Talk it out Tuesday PWYC

There was lots of good discussion going on in the PWYC yesterday, autism, ADHD, Lucylee's mother at ER. LadyM's dd receiving an award. Challenges of a partner with memory loss. Retirement. And welcoming Costumelady!
This is a great place for discussion. This is a wise community with many diverse experiences, yet so very many commonalities. We're all enriched by talking it out with this community.

Made coffee & drank it x2.
Today I've done my walk about.
Trash is at the curb.
Sheets are in the wash.
A rainy & cloudy day here this is a great day to focus on my inside stuff!
Like the D's
and my BWP / basic weekly plan.
Waving to every one
bfast in a bit.

Goal...
to get most of my stuff done by noon when my time block for some fun inside things is.
Swept seeds it looks better.
Slight rain now outside.
Sheets are in the dryer.
Walked with umbrella today.

Thank you for starting us today, Twins. I followed yesterday 's discussion about autism /ADHD with great interest. I recently found this Venn diagram, showing how the two conditions can overlap.

It made me think, hmmm, as it explains a.lot from my family, and also my own experiences growing up.
As an example,.one thing that really used to bug me (and still does to am extent!) is if you were chatting with someone, and you had arrange to meet them, for example, the following week, when you said goodbye, the would always say "See you later"
even though you almost certainly wouldn't be meeting beach other for another week. And yes, I like routines, and I get anxious if something in is changed at the last minute. I was the despair of my mother, as she wanted me to have the social skills she considered important, like being a competent tennis player (not brilliant, but competent), and I hated big social occasions with lots of people. I can definitely hyper focus - I'm thinking of all the projects I worked on as a child, and the special interests. Of course I had trouble fitting in,.most little girls not not have a passionate interest in the different types of snail in the UK!

And I've always bonded more easily with animals, as they take you as they find you.
I'm not going to pursue this officially -the waiting list in our hard pressed NHS is about 3 years, and there are both adults and children who are genuinely struggling with life, and I'm not one of them. I wish the knowledge and help that's available now had been there 20 or 30 years ago -it might have made a real difference at work, rather than just being considered odd/ weird/ antisocial/ not a team player /lazy etc, but that's all water under the bridge, and the most important nothing is to make the most of every day now.
DH has gone to Leeds on a work trip for a few days, leaving me at home with the cats. It's a beautiful day, so I e had a lovely walk, and some time iny garden. And I've finished the book Ive been reading, purely for pleasure. Housework this afternoon!
Waving to Nancy!

Nice morning here today - lower chance of rain today and high mid seventies. Partly sunny.
I took out chicken thigh to thaw for our supper tonight - with corn on the cob and green beans? We do eat better when we cook for ourselves. We didn't eat badly last night, but with a 6:30 meeting we both just had chili leftovers from Sunday night.
I'm moving slowly this a.m. because I stayed up too late last night doing mindless reading and surfing online. Meeting here lasted to nearly 8 and I was just peopled out I think.
I scheduled myself a "work session" for today when I was gung-ho on getting time to write last week, but I'm not feeling it today. Perhaps I'll get those cards out of the way. I need to finish a.m. routine first including brunch...
And I must find a dog sitter for Memorial day weekend. My two dog sitters that we use most will be away with their families on a cruise - how could I let that happen? And another is busy that weekend, not sure I should keep asking her.

Good morning!
I do find PWYC full of information and it frequently intrigues me to deep dive into a subject to learn more.
This morning has been smooth with the different categories of focus accomplished - Personal AM care including washing my hair, exercises, DD13 delivered to school with happy chatter on the drive, Kitchen happenings and garden doings. The one category that is dragging out is homeschool. DS16 and I are both ready for homeschooling to be over. Just 3 more days of assignments to finish and then it will be done. He declares the assignments are too difficult and I am pushing back with they should be challenging. This isn't a drama filled discussion but just a normal expression that we are both eager for summer break.
DH is weedeating to his heart's content. I am pleased that he enjoys being outdoors and has an activity that he likes doing. Bonus = the yard looks well kept.

Good afternoon! I started a post yesterday and never finished it.
Welcome, Costumelady! I also have grown kids living at home (DD 25, who has a part-time job and needs to find a full-time one, and DC (non-binary) 22, who is slowly working their way through community college (the ADHD is strong in that one!)).
I hope lucylee's DM is feeling better soon. It's not pleasant to be stopped up, even if it's not to the point they can call it impacted. And I'm sure lucylee would like to return to her regularly scheduled life. (No pun intended.)
Picked up some groceries this morning. Realized after picking them up that I had forgotten to order TP. We still have some, but we're getting short enough that I should have ordered some. I will have to send DH to the drugstore for some in a few days.
Really drowsy today. Not sure why. I think I will make myself a matcha latte with lunch.
Have not yet checked in to payroll today; I hope there is something there for me. I'm not sure, though, as another project is messing with the deadlines for this one.
I need to make that lunch now if I want to be done in time to run DD to work.

DD13 called from school with a self-diagnosed case of pink eye. I signed her out of school and brought her home. We have some pink eye drops med for her to start using. Timer has been set for every 3 hours to repeat the drops.

Thanks for good wishes for dmom!
After a really uncomfortable sleep last night, dmom sent me home this morning when she got up around 6;00 am. She didn’t have to tell me twice. I stopped at McD’s, got a couple of egg McMuffins, came home, ate, and SLEPT.
I was awakened by phone calls a couple times, but I really didn’t get up till 2:00 pm.
I feel pretty good now, but I think I have a swollen lymph gland — right side between ear and jaw is very sore, and painful to touch. Ds says maybe sinus trouble. He has recurring problems with this (although I don’t think he has seen a doctor about it.)
I have eaten some pizza and now I’m going to get ready to go to dgd’s class play. I’ll call dmom and see if things are going okay. BBL!

((Lucylee)) how is dmom feeling today?
I started a post twice upstairs and once rebooted the computer and second time left it sitting on that computer. I had a good time today in my reserved time. I did some genealogy writing continuing with what I was doing last week, and then took a break to stamp. Managed three grad cards and realized, back downstairs after, that I need at least one more. We've kind of been estranged from my dnephew (disis ds) and I saw that his dd graduated from HS this year. Her mom posted a lot of things about overcoming the generational curse and that she's sober unlike her parents were. We have strong political differences - I think my mother would roll over in her grave - but perhaps I should send a card with a check? So that would make two more cards. I'll do these differently, the "formula" for the three I made is boring to me, but was easily put together. Of what I made so far, two are children of dneighbors we are close to, and the other is for the dd of dude in dh's office. The dd specifically asked that dh be given an announcement and invite to the drop in party.
LadyM, glad the pink eye is being treated right away. This is the last week of school for dd, right?
Mystery, I identify with this, as do my children:
the ADHD is strong in that one!
Such a clever pun too!
