastly different, or so we both thought when we started, but later discovered we agreed on several things. She told my it was one of the nicest and best conversations she had had in a long time. One the other hand I have a life long friend who has decided to end our friendship because she thinks I’m a fool for the way I think. I was kind with my remarks, but I can’t say that about hers. Such is life…

Hello, everybody!

Adding to the chorus of thoughts and prayers for Harriet. I hope the getting there was smoother than expected and all goes well today.

About to supervise nervous DC in a load of wash. Not that they haven’t done it before, but they keep second-guessing themself.

Procrastination: I need to give the bathroom a good cleaning — it’s been too long. Swishing and swiping only goes so far.

Vacuuming will be my "anti-procrastination" task, I guess. Should be a WEEKLY thing, of course, but yes... my mama didn't raise a quitter, but she sure did raise a procrastinator.
I wish my dad had raised a workaholic like himself. My aunt (his sister) certainly raised one, and has a granddaughter who is one... but nope... not me.
OTOH, I wouldn't want to be like my dad and miss out on family things because I thought I had to be working. So, there are pros and cons -- I just wish I had a little more of the energy that he and my aunt, and apparently my cousins, have.
* I did get all the laundry taken care of before I went to bed!
Today, I know I will need a nap -- I had trouble getting to sleep. Today is 10 months since dh passed and I can't believe it and I sorta made myself even more sad by looking through past posts, what were we doing a year ago... etc... So I couldn't sleep at all till very late/early, and then I woke up at 6:30 to use the bathroom, looked at FB a while, and then realized I was really hungry! Ate some crackers and drank some diet Dr. Pepper, and finally went back to sleep till 10:00 a.m.

ANYWAY --

Thank you, Twins, for giving me a little hope that I can share some of the "burden" of this $3000 income with DS. Since dh IS still listed as a co-owner. Of course, dh had already passed away when it was cashed... but I should have inherited that, shouldn't I?
Questions for accountant.

It has begun raining again here -- I can hear it -- and I am getting ready to go to the cemetery for dmom's cousin's burial. If I didn't have FB, I might not feel this way necessary, but I did establish a connection with this cousin and her children, and dmom just doesn't feel like going + the rain is much harder to manage when one has to use a walker. I have a long coat with a hood, and I am wearing my rain boots.

Yes, I hope y'all aren't iced-in too long, LadyM, and I hope you maintain electricity throughout the day. That's our philosophy here, too -- wait it out.

Also thinking of Harriet as she goes through today's procedures.
Waving to ALL!

With no school and teens home all day (plus GF) that means the amount of food needed for the day goes up. I wasn't particularly inspired to cook anything in particular so just went with the first thing I thought of and the first thing I saw. A double batch of mac and cheese and two kinds of smoked sausage are now in ready-to-eat status. Combined with other ready-to-eat foods, we have a variety of choice and should have plenty to feed everyone.
