What's happening today around the PWYC village? Porch lights coming on, waking up, out for morning walks and exercises, sipping our excellent coffee and tea. What are your plans for the day? Already underway? (Has RR been out already for exercise class?)

Thinking particularly of Harriet undergoing a "harvesting" procedure today - to send her cells off to be energized and immunized - and keeping her on my mind for a day filled with hopeful comfort and healing thoughts.

Thank you for starting us in off , Twins. It's lunch time here, and a beautiful sunny day, so I've spent most of the morning in my garden.

LucyLee, I'm from the UK, where tipping culture is very different, but as it's a family business and it's worrying you, I would just pop back in there, go up to the counter and say how much you enjoyed your meal, and apologise that you were so distracted by little DGD, that you quite forgot to leave a tip, and just hand it over there and then and ask them to give it to the waitress. (I'm not sure if the individual staff member would get the tip or whether they're divided up between them all?) Job done, and you can move on, and not feel anxious about going back there in future.

Dh and I both set alarms to be up at 8 a.m. Neither one of us ended up sleeping past 7:45. Dh had to be somewhere at 9 and he also has someone coming over around 10. My fibre arts group starts at 10. Last week we were all doing counted cross stitch. We will probably all be doing that again this week. One lady usually crochets, but does cross stitch when she's got a project she wants to do. They are all small, like bookmarks.

We are having Shepherd's Pie for supper.

It's very cold here today with the possibility of snow. It's also really, really windy. All three cats decided that they were inside cats today.

Twins - Thank you for starting the PWYC thread today. I was here earlier but couldn't stay long.

It is back to normal routine Monday for us. I turned the school alarms back on last night. The first 3 alarms have sounded off this morning resulting in DD13 arriving at school on time. DS16 homeschool is happening.

DH had a short night which means so did I. Late night with the teens and early start with DH = 6 hours of sleep. That is my minimum sleep needed so I will be okay today. I just prefer not to repeat minimum sleep hours anytime soon.

Happening in the kitchen today -
Cooking - Cinnamon Apples & Raisin, Smoked Sausage, roasted potatoes

LucyLee - I agree with Kittykatt about the tip. IMHO, it would be well worth the effort to give the forgotten tip.

Completed yesterday accomplishing nothing but reading, showering, and making my dinner.

Didn't sleep well probably because I did nothing all day.

I'm trying to do more today but see it is 10 a.m. and I'm still in my pjs and bed is unmade.

But I have:

1. booked a hair cut (unfortunately for when I get home since the appointment before I leave is too soon because I trimmed my bangs last week.)

2. Reordered my meds so I'll have enough for the trip.

3. put in an a-river order for clothes for my trip. Hope this goes well. I've gained enough weight that my existing clothes don't fit well, so even if they weren't old (most are 5+ years old), they look dowdy on me. And my rain coat is super tight around the hips so I bought a larger one in a colour rather than black.

4. Booked my meal for the flight (this is something that is new, one can preorder one's meal when flying business class.) Booked nothing for dh because he doesn't eat on flights.

5. Had tea and chocolate, did stretches, and emptied the dish rack while I was waiting for my tea to steep.

Now I'll go get dressed and vacuum and dust the bedroom wing. The whole apartment needs vacuuming and dusting really badly but I'm breaking things down into smaller tasks.

Yes, in agreement for Lucylee. Quick and easy to do, you were distracted and want to be sure to take care of your waitress.

I did not set the alarm this a.m. and really should have, but I probably needed the rest. (rationalizing, but it's okay.) I've already made Invisible Fence call and they walked me through troubleshooting - and fence is fine. So collar can go back on her when in yard. At least that is squared away.

I have a workout at two - may need to reschedule if tree appointment runs long. Pretty sure I could get in tomorrow or even Wed if needed.

So I gotta get moving on a.m. routine.

Kathryn - where is this trip to? I was thinking yesterday of all the fun trips you had when dh was teaching and you stayed in neat little places and picked up milk and tea... I'd like to get back to where I feel like travel is fun. After last April and the broken wrist in Europe I haven't considered it to be fun.

Good morning all!

I did get just about all the tax prep done yesterday - will finish that up today, and have some regular to dos - empty dishwasher, laundry, empty wastebaskets, and garbage/recycle cans to curb, to name a few. Will be out of town for part of the day tomorrow so will put gas in the car if it stops raining.

Homeschool is done. DS16 has left for work.

Talked with CPA and he has opening at 1pm today. Eeeek! I haven't started gathering documents. I have 2.5 hours to get it done.
