Sunday from Standard to Saving, Spring Forward!

As we blink at the clock today (with a bit of a frown, perhaps), will we grumble all day OR decide to be grateful for what we can : the help that daylight savings intended, and the "earlier" sunshine heralding spring?

How can we spring our weeks forward with calm planning today?

Harriet thanks for the start this morning.
I was up on time still dark out.
Did planning qt journals as the dawn happened outside with some pick skies I noticed.
Glad LucyL. got her tree put away.

I was coughing no fever might be from maple tree pollen in my yard and next door.
Ddoggo is feeling better that is a relief.
Some fresh planner pages helped my perspective on what went well yesterday!

Good Morning!

Random thing I learned today - The color of the lid on Coke bottle has a meaning.
The yellow cap on the Coca-Cola bottle signifies it's a kosher version made for Passover, using sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup to comply with Jewish dietary laws during the holiday.

During Passover Jews traditionally avoid eating leavened grains like wheat & oats. They also avoid grain-like foods including rice & CORN. Therefore no corn syrup is allowed so real sugar is used instead.

This special edition appears annually in the spring, primarily in the U.S., and is popular among Coca-Cola fans for its distinct sweetness, similar to Mexican Coke.

The practice dates back to the late 1930s, when Coca-Cola began producing this variant to cater to Jewish consumers observing Passover restrictions.
I have no clue why this caught my attention today. Just a random fact I didn't know.

After a deary cloudy cold day yesterday, I have a new appreciation for sunny weather today. I have been outside a half dozen times just because I can.

As I slowly creep towards feeling better, now dh is sick. I've been sleeping so much.

I'm not sure I'm able to move today! Just kidding, but my body hurts! And I guess it's a blessing that dh is busy himself today - I may need to go to the anniversary open house this afternoon with him - but there's also a chance that he'll run late. In order today: breakfast at 8 with ds, massage, bowling in a fundraiser tournament, anniversary open house 2-4, if we go, and then bowling tonight. So I can mostly lie low, get the house back together, and have some time for myself. BTW, I had 10K steps yesterday, put me over 56K for the week, an average of 8K daily.

This is the start of a busy week with another full day devoted to genealogy online but I also have one day that is wide open. That squeezes everything else into three days.

Harriet, thank you for the start this a.m. and reminder. Dh was up in the night coughing a lung up and I found him sitting in his chair at 5:30 (old time, new time? I don't know) asleep with the TV on.

Cathy, glad you're creeping toward having your health back, so sorry that dh has it now.

LadyM, I probably knew that, stored back somewhere in my mind? We don't drink Coca cola or keep kosher for Passover. Some observant Jews have special Passover toothpaste - I don't remember what the ingredient is there that's not kosher for Passover. For the record, it's about a month away - begins on 12 April I think.

Oh no Cathy, but glad you are feeling better.

Set my alarm so I wouldn’t sleep away my day, but woke up my natural time.

Drank coffee, folded laundry, stripped my bed, but didn’t remake it and headed outside to plant my sunnie.

I readied my pots yesterday. The process of planting my sunnies is long and tiresome. First I mark my pots with round laundry basket that I will use later on to cover my sunnies. Then I plant my seeds. I misted them till they are good and wet. Next I cover the pots with the basket. This keeps the critters and birds from eating my sunnies as they being to sprout.

I then cover the baskets with sheets of plastic which I have to strap down with bungie cords. This turns my pots into mini hot houses and allows them to grow even if the winds blow and temperatures drop during the nights.

Just finished doing that and am now taking a break.

((Cathy and dh)) Will you need to see dr tomorrow as you wondered? Thanks for checking in. Hope you continue to feel better.

That's interesting, LadyM. We sometimes have the "real sugar Pepsi". I didn't know lids signified anything with coca-cola.

Enjoyed the morning service online this morning. The time got away from me, though, and I missed most of the singing.

Dsonil sent a photo of dd26 with new-to-her car. It looks much nicer than the description or age led me to believe. Nice to see she got one in a body style that sort of defies dating it. Paint looks factory-good still, so if she can keep that she should be very pleased, and she does have a garage. She found herself stranded on the side of the road last week - happily just a few minutes from home - so definitely time to think about decisions like this.

HRH is trying to set up a gaming date with a few of the older grands. He has the networked computers ready for some quest or another, lol. We offered pizza, but that turned out to be their mother's weary default last evening!

I am so happy to see you all!

Hard to believe that spring is waking up soon - so happy!
mom asked me to open the door so that she could let a lady bug go - it was an asian one (I know they are not good) but she wanted to save it. - they are in the house this time of year - it was very sweet to see her with a little lady bug on her hand and letting it fly away.

hi d harriet - thank you for starting our day! it smells like spring here! I hope it is lovely by you and everyone here (everywhere) How exciting that your dd has a new to her car!!! wonderful. what a great idea your dh had! such a fun idea to do with your older grand children

d cathy - you are busy! love it - I am going to use your energy to get me started

d twins hello - I think you need that massage today! I hope it lets your muscles a chance to relax and feel less tight. enjoy the open house and bowling. yay on your walking!!! hope your dh is not getting a cold - praying he feels great all day!

d cathy - I do hope you start feeling better fast!!!

d lady good morning I had no idea about coke - so interesting. it's nice to hear that companies are making products for everyone.
glad you got some sun! how wonderful

d Nancy Hope your allergies don't make you cough so much!!! so happy your d dog is feeling better!

d Lucy - wahoo yay - you got your tree away!

our house and dh: dh is not coming home today and I am glad- I do miss him but I need to know he is safe. His oxygen isn't in yet. I think he will be home tomorrow bc the oxygen should be in. The girls and I had a talk about dh. They both say that dh has gotten to a point where he just doesn't want to do things that everyone needs to do and that dh is more than capable of doing. That I not standing up to him in a kind firm way is hurting me. Both said no more. We can be kind but firm. it will be hard on him. Ah we shall see what the future brings. ;)

I pulled out the pop-tarts for DH birthday weekend celebration. I only buy Poptart's on birthdays, so they seem like a treat.

RR - Interesting to hear the multiple steps to plant your flowers. I suspect each steps comes from a hard learned experience of how to solve a potential problem.

While waiting for winter weather to pass, I have started the process of transplanting the plants I bought a couple days ago. Most of the purchased plants are in 4" containers and their root system has outgrown that size pot. I am transplanting each one to an 8" net pot that has slotted sides and bottom. After the chances of freeze passes then I will plant the entire net pot into the ground. The slotted pot will protect the plant from gopher/mole while allowing the root system to grow through the slots to be outside the net pot.
I transplanted 5 plants into larger pots this morning. Only 110 more to go........
